This study describes a variety of approaches to communication by museums involved in cultural heritage exchange. It focuses on the High Tatras region, which is the most important centre of tourism in Slovakia. It also looks at the specifics of how tourism developed in the region. The data was collected over a multi-year series of ethnological field research trips, and primarily conducted by means of structured interviews, oral histories and participatory observation. The paper concentrates on shifts in the area of museum communication, from the classical interpretative approach towards exhibitions that present their subject matter in a more flexible way, with a focus on emotional experience. The article aims to use some chosen case studies of small, independent museums and galleries from the town of Vysoké Tatry, in the High Tatras, to highlight the importance of sustainability, especially in terms of the growth of tourism.

Setelah penelitian dan pengkajian dilakukan maka ditemukan bahwa, hakim memiliki upaya korektif untuk memperbaharui akad baku yang memberatkan konsumen dalam menjalankanya, upaya tersebut diharapkan dapat melindungi hak-hak konsumen, diantara bentuk upaya korektif tersebut adalah rescheduling yakni penjadwalan ulang, reconditioning merupakan persyaratan kembali dan restrukturisasi adalah penataan ulangThe implementation of standard contract is increasing as various forms of transactions develop in Islamic banking and other Islamic financial institutions, standard contract still often use exclusion clauses that contain restrictions on actions for consumers in conducting business activities, this often triggers conflicts or disputes in agreement. The effort is expected to protect consumer rights. Among the corrective efforts is rescheduling, reconditioning and restructuring

Mask as an actorThis paper proposes a performative analysis of a mask in order to research its agency, an active role in initiating world events. I will study four, in my opinion, basic “doings” of the mask: transformation, inspiration, transmission, and relocation. I am going to look at ancient masks as well as at Japanese, African and Asiatic ones. Of course, in a short paper the complete discussion of so complex subject matter is impossible. So, I will refer to selected case studies that most clearly expose the mask’s agency. I will use my own field research, my experience of directing plays and relevant scholarship — following a renown British social anthropologist Alfred Gell and archaeologist Ian Hodder.

The paper focuses on the issue of cultural heritage and tourism in the area of the High Tatras that are located in the Spiš region – one of the most significant historical and cultural centres of Slovakia. The study points out the aspects of presenting to the visitors the traditional cultural values of this region that are in socio-cultural and economic contexts. Moreover, we monitor the adequate forms of interpretation of those values in the present conditions of tourism. We aim at the usage of socio-cultural capital of the city in the perspective of sustainable development in the European area. The contribution copes with the long term ethnological field research, which is, predominantly, the basis for the synthesis of the results, and that is completed with the bibliography sources. The main intention of the origin of villages in the Tatra region (spas and tourism), ethnic and social reference of their founders are the essential factors for our conclusions. Those factors have conditioned and influenced many cultural specificities of the inhabitants concerning their identity and cultural roots. This phenomenon is the important determinant of the values of cultural heritage exchange, mainly towards the external visitors of the High Tatras.

Paštrovići is the name of a clan and of an ethnographic area of the Montenegrin coast stretching from Čanj to Bečići and from the Adriatic Sea to Crmnica. I visited this region twice, in 2017 and 2018, as part of the Etno Lab project, directed by the Bauo Society for Cultural Development from the town of Petrovac by the Sea, with funds and other forms of assistance provided by the Municipality of Budva, the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, and several local families. The purpose of the stay in Petrovac was engaged field research with the aim of exploring the "traditions" and cultural heritage of Paštrovići, with the intention of mapping potential elements for inscription on the list of Montenegrin intangible cultural heritage. In this paper, I start from the hypothesis that the organization of Etno Lab, the directing of research and, finally, the search for identity markers with a view to having them recognized as important and inscribed on relevant lists by the national state, are precisely a form of reflection of the socio-political identity turmoil which is primarily occurring at the political level in the nation state of Montenegro and then spilling over into social reality, where it assumes various forms. Thus, the paper is divided into four sections: a brief overview of socio-political changes in Montenegro; a discussion of the methodological procedures used in our research and their inadequacies; an anthropological interpretation of the concept and a search for elements of intangible cultural heritage in relation to the identity political uses of the given phenomena.

Cyprus and Cyrenaica, two regions strongly influenced by the Alexandrian cultural heritage, which came under the Roman rule already in the 1st century BC, are simultaneously both typical and unusual examples of acculturation understood as a mixture of Hellenistic and Roman components. This is reflected in various spheres of life, including the architecture of the houses owned by members of the urban elite which are investigated in this article. Two residential units – the House of Leukaktios at Ptolemais in Cyrenaica and the House of Orpheus at Nea Paphos in Cyprus – will be presented to discuss different attitudes towards Romanisation from the perspective of an individual as reflected by particular dwellings.

Sports Tourism as a segment is growing exponentially in Brazil. The sports mega-events that occurred in the period from 2007 to 2016 helped strengthen this sector significantly. This article examined tourism mobility during the Summer Olympic Games Rio 2016, hosted by the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This study expands the understanding of the relationship between tourism and city infrastructure, therefore being relevant to academics, professionals of the area and to the whole society due to its multidisciplinary field. The existence of a relationship between means of transportation and the Olympic regions as well as tourist attractions for a possible legacy was observed. Data were collected from official sources, field research and through participant-observation and semi structured interviews. Data were coded and analyzed. The results indicate that the city was overall successful in its execution of sufficient mobility. New means of transportation were added and others updated. BRT's (Bus Rapid Transit) were the main use of mass transport to Olympic sites. However, a lack of public transport access was observed for the touristic sites.

Previous planning for rural revival in towns has emphasized construction and government-led policies. However, we argue that the dilemmas of peri-metropolitan rural areas, such as Desakota in China, are far more complex faced with rural super village and hollowed village transformations. Rural revival planning needs to coordinate with the development of urbanized and rural areas towards multifunctional goals and plans as a whole. Therefore, we selected the town master plan of Lijia, a typical peri-metropolitan village in China, as a case study. Through a historical–interpretative approach involving analysis of planning policies, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews with the key stakeholders involved, we structured the process and mechanism of rural revival in Lijia into three phases: resource identification, capitalization, and financialization. In different phases, different stakeholders adopt different roles. The government takes a leading role in resource identification and capitalization, while firms take a leading role in the process of financialization. “Market-dominant and government-guided” planning stimulates villagers to participate in rural revival. We highlight the importance of multifunctional land-use in terms of rural revival in the master planning of peri-metropolitan villages and provide a practical reference for uniting multiple stakeholders, including governments, firms, and villagers.

AbstractDrawing on two longitudinal case-studies, this study aimed to identify some salient characteristics of the agentic behaviour of two young emergent multilinguals in two different multilingual contexts: Luxembourg and Israel. Despite the fact that the studies were conducted independently, the two cases were analysed together owing to the similarities in the research methods such as video-recorded observations, and semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents. The data were analysed through thematic and conversational analyses. Findings showed that a boy who learned Luxembourgish in Luxembourg and a girl who learned Hebrew in Israel, were outgoing and active learners who influenced their learning environment. We identified 10 types of agentic behaviour, including engaging in repetition after peers and the teacher, creatively producing language, translanguaging, and self-monitoring. Despite differences of the children’s sociocultural and linguistic backgrounds, and the language policies of their educational settings, we found a striking overlap in their language-based agentic behaviours. We suggest that the identified types can encourage further research in this field. Although our study with talkative children allowed us to observe many types of agentic behaviours, we cannot claim that less outgoing children or children who do not show the same behaviours do not have ways of expressing their agency.
