Immigration and health are two of the most contentious issues facing policy makers today. Policies that relate to both issues—to the health of newcomers—often reflect misimpressions about immigrants, their health, and their impact on health care systems. Although immigrants are typically younger and healthier than natives, and many newcomers play a vital role in providing care in their new lands, natives are often reluctant to extend basic health care to immigrants. Likewise, many nations turn against immigrants when epidemics strike, falsely believing that native populations can be kept well by keeping immigrants out. This book demonstrates how such reactions thwart attempts to create efficient and effective health policies and efforts to promote public health. The book argues that because health is a global public good and people benefit from the health of neighbor and stranger alike, it is in everyone’s interest to ensure the health of all. Reviewing issues as diverse as medical repatriation, epidemic controls, the right to health, the medical brain drain, organ tourism, and global climate change, the book shows why solidarity between natives and newcomers is ethically required and in the service of health for all.

In the recent one and half decades the service oriented architecture (SoA) is the emerging technology and also inevitable for the web community people. The relevant applications are incorporated together through the web service component that provides bountiful Information to the people and the customers all over the world today. Here orchestration and choreography plays a vital role in SoA. Using the initial and the basic information, it is possible to predict the unforeseen schedule of the scenario through random process methodologies. In that particularly stochastic model is much appreciated for the above said. The recommendations can be obtained through the above method and provides all the necessary information’s to the customers using SoA interfaces. Normally hybrid linked applications were in the form of SoA. In the recent year of 2016 the leading journal established the role of SoA is an inevitable web services component and also acting as a aggregation in distributed systems (Traore, B.B., et al., 2016. Integrating MDA and SOA for improving telemedicine services. Telematics and Informatics, 33(3), pp.733–741). For any cross platform communication and commercial transactions can be possible via SoA modern architecture, which is emphasized in the journal published in the year 2014 (Su, X.Y., et al., 2014. A service oriented tele-health promotion information system with mobile application. Procedia Computer Science, 37, pp.274–281). The integration of Applications which has got some relevancy and homogeneity needs interoperable communications in health care systems. Decision making support can also be possible through the above said scenario which is accomplished through SoA [21]. In the research work 21 relevant papers were analyzed in deep and identified the gap about the methodology is the strenuous job. The real theme of the research work is to provide quicker information’s to the customers without making them in starvations.

AbstractCystic fibrosis (CF) is now more common in adults than children in countries with well-developed health care systems. The number of adults continues to increase and will further increase if the new cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators are disease modifying. Most of the complex morbidity and almost all the mortality of CF occur in adults and will increasingly follow this pattern even with new effective modulator therapies. Maintaining good quality of life including social functioning and maximizing survival for adults are the key priorities. This requires a highly knowledgeable and adaptable multidisciplinary team, which, though focused on maintaining lung health, requires an increasing range of other disciplines and specialties to maximize well-being. Changes in health care systems will require current models of care to adapt to provide care for the large number of adult patients. With increasing survival and age, many are likely to have both CF morbidities and additional diseases of aging. New models are needed for health care delivery for this expanding population with complex medical conditions.

Central to any understanding of archaic Roman criminal law is the trial, as recorded by Livy, of Horatius for killing his sister. It is not just that the case raises so many legal issues; the jurisdiction of the father (paterfamilias) and of the king, the institution of a separate state procedure with two judges (the duoviri), the right of appeal to the people, the scope of the crime of perduellio (usually roughly translated as ‘treason’) and of parricidium, murder, and the use of sacral punishment. But also, on the ability to determine how accurate for the period of King Tullus Hostilius is this account of law and legal procedure will depend our wider appreciation of the reliability of the sources. It must be admitted that almost all modern scholars regard Livy's account as quite untrustworthy.

AbstractWithout any doubt, in times of crisis, as the one we have been currently living for years, the right to work has been particularly affected. It is a Fundamental Human Right, as it is expressed in the Universal Declarationof Human Rights, shaping this “common ideal” towards which all the people and nations must try to achieve. In Spain, unemployment has reached such levels that it has become the main subject of preoccupation among Spaniards (in almost all families, there is at least one unemployed individual). The situation is devastating, as almost 6 million of people are unemployed, urging the country to carry on its labour reforms, implementing active policies that enable to reduce this number and to normalize the labour market. It will be also important to adopt some measures to protect millions of unemployed individuals who, having no job, (as the main source of income for them), are lacking the necessary means to cope with the basic needs of themselves and their families.

OBJECTIVE: To explore Greek Cypriot women’s perceptions of their right to choose the place of childbirth.DESIGN: This study is qualitative and is based on Husserl’s phenomenological approach. The field work extended over a 6-month period in 2010–2011.SETTING: In all cities of the Republic of Cyprus.PARTICIPANTS: Purposive sample of 55 women within 1 year after birth. Forty-eight women were recruited for semistructured interviews and six of them took place in first focus group. The second group consisted of seven women that did not participate in interviews.RESULTS: Women’s perceptions were categorized into four themes: (a) informed choice for birth place, (b) trusting relationship with health professionals, (c) medicalization of childbirth, and (d) safety of the mother and baby.CONCLUSIONS: There is no equity and accessibility in Cyprus maternity care system because it does not provide correct information and accessibility to all birthplace choices. This study demonstrated the need to explore women’s views before formulating policy for maternity care. These views will be helpful for the creation of an innovative evidence-based maternity care policy, taking into account women’s needs, and will be helpful to raise awareness among health professionals for maternity care improvement.IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Ensuring the right for birthplace choices is a social and political necessity that enhances the existing health care systems and health professionals to provide quality and holistic maternity care. Conducting more studies on maternity care in Cyprus will reinforce the aim for improving the health of the women, neonates, and society.

The COVID-19 pandemic has particularly affected Spain in 2020. Although the specific causes and Spain’s response—as well as the aspects to be improved—are yet to be evaluated, many experts agree that this crisis has magnified some of the problems of the Spanish health system, highlighting the problems derived from the cuts in the capacities of the health and public health systems. We assess the current situation from the perspective of the right to health in its twofold dimension: health care and social determinants. For this purpose, we look into the configuration of the right to health in Spain and how the economic crisis and austerity policies affected it. In particular, we consider the impact both on institutional health care systems and in terms of social determinants of health. Finally, we make several proposals for strengthening the right to health.
