The reasons why the producing of the difference in temperature distributing and thermal stresses of box aqueduct under solar radiation are analyzed. The difference in temperature distributing and thermal stresses are effectively simulated by the finite element software ANSYS.The calculation results indicate that concrete box aqueduct body inter-surface whatever along the longitudinal and transverse will produce considerable thermal stresses under solar radiation, and its value has exceeded the design of concrete tensile strength. Therefore, the thermal stresses under the solar radiation must be considered in the design of box aqueduct body structural. We should appropriately configure temperature reinforcing steel bar.

For the purpose of the study of the mechanical mechanism of beam-reduction and rib-addition strengthening method as well as the difference between hinged beam method and rigidly connected beam method, finite element models are established for hollow slab bridge before and after strengthening respectively with the finite element software Ansys. The stress distributions on hollow slab bridge before and after strengthening are compared through numerical simulation analysis. The improvement effects of beam-reduction and rib-addition method on the transverse connection and stress state of hollow slab bridge are analyzed at the same time. It is proved that this strengthening method is of obvious effect and the bearing capacity of the existing bridge can be greatly enhanced. Meanwhile, the result of numerical simulation analysis shows that the beam-reduction and rib-addition hinged beam method and rigidly connected beam method have the similar effects. Both of them result in much improvement of transverse distribution and enhancement of transverse connection. But the rigidly connected beam method has a better overall rigidity and a tighter transverse connection. Its improvement effect on the stress state of the old beam slab is superior to that of the hinged beam method.

In this paper, we establish the mechanical property analysis of Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNTs) modified beam element model based on the molecular structural mechanics method. Then we study the mechanical properties of their radial direction characteristics using the finite element software Abaqus. The model simulated the different bending stiffness with rectangular section beam elements C-C chemical force field. When the graphene curled into arbitrary chirality of SWCNTs spatial structure, the adjacent beam position will change the moment of inertia of the section of the beam. Compared with the original beam element model and the calculation results, we found that the established model largely reduced the overestimate of the original model of mechanical properties on the radial direction of the SWCNTs. At the same time, compared with other methods available in the literature results and the experimental data, the results can be in good agreement.

Using the finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA for the universal rolling machine to simulate, research unit of the universal rolling deformation etc, and the use of universal mill for heavy rail rolling to simulate of lead samples, study of both. By comparing experimental results, the results show rolling simulation of laboratory lead samples and finite element simulations of computer are basically the same, use the universal pass, the difference of pressure coefficient for the rail head and rail base and rail back that work on the workpiece at the universal pass is small, deformation of workpiece is uniformity, it ensure the dimensional accuracy of the finished rail on the rail section.

The finite element model of the space KX-Joint was established using ANSYS software, and the failure mode and ultimate bearing capacity of KX-joint were researched. Calculation results show that the surface of chord wall on the roots of compression web members was into the plastic in K plane, and the holding pole without the plastic area and the local buckling failure happened in the surface of chord wall on the roots of Compression Web Members in X plane; The bearing capacity of the joint increased with the Chord diameter, which was appears in the form of power function.

The fishing deck machinery is the tools used to collect fish in fishing activities. Fishing deck machinery is intended to improve the effectiveness of fishing operations. The mission of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fishery Year 2015-2019 in the Regulation of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 45/PERMEN-KP/2015 which is a priority is to provide assistance for fishing facilities for fishermen; it is necessary to develop and optimize fishing deck machinery. To assure the safety and dependability of these fishing deck machinery, calculations, simulation and functional tests are needed. This paper discusses the prediction of structural failure in the design of fishing deck machinery a hydraulic type with finite element method simulation approach. The results of the FEM simulation analysis are (i) the maximum value of von-Mises stress is greater than the ultimate tensile strength of the material; (ii) 1st principal stress value minimum is smaller than the ultimate tensile strength of material; (iii). the Poisson ratio value higher than the Poisson ratio value of the material. Base on the simulation result, the structural design of fishing deck machinery is safety.

This paper presents the development of a numerical model aimed at the simulation of nonlinear behaviour of traditional joints between walls made of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) masonry units. Nonlinear behaviour and cracking of AAC and mortar were simulated using the concrete damaged plasticity (CDP) model available in the ABAQUS finite element software. The paper also presents and discusses the results of an experimental campaign involving testing six T-shaped, monosymmetric samples with traditional joints between walls loaded in shear. The results were used to validate the numerical model. The validation confirmed that the model is capable of producing accurate results and predicting the structural behaviour with a reasonably good accuracy in elastic and post-elastic stages. Furthermore, a sensitivity study was conducted, in which the variation of elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, tensile strength, compression strength and fracture energy of AAC was investigated. Results showed that the variation of elastic modulus, tensile strength and fracture energy is most critical to the structural behaviour of the model, while variation of the remaining parameters has a negligible effect on the results.

This paper adopts general finite element software to carry out three-dimensional finite element simulation analysis for Huizeli reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct. Considering four combination cases in aqueduct’s construction and operating process, researching variation laws of the aqueduct’s stress and displacement. Analysis results show that design scheme of Huizeli reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct is reasonable, it can meet design requirements. Analysis results provide some theory references for design of reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct.

The geological environment along a buried pipeline in permafrost regions is complex, where differential frost heave often occurs. To understand the changes in the stress behavior of pipeline structures caused by corrosion while laying them in permafrost regions, we established a thermo-mechanical coupling model of buried pipeline with corrosion defects by using finite element software. Numerical simulation analysis of buried pipeline was conducted. The effects of the frost heave length, the length of the transition section, the corrosion depth, and the corrosion length on the stress displacement were obtained. These analyses showed that the stresses and displacements of the pipeline with corrosion defects in permafrost regions can be simulated by using the finite element software numerical simulation method. Afterward, the corrosion resistances of pipelines with different corrosion lengths and depths were investigated via an electrochemical testing method. These results can provide some useful insights into the possible mechanical state of buried pipeline with regard to their design and construction, as well as some useful theoretical references for simulating real-time monitoring and safety analysis for their operation in permafrost regions.

Taking the concrete pouring for a passenger station’s pile cap as the research background, the paper establishes a model of pile cap’s hydration heat, by using the finite element software MIDAS. The paper also studies the main parameters and the temperature field theory which affect the hydration heat. It indicates that the pipe cooling method can significantly reduce the temperature difference between the inside and the outside when pouring massive concretes, and it is an effective way to prevent the generation of cracks.

The author performs simulation analysis on construction process of roofing prestressed concrete beam of comprehensive service center in Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture by finite element software Midas/Gen, so as to determine the monitoring programme according to the analysis results. The monitoring results indicate that the structure is safe; the theoretical value of simulation analysis is well matched with actual monitoring value, which means that the finite element model of construction process of roofing prestressed concrete beam is correct, the simulation method is feasible and the construction process is reasonable. It has important reference value for construction and monitoring of subsequent similar projects.
