In early 2020, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaged countries across the world, causing them to essentially shut down. Communities had to retreat indoors and socially distance from one another. One aspect of life that drastically changed was schooling. It moved from traditional face-to-face spaces to online digital platforms. Students, faculty, and staff across all levels of schooling shifted to teaching and learning vis-a-vis online digital platforms. Those of us connected to the training of the next generation of teachers navigated through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic at the preschool to post-secondary levels as well. This chapter focuses on the authors' experiences as a Black university supervisor and as a Black field placement coordinator.

This paper explores anonymous online learning as a tool to overcome specific teaching and learning issues within Korean post-secondary institutions. The chapter utilizes a survey of a small group of ESL students at a single Korean university to better understand student preferences and opinions about non-traditional learning options and opportunities in Korea. While many students in Korea have not been exposed to online learning, the students surveyed expressed interest in learning online and they were especially interested in collaborative learning opportunities. As more online classes and online learning opportunities start to become available in South Korea, this study explores anonymous online learning as an effective tool to overcome some significant and distinct teaching and learning challenges at Korean post-secondary institutions. The anonymous online learning suggestions and approaches in the paper can be implemented within fully online courses and blended classes but they can also be used as stand-alone online components of traditional face to face and ESL courses.

This paper reports the qualitative findings of a mixed methods research study conducted at three Canadian post-secondary institutions. Called the Meaningful E-learning or MEL project, the study was an exploration of the teaching and learning experiences of faculty and students as well as their perceptions of the benefits and challenges of e-learning. Importantly, e-learning was conceptualized as the integration of pedagogy, instructional technology, and the Internet into teaching and learning environments. Based on this definition, participants reflected on e-learning in relation to one or more of the following contexts: face-to-face (f2f) classrooms in which instructional technologies (e.g. learning management systems, video and web-conferencing, mobile devices, etc.) are used; blended or web-enhanced learning environments; and fully online learning environments. Data collected for the study included survey data (n=1377 for students, n=187 for faculty); narrative comments (n=269 for students, n=74 for faculty); and focus groups (n=16 for students, n=33 for faculty). The latter two sets of data comprise the basis of this paper. Four major themes emerged based on the responses of students and faculty. Represented by the acronym HIDI, the themes include human connection (H), IT support (I), design (D), and institutional infrastructure (I). These themes and sub-themes are presented in the paper as well as recommendations for educators and administrators who aspire to make e-learning a pedagogically meaningful experience for both learners and their teachers.

‘Covid-19 and Me’ was an affective learning blog post exercise assigned to 1st year undergraduate students taking a medical anthropology module at the start of academic year 2020-21.  We describe the way in which a collective analysis of the accounts was undertaken and how these were presented and discussed in a set of online and face-to-face seminars. We discuss whether Covid-19 was indeed a ‘portal’ in Arundhati Roy’s use of the term, arguing that it was the written reflection and collective anthropological analysis of their accounts, rather than the virus itself, that enabled students to ‘imagine the world anew’.

To be able to realize the next generation of the Prophet's struggle, professional Islamic teachers are needed, namely teachers who are able to educate their students to become the next generation of the Prophet's struggle. It also requires the ability of teachers to use varied learning methods, productive learning strategies and modern educational media. It is also necessary to provide adequate infrastructure that can support teachers in carrying out the teaching and learning process well and attract students' interest. By knowing the characteristics of this millennial generation, the world of education can play a role and adjust learning strategies in such a way as to bring this millennial generation to an optimal level of success.

Through face-to-face interviews with lecturers, this research explored the relevancy of new higher education approaches in Zimbabwe particularly Education 5.0 and virtual learning environments (VLEs). The main finding suggests that the five missions of Education 5.0 are not new in higher education and training in the country. However, they being nigh on greased following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID 19) is exceptional and unplanned for up take. Education 5.0 charges that turned to be virtually oiled have already been cherished under the auspices of Education 3.0. Thus, lecturers do not perceive it as new. But, only the means and ways upon which it is delivered to learners in the COVID 19 era. The hype around it coming from the ‘Second Republic’ government is factory-made and politically calculated. Besides, it is difficult to underpin the development given the economic problems the country is currently facing. This research also finds out that VLEs are just more than a saga in Zimbabwe since she still lags behind the world order of internet of things. A few of the interviewees were of the view that teaching and learning though virtual means and ways is not different from the old face-to-face model.

Abstract: Pandemic Covid-19 has had a direct impact on the world of education. The limitation of the crowd in community activities in public places causes the world of education to maximize the use of information and communication technology as a medium for distance learning or online. This encourages educators/ teachers to formulate alternatives for distance learning media by adapting them according to the conditions of available facilities and infrastructure, and mastering the use of a number of digital platforms that can be used as alternative learning media. This digital-based learning innovation training activity aims to introduce and assist the use of several digital learning media in one of the schools, namely SMK Lingua Prima Indralaya. Assessment of the success of the training held was carried out through a pretest and post-test. Assistance is carried out so that teachers understand and gain insight in formulating innovative learning methods in the implementation of the distance or online teaching and learning process. In this training, introduction and assistance were carried out related to the use of audio podcasts, maximizing the function of social media and also designing materials with attractive and innovative PowerPoint templates. Keywords: digital based learning; effective learning; pandemic period  Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 telah berdampak secara langsung terhadap dunia pendidikan. The Covid-19 pandemic, which has swept the world for almost two, years has changed the implementation of education in Indonesia. Learning that was previously always done face-to-face has now been shifted to distance learning, which in its performance is a challenge, especially for mathematics teachers. So far, the problems faced by teachers are difficulties in making students more enthusiastic in learning during the online learning period and challenges in developing students' thinking skills. A learning model is needed that can train students so that during online learning, students can still practice improving their 4C thinking skills. This research is a descriptive study in the form of a literature review conducted by reviewing several literatures. Based on the literature review, it can be seen that one approach that can be used is a project-based Quantum Teaching and Learning (QTL) approach which can be presented in web form so that students are more motivated during the online learning period. Based on theoretical studies from several articles, it is known that learning QTL can increase students' learning motivation because QTL is taught according to students' thinking. Giving projects that are in accordance with students' interests can be added to QTL learning to train students to improve 4C thinking skills.

Teaching and learning are activities carried out in accordance with the curriculum set by the government to help students to obtain a good education. Before the pandemic, the teaching and learning process was carried out offline (face to face) in classrooms with students and teachers. Since the Covid 19 pandemic entered Indonesia, the teaching and learning process was carried out online, namely at home. This teaching and learning process is carried out to break the chain of transmission of Covid 19 in Indonesia. The use of internet media in the teaching and learning process in the world of education during a pandemic is a way out, where students and teachers cannot carry out face-to-face learning. By using Google Classroom teachers can provide materials, assignments, and exercises by uploading them via Google Classroom, students can download materials, assignments and exercises that have been uploaded from Google Classroom.

The Covid 19 pandemic is a disease outbreak that affects all citizens of the world today and has an impact on various sectors of human life. One of the sectors affected by Covid 19 is the education sector. The government requires all people to minimize face-to-face teaching and learning activities to avoid the spread of the Covid 19 virus, one of which is by using online learning. This certainly raises a number of polemics, especially in the supervision of learning that is not optimal due to online learning.Islam as a religion that teaches its people to learn and study knowledge certainly has a solution to these problems which can be used as a reference in conducting tutoring in the current new normal era.
