The paper focuses on the issue of cultural heritage and tourism in the area of the High Tatras that are located in the Spiš region – one of the most significant historical and cultural centres of Slovakia. The study points out the aspects of presenting to the visitors the traditional cultural values of this region that are in socio-cultural and economic contexts. Moreover, we monitor the adequate forms of interpretation of those values in the present conditions of tourism. We aim at the usage of socio-cultural capital of the city in the perspective of sustainable development in the European area. The contribution copes with the long term ethnological field research, which is, predominantly, the basis for the synthesis of the results, and that is completed with the bibliography sources. The main intention of the origin of villages in the Tatra region (spas and tourism), ethnic and social reference of their founders are the essential factors for our conclusions. Those factors have conditioned and influenced many cultural specificities of the inhabitants concerning their identity and cultural roots. This phenomenon is the important determinant of the values of cultural heritage exchange, mainly towards the external visitors of the High Tatras.

This paper presents the result of a correlational study derived from the exploratory analysis of a previous work in 2019 on the behavior of key indicators of intellectual capital management under the approach of socio-evolutionary models such as the Intellectus Model from which a 27-question-survey was designed and applied to a sample of 69 companies of different sizes and lines of work in the city of León. The results of the study show that in the companies subjects of the research are found significant positive correlations in the behavior of key indicators such as levels of integration and motivation of staff, promotion mechanisms, level of involvement in decision-making, levels of education, propensity to change or improvement in products and processes, transfer of knowledge in the form of intangible assets as trademarks and patents which allow companies to increase their chances of permanence and growth in the long term. The above gathered from the statistical analysis applied to the database constructed from the results of the field research among the companies that agreed to answer the initial survey.

Heritage is the historical result of past interactions. Urban history reveals components of that heritage in the context of a city and helps us to perceive cultural values in their unique connections. Historians have several kinds of references that are used to study urban history. Travelbooks and yearbooks, two of those historical sources, are deliberately emphasised in this study. They introduce not only tangible and intangible cultural heritage of a city as possible tools for sustainability and diversity, but also are essential references in tourism research for particularly historical academic views. Cultural heritage of today together with those lost or almost forgotten can be interpreted through urban history sources within its own methodology but in favour of urban tourism. The outcome is incomparable data for related territory. Besides, it can generate possibilities to enhance not only cliché methods for urban management but also understandings of business leaders. This paper, therefore, underlines distinctive studies of Ottoman Urban History as interdisciplinary input within tourism literature and for possible contributions in improvement of city tourism practices.Urban history studies are considered along with theperception of cultural heritage. The city Bursa is used as a case study in order to exemplify aims of this paper in wider conceptions for urban tourism research and practices. Introduced and evaluatedtravelbooksand yearbooks are hence written about Bursa. Travelbooksare especially chosen from those written by European travellers within nineteenth century. As a result, evaluation also captures perceptions of travellers in mentioned period. Yearbooks of the same era, on the other hand, are also introduced within the concept of urban tourism and cultural heritage.

ic health requires processing large amounts of data from long-term research, which necessitates the use of modern geoinformation technologies. Geoinformation technologies are a mechanism for assessing environmental risks to public health in conditions of man-made air pollution in cities. The results obtained in the course of long-term monitoring studies are summarized in the GIS environment “Environmental and socio-economic conditions of cities in Central Russia”. The collection of information to characterize the functional and planning structure and landscape and environmental conditions for the model regions was carried out on the basis of special field research, processing of stock, including cartographic, material of regional integrated and sectoral environmental agencies. Currently, Russia and the world have different approaches to assessing the environmental risk for the population living in industrial cities. In Russia, the methodology of the center for hygiene is most widely used. Erisman, as well as the methodology for assessing environmental risk developed by Professor V. Prevalence. Of studies environmental and social conditions in the city of Voronezh, conducted by researchers of Voronezh state University under the direction of Professor S.A. Kurolap collected in electronic health-environmental GIS-Atlas of the city of Voronezh. The Atlas contains maps showing the state of the environment, public health, and environmental risks in various parts of the city of Voronezh. Currently, various researchers have proposed a number of methodologies for geoinformation assessment of environmental safety of the population of large cities. At the same time, there is no unified approach to assessing environmental comfort that covers its various components, which makes it advisable to develop an integrated methodology based on the data available to us.

The purpose of this study are firstly, to find out what is the history of the batik (a traditional textile originating from the island of Java) in Pekalongan City, Indonesia and what cultural values are contained in the batik design of the archipelago exhibited in the batik museum in Pekalongan. Secondly, to find out how the cultural values contained in batik are communicated to the community. Thirdly, how the museum made an efforts in helping preserve batik as a product of cultural heritage to strengthen the city image of Pekalongan City as the World’s City of Batik. The results of this study indicate that the cultural values contained in batik patterns are strongly influenced by the culture of migrants who arrived in the city of Pekalongan. Pekalongan as a coastal city on the north coast of Java is very easily accessed by migrants from various ethnic groups such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and even Dutch. They came to Pekalongan with the aim to trade, religion propaganda, even to war. Batik Museum in Pekalongan also plays an active role in socializing the history and values contained in each batik displayed by considering the arrangement of display space and organizing events such as fashion shows or short course to make batik for teenagers.

Palabras clave: conservación, bosques andinos, sostenibilidad, gestión ambientalAbstractThis research paper is about Mazán and Llaviuco forests, which make up two of the 12 most important micro-watersheds for drinking water supply for the city of Cuenca. ETAPA is in charge of protecting them since 1984 and 1996 respectively. With their glacier molding and biological and cultural values studied and recognized, these two forests faced a history of intense land use (logging, farming and aquaculture activities) which, in turn, threatened the provision of ecosystem services to society (water, fiber, food, etc.) Currently, Mazán and Llaviuco are free of these impacts and remain preserved; however, little has been done to face the global phenomena challenges of weather change, pollution and others. Hence, there are discussions in regard to the need to pursue an analysis approach of the vulnerability to climate change, in order to make decisions about the region and eventually improve the non-clean production processes in Cuenca or reduce the negative external impacts over which there is no direct interference. The importance of long-term thematic research on networks throughcoordinated and multidisciplinary work is emphasized. The information generated should be interpreted and used in a persuasive manner so as to recommend cautious specific policies and projects, with the viewthat the processes are always under construction while the technical, economic and social constraints are being identified. Keywords: Conservation, Andean Forests, Sustainability, Environmental Management

We examine the current architectural and urban planning approaches towards preservation and regeneration of historical and cultural values represented by watercourses in the urban structure of the city. Using the examples of two Slovak cities Košice and Prešov, the paper highlights the need for preservation and conservation of the watercourse corridors in the urban structure, even in the cases without the contemporary presence of water, as they represent significant cultural and historical values. Their preservation in the contemporary urban structure creates a base for the possibility of their future revitalization with the recovery of water, or the possibility of their future use as attractive tourist, pedestrian, bicycle, andgreen corridors with recreational and environmental functions.
