Introduction. In this cross-sectional study, the level of knowledge and attitude of elementary school teachers regarding traumatic dental injuries (TDI) were assessed. Materials and Methods. A questionnaire was distributed to 330 elementary school teachers in 30 randomly selected schools in the Emirates of Sharjah and Dubai. The questionnaire collected information on participants’ demographic characteristics, first aid training, and attitude about emergency management of TDI. Results. 292 teachers (88%) completed the questionnaires; of these, 95% were females, and 50% of the participants had first aid training. Knowledge about tooth avulsion was inadequate, and first aid training was not associated with correct responses to management of avulsed teeth (p>0.05). A significantly higher percentage of younger teachers (p<0.05) expressed the need for future education on TDI management. A significantly higher percentage of participants who had an educational position (95%) indicated that they did not have enough knowledge regarding TDI compared to physical education teachers (79%) and administrators (87%) (p<0.05). Conclusions. Elementary school teachers in the UAE have a low level of knowledge regarding the management of dental trauma. Educational programs that address TDI are needed and could improve the elementary school teachers’ level of knowledge in emergency management of TDI.

Background : flavor enhancing food additives are often added as a flavor enhancer known as MSG that exceed the dose . if the addition of the additive is often done to cause dependence , so it will pose a health hazard to the consumer , such as stomach disorders, allergies , hypertension , asthma , cancer , diabetes , and lower intelligence. Most housewives do not know the information would adversely affect health. Objective : This study aims to describe the level of knowledge of the use of monosodium glutamate ( MSG ) housewife in backwoods village sauleya timbuseng Polongbangkeng northern districts Kab.Takalar. Methods : This is a descriptive study. samples are all housewives in the hamlet village sauleya timbuseng Polongbangkeng northern districts Kab. Takalar , who meet the criteria as much as 49 people . Data on the use MSG knowledge samples obtained by the interview method which uses a questionnaire instrument.the data presented in the from of frequency distribution graphic and narrative. Result : Results of research on the use of knowledge MSG housewives generally less category as many as 25 ( 51.0 % ) , use of MSG housewives generally can not be tolerated as many as 36 ( 73.5 % ). Conclusion : Knowledge of the use of MSG housewife classified as less and use MSG can not be tolerated.

One of the most important stage in women`s life is menopause. The word menopause simply refers to the last menstrual period which is defined by not having had a period in 12 months. The average age of menopause in western world is 51 years while as in India it is 47.5 years and the normal age range for the occurrence of menopause is somewhat between the age of 45 and 55 years. A descriptive study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge regarding menopause among rural women of age group 45-55 years at Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. The objectives were to assess the level of knowledge regarding menopause among rural women of age group 45-55 years at Kot Bhalwal, Jammu and to associate the level of knowledge regarding menopause with their selected socio demographic variables. Quantitative approach, descriptive research design was used. 100 women of 45–55 years age who fulfil the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected using purposive sampling technique. A self-structured questionnaire was developed for the study. The tool was tested for content validity and reliability prior to the study. The collected data was tabulated, analysed and interpreted by using descriptive and inferential statistics and findings showed that majority of the sample 97(97%) had below average level of knowledge, 3(3%) had average level of knowledge and 0(0%) had above average level of knowledge and there was no significant association between the selected socio-demographic variables and the level of knowledge.

Resumen:Se estudia si la percepción de los conocimientos profesionales (disciplinares y pedagógicos) de las educadoras de párvulos de Chile está asociada al nivel de conocimientos que realmente tienen. Con este fin se aplicaron dos instrumentos de recogida de datos, previamente validados. El primero fue un cuestionario diseñado sobre la Encuesta Nacional Docente realizada por el Ministerio de Educación de Chile. El segundo fue la prueba INICIA (Ministerio de Educación de Chile, 2013), aplicada anualmente a los alumnos egresados de las carreras de educación parvularia. Los resultados indican que el nivel de conocimientos técnicos y pedagógicos de las educadoras de párvulos es extremadamente bajo, lo que se ve agravado por una falsa percepción acerca de su nivel de formación disciplinar y pedagógica. Las conclusiones apuntan a que la profesión de educadora de párvulos en Chile tiene un gran desafío formativo por delante. Abstract:It examines whether the perception of professional knowledge (disciplinary and pedagogical) of preschool teachers in Chile is associated with the level of knowledge they actually have. With this aim, two instruments of data collection were applied, previously validated. The first was a questionnaire designed on National Teacher Survey conducted by the Ministry of Education of Chile. The second one was the INICIA (Ministry of Education of Chile, 2013), applied annually to the pupils of nursery education. The results indicate that the level of technical and pedagogical knowledge of pre-school teachers is extremely low, which is exacerbated by a false perception of their level of disciplinary and pedagogical training. The findings suggest that the profession of nursery teachers in Chile has a great educational challenge ahead.

Aim. To study the demand for the massive open online course on basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and to evaluate effects of the training based on the socio-demographic profile of the audience.Material and methods. The data obtained from a survey conducted on participants of the online course «First Aid in Cardiac Arrest (Basic Resuscitation)» during a one-year period (07.2018–07.2019) were analyzed, including demographic data, initial and final levels of knowledge on CPR, and willingness to resuscitate a stranger. The 5-point Lickert scale was used for self-assessment of knowledge and willingness to attempt CPR.Results. The analysis includes data collected from 11,924 people, out of which 3,445 (29%) have completed the training. Eighty percent of participants live in the Russian Federation. The mean age of trainees, who completed the course, was 25.7 years, 45% of them were males, 42% had learnt CPR previously, 12% had medical education. As a result of the training, a significant increase (P<0.001) in the willingness to attempt CPR (from 3.26 to 4.16 points) and an increase in self-perceived CPR knowledge (from 2.24 to 3.98 points) were registered. The percentage of trainees who expressed a high level of willingness to perform CPR (4–5 points) increased from 44% to 81% (P<0.001). The course was more likely to be completed by those trainees who had previous training in CPR (p<0.001), who initially demonstrated higher willingness to provide CPR (P=0.003) or a higher level of knowledge in CPR (P<0.001). Trainees who had previous CPR training showed a much higher level of knowledge, higher self-confidence and a higher level of readiness to provide CPR (P<0.001). Approximately 14% of trainees with medical education reported having no previous training in CPR.Conclusions. The massive open online course promotes knowledge of CPR and serves as an important tool for increasing the willingness of lay people to provide first aid in case of cardiac arrest. Previous CPR training is a motivating factor to continue education in resuscitation.

BACKGROUND Nomophobia an abbreviation for “no-mobile phone phobia” is a fear of being out of mobile phone contact. We wanted to assess the prevalence of nomophobia, knowledge regarding smartphone use, and effect of using smart phones among college students. METHODS A descriptive study was conducted among 250 college students who were perceiving bachelor’s degree in arts in selected colleges of district Fatehabad, Haryana. Nomophobia scale, structured knowledge questionnaire, and checklist were used to collect data. The collected data was statistically analysed by using SPSS Ver. 23. RESULTS The study findings reveal that majority, 140 (56.0 %) of samples have moderate levels of nomophobia. 203 (81.2 %) samples have good knowledge level regarding smartphone. Majority, 188 (75.2 %) of samples had moderate level of effect on their life due to smartphone use. There is significant association between level of nomophobia of samples with years of using mobile phone and frequent reason of using mobile phone. There is significant association between level of knowledge of samples with their age and their education level. There is positive correlation between level of nomophobia and effects of using smart phone among college students. There is negative correlation between level of knowledge and effects of using smart phone. CONCLUSIONS The study findings provide statistical evidence which clearly indicates that there is prevalence of nomophobia and adverse effects of using smartphone on their life. Background: Childhood asthma is affected by events and conditions of the school environment. Teachers as de-facto caregivers of children with asthma have a major role to play in ensuring good asthma control in school. This study set out to determine the level of knowledge of school teacher about childhood asthma and factors influencing this knowledge.Methods: Four secondary schools (two private and two public) in Ilesa, South West Nigeria were selected by multistage sampling method. All the teachers in these schools were required to fill a self -administered questionnaire incorporating a validated 40-item asthma knowledge questions. Factors associated with the level of knowledge were determined appropriately.Results: A total of 132 teacher (M: F = 1:2) participated in the study with 85 (64.4%) from private school. The mean (SD) age of the teachers was 38.0 (9.1) years and median (IQR) years in teaching service was 7.0 (5.0 to 15.0) years. Majority (56.1%) of the teachers had university education while only 7 (5.3%) had a post graduate degree. The mean (SD) score of the 40 item questions was 21.5 (7.2) and majority (51.5%) had poor asthma knowledge (score < 22). Poorer knowledge was observed in questions related to the nature and management of childhood asthma than triggers and manifestations. No significant correlation was found between knowledge and age, teaching experience and qualifications (p > 0.05). However, teachers with previous training about childhood asthma had relatively good knowledge about the condition. (p <0.05)Conclusion: The level of knowledge about childhood asthma among school teachers in Ilesa is poor particularly as regards to nature and management of the disease. We advocate for training of school teachers about common childhood conditions including asthma to ensure optimal symptoms control in school.Keywords: Childhood asthma, Knowledge, School teachers

Introduction: School life is an important part of children’s lives, which has a direct impact on their physical and mental health. Knowledge of health promotion and prevention activities encourages initiating first aid activities in society. Objective: To assess the level of knowledge of rural secondary school students following educational intervention on first aid. Methodology: A quasi-experimental study was carried out among 320 secondary school students. Educational intervention on first aid was applied to compare the level of knowledge before and after the intervention. Data were collected by a self-administered structured questionnaire through randomly selected students. Results: Findings showed that most of the respondents (84.2%) were between 12-15 years old and their mean age was 14.3 years. It was also found that the majority 159 (58.5%) of the respondents were male and the rest of them 113 (41.5%) were female. Regarding family type distribution, the majority 192 (70.6%) of the respondents lived in a nuclear family and 80 (29.4%) belong to joint family. In addition, 43 (15.8%) students' fathers were farmers, 74 (27.2%) were businessmen and 43 (15.8%) were day laborers. Regarding textbook knowledge on first aid 270 (99.3%) respondents knew the meaning of first aid, 232 (85.3%) students gave their opinion about cleaning the skin with Dettol or savlon in case of injury and 228 (83.8%) students answered that bleeding should be reduced by applying pressure with a clean cloth. The study found that 22 (8.1%) respondents had a good knowledge of first aid interventions before the intervention while after the intervention, a good level of knowledge was found amongst 189 (69.5%) students. The study revealed that the use of ice during injury management was not significantly (c2 =0.529, p˃ 0.05) associated with the level of first aid knowledge statistically before the intervention while after first aid intervention, there was a significant association (c2 =7.235, p˂ 0.05). Conclusion: Educational intervention on first aid improves the level of knowledge among secondary school students. Necessary measures should be taken to encourage health promotion and prevention activities during practical life.
