In order to achieve high thrust density and low thrust ripple simultaneously, a multiobjective optimization design method is applied to ironless permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with non-overlapping windings. On the basis of the magnetic field analysis model, the analytical formulae of key parameters such as No-load back EMF, thrust per copper quality and thrust ripple was deduced. Further, a multiobjective optimization is carried out by genetic algorithm to search for the optimal design variables. The design optimization is verified by 2-D Finite Element analysis and experimental results of the prototype.

To more efficiently design high performance vehicular permanent magnet motor, an electromagnetic-thermal integration design method is presented, which considers both the electromagnetic properties and the temperature rise of motor winding when determining the main dimensional parameters of the motor. Then a 48-slot and 8-pole vehicular permanent magnet motor is designed with this method. The thermomagnetic coupling design is simulated and validated on the basis of multiphysical domain on finite element analysis. Then the prototype is analyzed and tested on a newly built motor experiment platform. It is shown that the simulation results and experimental results are consistent, which validate the accuracy and effectiveness of the new design method. Also this method is proved to well improve the efficiency of permanent magnet motor design.

Permanent magnet linear motors can cause thrust fluctuation due to cogging and end effects, which will affect the operation stability of the linear motor. In order to solve this problem, a new method of eliminating alveolar force by using phase-shifting and displacement is proposed in this paper. Taking the cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor as an example, the traditional cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor is divided into two unit-motors, and established finite element analysis model of cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor. It is different from other traditional methods, the thrust fluctuation was reduced by both phase-shifting and displacement simultaneously in this paper, and through simulation analysis, it is determined that the thrust fluctuation suppression effect was the best when the cogging distance was shifted by half. Furthermore, a comparative simulation was made on whether the magnetic insulating material was used. The simulation results show that: The method proposed in this paper can effectively suppress the thrust fluctuation of the cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor. And it can be applied to other similar motor designs. Compared with the traditional method of suppressing thrust fluctuation, the mechanical structure and the technological process of suppressing thrust fluctuation used in this method are simpler.

The aerodynamic performance, structural strength and wheel weight are three important factors in the design process of the radial turbine. This paper presents an investigation on these aspects and develops an optimization design approach for radial turbine with consideration of the three factors. The aerodynamic design for the turbine wheel with inlet diameter of 230mm for 100kW-class microturbine unit is carried out firstly as the original design. Then, the cylinder parabolic geometrical design method is applied to the wheel modeling and structural design, but the maximum stress predicted by Finite Element Analysis greatly exceeds the yield limit of material. Furthermore, the wheel weight is above 7.2kg thus bringing some critical difficulties for bearing design and turbine operation. Therefore, an integrated optimization design method for radial turbine is studied and developed in this paper with focus on the wheel design. Meridional profiles and shape lines of turbine wheel are optimized with consideration of the whole wheel weight. Main structural modeling parameters are reselected to reduce the wheel weight. Trade-off between aerodynamic performance and strength performance is highly emphasized during the optimization design. The results show that the optimized turbine wheel gets high aerodynamic performance and acceptable stress distribution with the weight less than 3.8kg.

This paper uses ANSYS 10.0 software to analyze and calculate electromagnetic field of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator(PMSG). Verify rationality of magnetic circuit by the results of magnetic flux density and magnetic field intensity; optimize shape of permanent magnet and reduce harmonics quantity by air-gap flux density harmonics analysis, and use value to solve Electromotive Force(EMF). The simulation result proves that the model satisfies the design requirements and can provide theoretical guide for the optimization design of PMSG.

A lecture on the method to compute the the stress of V-tooth coupling under the actual operating conditions. the finite element analysis model of V-tooth coupling under the preload, axial load and torsion was established by used of the software ABAQUS,and the distribution of the bending stress at the root was obtained. The analytical method to compute the bending stress of V-tooth disk is deduced based on the basic principle of material mechanics, and the relative error within 10% compared with the results of finite element analysis. The paper work provide the reference for the precision design of V-tooth coupling.

The prediction of the magnetic field is a prerequisite to investigate the motor performance. This paper focuses on the magnetic field estimation of surface-mounted permanent-magnet (SMPM) motors based on two approximations, i.e., the magnetic circuit analysis and the finite-element analysis (FEA). An equivalent magnetic circuit model is applied to analytically evaluate the magnetic field of a SMPM motor with exterior-rotor configuration. The two-dimensional FEA is then applied to numerically calculate the magnetic field and to verify the validity of the magnetic circuit model. The results show that the errors between the analytical predictions and FEA results are less than 6%. It is of benefit to further design purposes and optimization of SMPM motors.

Based on practical engineering, numerical analysis model was established by using finite element analysis software. The rules about raft settlement, pile-top counterforce, soil counterforce were analysed after variable pile diameter. It is more favorable on settlement and counterforce after variable pile diameter than Original design. There is important academic significance and application value on pile raft foundation optimal design.

Based on the principle of orthogonal test, the optimization model of sunflower shaped arch bridge scheme was set up. The five key design parameters were selected as the main factors. The four computation index, which reflect mechanical performance, were selected as analytical objects. The 16 orthogonal experiment schemes were arranged with four levels orthogonal table . The curves of the factors to the index were obtained from the mechanical response under dead load and live load through the finite element analysis model. By the range analysis method, the influential levels of the factors to the index were obtained from the result of the test , and the factor optimizatuion level of the factors was determined to further optimize the layout scheme of the sunfloawer shaped arch bridge.
