The formation of human capital is key to countries’ social, cultural and economic development. The current literature pays considerable attention to the ever-increasing proliferation of technology in the careers of college and graduate school. While the presence of educational technology in higher education offers multiple benefits, its implementation also presents challenges. The literature has considered multiple tools for improving learning processes. The results of such tools vary and are difficult to measure in terms of quality. In this document, we analyze the issues surrounding educational technology in higher education.

In engineering education, educational technologies and teaching interventions are often used to maintain the student retention high. Most of them are strongly related to either in-class or take-home assessment. This paper compares the impact of both assessments on student performance for one academic semester. The findings are expected to re-align the focus of educational technology and teaching intervention research. Fifty-five laboratory sessions were analysed, involving five Introductory Programming classes with a total of 87 Information Technology and Information System undergraduates. The study shows that, by considering only significant changes, in-class assessment leads to higher assessment mark as the students can easily seek help and focus on the tasks. Technical problems are also unlikely to occur as the classroom (or the laboratory in our case) is well-facilitated.

Digital technologies increase the impact on society, economy and education every day. Schools gradually penetrate the technologies of virtuality and complemented reality; teachers must be prepared not only for their understanding, but also for their use. Currently, mixed learning becomes more popular in educational institutions, but not all teachers understand the essence of this concept. A generalized analysis of domestic scholars has shown that the notion of "mixed learning" relates to such concepts as "learning process", "learning system", "educational technology", "educational methodology", "combination of methods", "modernization tool", etc. On the basis of the analysis of literature on the concept of "mixed learning" in foreign and domestic researchers, the author presents her own definition, discloses the main components of mixed learning and its benefits in organizing educational activities in institutions of general secondary education; a scheme of combining traditional and e-learning in a mixed one is prepared. Digital technologies have a significant impact on the nature, the form of training, the kind of activity of students, allow the implementation of fundamentally new forms and methods of learning, and, as a consequence, increase the efficiency of educational process in a digital society. Before higher education there is the task of training specialists who can use a computer for the organization of interactive training and testing, video conferencing, participation in telecommunication projects, webinars, forums, etc. It is noted that modern teacher has to develop independently educational content in text, video, multimedia and hypermedia format, to use digital and educational resources, to set up educational content management systems and to organize training with the use of the Internet and its services.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the experience of building the technology "Care for the prevention of COVID-19 in post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients". Methods: experience report conducted in a hematopoietic stem cell transplant outpatient clinic that supported the construction of an educational technology in the form of a booklet for the prevention of COVID-19. In May 2020, a literature review in scientific databases and guidelines of health organizations were used for its development. Results: printed booklet with information on the definition of coronavirus, hand hygiene, use of the mask by the patient and caregiver, isolation and social distancing and general hygiene care. Final Considerations: the use of technologies is characterized as a tool for educational actions therefore, nurses, patients and caregivers benefit from guidance processes for health care. The developed technology has the potential to minimize the impact and spread of SARS-CoV-2 among high-risk populations.
