ABSTRACT Context: Tuberculum sellae meningiomas have proved difficult to treat, partly because of their intimate association with the optic nerves and chiasma, hypothalamus, and internal carotid arteries. Aims: The aim of this study is to analyze the degree of influence of various prognostic factors affecting visual outcome; the pattern of visual recovery and develop a scoring system for prognostication. Settings and Design: This is a retrospective study carried out from January 2004 till June 2011. Materials and Methods: Patients were analyzed on the basis of clinical, radiological, and surgical factors that appeared to affect the outcome. A special scoring system (according to the guidelines of the German Ophthalmological Society) was adopted to quantify the extent of ophthalmological disturbances. Statistical Analysis Used: Comparison of categorical variables between the two was performed using chi-square test and a P value of ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Logistic regression was used when multivariate analysis was required. Results: Vision improved in 27% and deteriorated in 7.3%. A prognostic scoring system (score 4–13) was developed depending on the degree of influence of significant prognostic factors. The patients with a score of ≤6 had improved vision postoperatively (44%), whereas none of those with a score > 6 improved. Completeness of visual recovery was perceived in 100% of patients within 3 months. Complete resectability was achieved in 73% of patients. Conclusions: The proposed scoring system is very useful in prognosticating the visual outcome of these patients. The patients with a score of ≤6 have the best visual outcome postoperatively. Complete resectability is better achieved with extended bifrontal and unilateral frontal approaches. Short-term postoperative visual outcome is a strong indicator of permanent visual outcome after surgery.

498 Background: Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) is known as a negative prognostic factor in colon cancer (CCa) patients (pts). Sentinel lymph node mapping (SLNM) is known to upstage more pts than conventional surgery. A retrospective study was undertaken to determine the relationship between LVI and other known prognostic factors in CCa pts undergoing SLNM. Methods: Pts with CCa underwent SLNM. Data was collected for tumor (T) and node (N) stage, distant metastasis (M), size, grade, recurrence, and 5-year overall survival (5yrOS). Chi-square analysis was used to calculate the association between categorical variables with a p value of 0.05 as significant. Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate 5yrOS. Results: We studied 310 CCa pts undergoing SLNM. Success rate was 100%. Nodal positivity was 46%. LVI was present in 34% of pts overall, in 66% node +ve pts versus only 7% in node -ve pts (p<0.001). Pts with LVI were proportionately of higher grade, larger size, higher T-stage, node +ve and higher AJCC stage. Pts with LVI had significantly higher recurrence and lower 5yrOS (Table). Conclusions: Presence of LVI positively correlated with all known prognostic factors in CCa pts undergoing SLNM, with higher recurrence and significantly lower 5yrOS. [Table: see text]

The purpose of this research is to investigate the variables that affect the use of medical services. At the Putri Hijau Level II Hospital, you may get checked out. It was decided to employ a kuantitatif research design with a cross sectional design for this particular investigation. Patients who came in for a medical check-up at the Putri Hijau Level II Hospital were included in the research study. According to the results of the first survey, the total number of patients who had medical examinations in 2019 was 2135 individuals. We needed to look at 100 different individuals for our experiment. The chi square test and multiple linear regression were the statistical tests that were used. The results of the chi square test study revealed that the variable service quality (reliability p-value = 0,000, responsiveness p-value = 0,000, assurance p-value = 0,036, empathy p-value = 0,003, physical evidence p-value = 0,026) obtained a p-value less than 0.05, the variable facility p-value = 0.000, the variable rate / price p-value = 0.000, and the variable patient perception obtained a p-value Patient views of the use of Medical Check Up services are associated with service quality (reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, physical evidence) as well as medical facilities, rates / pricing and patient perceptions of the usage of Medical Check Up services (p-value = 0.039 0.05). Using multivariate analysis, it was discovered that one of the variables in this research, the Facility variable, had the most influence on the outcome.

Objectives: The objective is to compare the radiological outcome of closedinterlock intramedullary nailing versus dynamic compression plating in closed tibial fracture.Study Design: Randomized controlled trials. Setting: Department of orthopedics NishtarHospital Multan. Period: 9th July 2016 to March 2017. Methodology: There were 302 patientsdivided in two equal groups of 151. Permission was taken from the ethical committee of NishtarHospital. The 302 patients in age group 20-50 years of both genders meeting the inclusionand exclusion criteria attending the outpatient clinic or admitted to the orthopedics departmentthrough emergency were included in the study. All the data entered and analyzed usingcomputer software SPSS version 10. For quantitative variables like age and duration of fracturemean and standard deviation was calculated. For categorical variables like gender, malunionand infection frequency and percentage were calculated. Chi-square test was applied tocompare the malunion and infection in both groups. A p value 0.05 was considered statisticallysignificant. Results: The 100% (n=302) patients were divided into 2 groups equally, 151 ineach, i.e. intramedullary nail (group 1) and dynamic compression plating (group 2). The mainoutcome variables of this study were the malunion and infection. It was observed that malunionpresented as 57% (n=86) and 70.9% (n=107) in group 1 and group 2 respectively. It was alsoobserved that infection presented as 23.2% (n=35) and 37.1% (n=56) in group 1 and group 2respectively. After applying chi-square test, it was noted that malunion associated with groupshaving p-value 0.012. But it was not associated with gender, stratified age and duration offracture having p-values 0.497, 0.800 and 0.218 respectively. Similarly, after applying chi-squaretest, it was noted that infection associated with gender and groups having p-values 0.007 and0.008 respectively. But it was not associated with stratified age and duration of fracture havingp-values 0.565 and 0.344 respectively. Conclusion: Closed interlock intramedullary nailinghas malunion and infection rates less than dynamic compression plating. So closed interlockintramedullary nailing is preferred method of closed tibia diaphyseal fracture treatment.

Nausea and vomiting should be further checked and prevented, because these conditions can be a cause or complication during hemodialysis patients. Electrolyte and water imbalance (dehydration) can be considered as the main complication of nausea and vomiting itself. The aim of this study was to determine the factors that influence the severity of nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This type of research is quantitative with analytic descriptive method, with an approach using a retrospective cohort research design. The sampling technique in this study was a total sampling technique with a total sample of 57 patients. The research instrument used questionnaires and observations, data analysis using the Chi Square test and simple logistic regression analysis. The location of the study was the hemodialysis therapy site at the Islamic Hospital in Purwokerto in January-February 2020. The results showed that most of the respondents with the severity of nausea and vomiting, the patient's diet was not balanced (61.4%), the excess fluid had edema (63.2%), the gender was male (59.6%), female (40.4%). %), age 18-65 (57.9%), duration of HD <12 months (64.9%) and 58 respondents> 12 months (35.1). The results of bivariate analysis using logistic regression, obtained p value of the patient's diet 0.009, excess fluid, age and sex 0.001 and the duration of HD 0.003. From this analysis, there are 5 factors that can cause the severity of nausea and vomiting, namely the patient's diet, excess fluidity, gender, age, and duration of HD.
