Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an integral part of firms’ strategies in their effort to increase their positive impact on society. This study investigates the impact of a CSR initiative, known as “The LAB Project”, implemented by the TITAN– Sharrcem Company, on the rural community of Hani I Elezit in Kosovo. The LAB project aims to support the establishment and operation of agricultural and food-related start-ups and, most importantly, to ensure their sustainability. The sample of the study consists of 174 area residents. This research examines local residents’ perceptions about a) the TITAN-Sharrcem operations in the area, b) the LAB project’s main contribution to the local community,  c) the project’s overall performance, d)  the profitability of the start-ups created by the project, and e)  the project’s effect on the community’s quality of life. Overall, the results reveal that the project has set the foundation for the community’s sustainable development. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first research on the effect of such initiatives in the region. Companies, either state-owned and private which operates in the field and/or related to natural resources must implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), such as by PT Indonesia Power (PT. IP) UBP-Tambaklorok which is located nearby Tanjung Mas Harbor, Tambaklorok Village, North Semarang District. Semarang City. The CSR implementation should benefit for both sides, the company for its image and the local community for the implemented programs. Therefore it is important to analyse perception of the local community as well as their opinions about the company's CSR activities in their village, in this case is the people of Kemijen village which is located adjacent to the PT. IP’s area. This research is descriptive qualitative, done in 2019, describing the phenomenon of CSR implementation by PT. IP, and the perception of the local community of Kemijen village towards the CSR activities implemented by PT. IP. The informants were taken using purposive sampling technique, covering both formal and informal leaders, the local people, as well as community development officer of PT. IP. Primary data was gathered using in-depth interview technique and observation. Secondary data consist of documents. Primary and secondary data was then coded and analysed interactively. PT. IP has formulated and implemented the Company’s strategies into CSR Roadmap 2015-2019, which is the grand strategy and a milestone of CSR implementation to integrate CSR strategy into the Company’s strategy, in the sectors of education, health, economy, and infrastructure. According to the perception of the Kemijen villagers, there have been both benefit and insufficiency of the PT. IP’s CSR implementation. They expect more programs to be implemented, in order to allowing them more opportunities for poverty alleviation.

The paper reviews existing literature on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to ascertain the level of corporate social responsibility activities that will enhance the performance/profitability of businesses in Nigeria. It revealed that the success of an organization depends on the extent to which the organization is capable of managing its relationship with key groups, such as financial and stakeholders, but also customers, employees, and even communities or societies. Stakeholders must be considered in the decision making process of the organization. CSR is a concept that includes many different activities and actions which businesses have to involve themselves in for the purpose growth sustainability and growth of businesses. Businesses that voluntarily participates in local community development, such as providing the community with donations, assisting them with projects and sharing some of its profit with the community, helps to increase the business profitability in the long-run.

This research aims to investigate the implementation and factors that impede the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is based on the principle of Good Corporate Governance Good Corporate Governance (GSG) in PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi. This research uses a descriptive method of analysis with a qualitative approach and data collection performed by the method of instrumental case studies, documentary studies, and natural observation (observation depth). The results show that six areas of activity that the CSR programs have been implemented by PT. BNT to improve well being communities are Education, Social Affairs / Religion, Health, Infrastructure, Economic and Environmental Affairs. Second, funds budgeted in the implementation of CSR programs at the PT. BNT were fit with the intelligence of UUPM No.25 Tahun 2007 in the amount of 1-5% of the company's profit after tax. Third, the social sector undertaken by PT.BNT to the CSR programs simply touch the community, where it is seen from the social program / religion that has been done, the areas of health and education.As for the program of environment and the economy has not been so touching peoples. Fourth, CSR applied by PT. BNT based GCG show that the implementation is not visible transparent principles, accountability, responsibility and fairness. Fifth, the existence of CSR programs in the form of community development that has been carried out by PT.BNT still lacks of impacts and benefits to improve the welfare of the local community, because of lack of fulfilling wishes of local communities, especially in the fields of economics, education and infrastructure development.And sixth, the implementation of CSR programs in the form of community development in the PT.BNT reap many obstacles and challenges, such as lack of budget funds and the scope and location of the village area around the company, so that distribution is not equitable relief. Purpose: study aimed to assess the Corporate Social Responsibility practices, business-community relations, and the missing links in Corporate Social Responsibility- community development in Ethiopia. Approach/Methodology/Design: Case study and thematic analysis of data on 45 structured interviews of key informants from federal and regional government, companies, and local community was collected, transcribed, and analyzed to identify the current CSR practices and consequences, and the missing links in CSR-community development interface. Findings: The CSR is ad-hoc philanthropy activity based on neo-liberal and voluntary approach motivated by market performance, reputation and image building objectives. There is no community development orientation, no social and environmental impacts. There are tax dodging, deforestation, water and chemical pollutions, britches of labor and community rights, CSiRs; National indigenous culture based community development oriented mandatory CSR policy, coordinating agency, engaging community, measuring the implementation, rewarding good CSR performance and punishing CSiRs. Practical Implications: The study has implications for academics, managers, policy makers, public administrators, community activists and leaders. It contributes to CSR approach in developing countries, CSR theories, thinking, and practice in African context, the business community relations, the business management approaches, scope of stakeholders, in improving CSR to contribute to community development. Originality/value: This study’s originality lies in bringing Ethnic diversity, federal- regional government, political history, collective rights, power of community and nationalism in CSR to the front.

This study is aims to determine the implementation of corporate social responsibility in the form of “Program Kemitraan dan Bina Lingkungan (PKBL) at PT Madubaru and the obstacles, and to determine the impact of the implementation of corporate social responsibility, both for companies and for local communities who were targets PKBL. This study is a descriptive study with qualitative approach. Subject of study is determined by purposive and snowball technique. The data was collected by interviews and document studies. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using inductive analysis. The results suggest that corporate social responsibility that is implemented is still largely in the form of momentary fulfillment, not to the aspect of sustainability as intended in community development. Obstacles encountered in implementing PKBL is difficult to find small businesses that fit with the company's business activities, the difficulty of finding good business-minded and responsible, and not compatibles PKBL budget allocation for the activity by the number of requests, so the funds are rolled still considered small by the community. The impact of the implementation is not optimal PKBL felt, because, although PT Madubaru has implemented PKBL in various activities and felt there was a good relationship with the local community that is created through the implementation PKBL, but on the other side of the perceived benefit of trained partners and target communities to the extent not empower society

Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large” According to World Business Council for Sustainable Development, In globalization era education plays a crucial role in building the society and Nation. India is the highest country in a number of universities which constitute more than seven hundred universities, including private, public and semi sectors. Despite India have more institutions and strategies for education still Indian education is not competitive and performing infancy stage as compared to world class level. Education has pivotal role in nation building and molding superb wings of human recourse. In globalized economy and the privatization the education have been transformed into rural or root level of sustainable development in all sorts of human life. Adopting a businesslike approach which emphasizes a strategic CSR is important to survival in this increasingly competitive arena. It does not appear as a surprise to see universities and colleges discover the opportunity to move the focus beyond the classrooms into their own institutional operations. Universities, colleges and schools are the centers of knowledge generation and sharing perform a very important role in addressing the Triple Bottom Line of the world’ socioeconomic and environmental issues by promoting sustainable solutions. This paper discusses the good CSR practices and some suggestions that can boost up the CSR management and make invites on education sector.

AbstractIn essence firms or companies are usually thought to exist to make products for or provide services of some sort to third parties, other companies or individuals. The philosophical question which naturally arises then is ‘to the benefit of whom should a firm’s activities be aimed?’ Possible answers include the owners of the firm, the firm’s employees or wider society, the firm’s local community or their host nation. It is because of firms’ location within a wider society that the issue of corporate social responsibility arises. The issue is do they contribute in a positive way to the fabric of society. In this paper we conduct an exploratory investigation whose research questions, broadly, are whether there is public evidence of corporate social responsibility activity by firms listed in the UK and to what extent, if any, such activities may amount to genuinely socially responsible management by the firms. We examined the most up to date annual reports of a split sample of 36 firms listed in the FTSE 350. The short answers to the two research questions above are: to some degree and no by some margin, based on data from the sample firms.
