In recent years, e-learning has become pivotal in higher education sectors. Researchers are correlating novel approaches with e-learning to facilitate education. However, despite the increase in e-learning research, there is still a lack of comprehensive literature analysis of e-learning in the higher education sector. Thus, this study aims to conduct a systematic literature review of the literature on e-learning in higher education. This study classifies the selected studies according to the focus of the study, utilizes a theoretical model and framework, and research methods. Also, it presents limitations and future research directions of e-learning in the higher education sector. A systematic approach is conducted, and a total of 47 relevant articles published between the year 2011 and 2019 were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings on selected studies focus on the adoption, acceptance, readiness, and user insight, as well as e-learning expansion and challenges in the higher education sector. This study also classified theoretical models and frameworks based on their usage in the pre-adoption, adoption, and post-adoption stages. The findings revealed that most of the theoretical models and frameworks were used at the post-adoption stage. Nevertheless, this study revealed that most of the current studies in this domain were conducted using a quantitative research approach. Finally, this study highlighted limitations and presented possible future research directions as a guide for further enhancement in e-learning and higher education studies.

Quality Assurance (QA) concepts and applications in Higher Education (HE) emerge from evolving meanings related to HE’s dynamic relationship with social, economic, cultural, and technological developments. The latter has been redefined by the growth spurred by the forms distance and online education acquired during the last decades. Creating a roadmap with clearly articulated meanings of quality and consistent key actions fills a need for the involved communities to reground the research, policy-making, and the related discourse. Our current work consists of a thorough meta-analysis on all available research in every identified pertinent field. It is a qualitative review of the concepts, definitions, and approaches about quality in general, but also specifically, in e-learning in HE, as they have globally appeared in peer-reviewed journals, government reports, and web pages. As we left no stone unturned in enquiring regarding the meanings, uses, evolution, and applicability of the revealed variables it is our hope that the roadmap we provide here will guide future research and support policy-making in the field. The present study is part of the research project e-learning Quality Assurance Design Standards in Higher Education (e-QADeSHE), which was funded by Laureate International Universities as the winning research project for the International David Wilson Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (2015 edition).

This piece of research was specifically carried out in the field of translation pedagogy. It aims to measure the impact of attending and participating in translation conferences on translation education as perceived by a random sample of thirty-three translation instructors working at several universities in different countries. To this end, quantitative research method was employed in the study to yield answers to a couple of research questions. On this, the instructors were reached online to participate in responding to a researcher-made questionnaire of 18 - closed items. An SPSS analysis (version 24) was used to interpret the data elicited from the aforementioned research instrument. Having the data processed, the findings revealed that attending and participating in translation conferences is to be considered a major source for university translation programs to develop the implementation of translation didactics and pedagogies. Moreover, positive attitudes were developed in the study towards the practicality of integrating what could be seen innovative of translation conferences proceedings into translation education at the tertiary level. In the light of the study's findings, the researcher presents a number of pedagogical implications that would be taken into consideration to overhaul the existing university translation programs. Finally, a glance at some practical ideas is made for future research to explore new horizons in translation education in various teaching contexts.

There are many different debates regarding the time spent on Instagram by social media addiction and life satisfaction. In consequence, in this research, it is aimed to reveal the variables that predict the time spent on Instagram by university students. The research is done in accordance with the causal and correlation model by using a quantitative research method. The results of the research are predicted by the time spent on Instagram, gender, age and social media addiction. Time spent on Instagram differentiates in accordance with the level of social media addiction (Sig = 0.00, p < 0.05) but does not differentiate by life satisfaction (Sig = 0.06, p > 0.05). As social media addiction increases, life satisfaction decreases (r = −0.19). Women spent 0.42 times more time, and the women at the age of 21–22 years spent 0.38 times more time on Instagram. Keywords: Instagram, life satisfaction, social media, addiction.

The study investigated the Quality Improvement Practices (QIP) of selected small medium industries (SMIs hereafter) namely the E&E manufacturers in Malaysia. The objectives of this study are to investigate the influence of the quality improvement practices (QIP) among Malaysian E&E manufacturers on their compliance performance. The quality improvement level of twelve QIP; seven soft factors and five hard factors, were determined in the study. Later, the improvement level of the QIP was compared according to the manufacturers’ size, ownership, length of operation, and ISO status. A quantitative research method, which involved the distribution of a set of questionnaires, was used in the study. Another important aspect of the research is to identify relevant soft and hard factors that need emphasis in future trainings by the QIP trainers. As the sole assessor of Product Certification compliance for the manufacturers in Malaysia, SIRIM QAS has the data on the Malaysian manufacturers’ compliance performances. Based on the data, it can be concluded that Malaysian SMIs are still struggling in implementing quality improvement practices. The data has yielded interesting findings related to the identified soft and hard factors that need further emphasis in future trainings. The findings provided recommendations for future trainers of QIP.
