Increasing utilization of secondary raw materials and alternative fuels results in increasing contents of metals in cements. One of elements, the content of which keeps rising in cement is zinc. It comes to cement with secondary raw materials such as slag or fly ash or by the utilization of used tires as an alternative fuel. Zinc ions significantly prolong the hydration process in cement. This work deals with the influence of zinc ions in the form of very poorly soluble ZnO salt and easily soluble ZnCl2 and Zn(NO)3 on the hydration of cement blended with fly ash. Zinc was dosed in the range of 0.05, 0.1, 0.5 a 1% of cement weight. Final products were next analyzed using X-Ray Diffraction.

Background. The outbreak of the new coronavirus disease in 2019 (COVID19) has been the largest global health threat in the world, that infected more than 60 million people and killed more than 1,400,000. At the same time, cancer remains a widespread disease, from which more than 9.6 million patients in the world die each year. Accumulating data suggest that cancer patients are at higher risk of infection COVID-19 and severe course of the disease. This is due to immunosuppression, which is due to both the malignant tumor and antitumor therapy. Clinical manifestations of lung damage in cancer patients are not pathognomonic, because they can be caused by any pathological processes: metastatic lesions, inflammatory processes of viral and bacterial etiology, vascular disorders in the small circulation, etc. This requires not only to determine the nature of pathological changes in the lungs, but also to carry out their differential diagnosis in order to prescribe timely and adequate therapy.  Purpose – elucidation of the relevance of X-ray diagnosis of pneumonia in cancer patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods. Follow-up of a patient K., 72 years old, who had coronavirus pneumonia along with complications (febrile neutropenia) resulting from chemoteraphy of recurrent endometrial leiomyosarcoma. The treatment was provided on the premises of Clinical Oncology and Hematology Department of State Organization «Grigoriev Institute for Medical Radiology and Oncology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine». Results and discussion. Over a period of 6 month, the patient was undergoing polychemotherapy (with complications like febrile neutropenia) of recurrent endometrial leiomyosarcoma. The control CT study detected pulmonary involvement. After receiving laboratory confirmation of COVID-19, was treated in the infectious department. The course of the disease was severe. Analyzing this clinical case of a patient with cancer in the process of special treatment, it is impossible to exclude the presence of progression in the lungs or drug pulmonitis. A favorable treatment result (negative PCR test, positive dynamics on CT) proves the non-metastatic nature of lung damage. Conclusions.. Diagnosis of COVID-19 infection should be based on the integrated application of clinical, radiological and laboratory research methods. Chest computed tomography, taking into account its high sensitivity, helps in diagnosis, control of the disease, playing an important role in the differential diagnosis and treatment tactics of COVID-19.

Areas of application of zirconium, the main of which are metallurgy, the production of refractories and ceramics are given. The sources of production and distribution of reserves and resources of zirconium dioxide in Russia are indicated. It is noted that Russia, which occupies the fourth place in the world in terms of zirconium reserves, does not have any industrially developed deposits with zirconium production, and Russian consumers are fully working on imported raw materials. The possibility of ensuring the import independence of Russia in zirconium raw materials by commissioning their own explored placer deposits of zirconium and secondary raw materials is shown.

Calcium silicate composites are a widely used building material, especially autoclaved aerated concrete or sand-lime bricks. The physico-mechanical properties of these materials depend on their microstructure. Microstructure is characterized by the content of crystalline calcium silicate compounds that arise during autoclaving. This is in particular the tobermorite mineral, which carries the mechanical strength of the composite. This paper focuses on the influence of secondary raw materials on properties and microstructure of the calcium silicate composite. Secondary raw materials were selected as slag from the combustion of lignite and ground glass. Mixtures of composites were selected with respect to the required C/S molar ratio of 0.73. The hydrothermal treatment was carried out at a temperature of 190 °C and a residence time of 4, 8 and 16 hours. The microstructure of calcium silicate composites and autoclaved aerated concrete was studied. The use of slag resulted in an increase in the intensity of the diffraction line of tobermorite by X-ray diffraction analysis as well as the use of glass. The difference was particularly evident in the shape of the tobermorite crystals. Long strong crystals were detected in the sample with slag, while the sample with glass exhibited low tobermorite leaves. Porous structure of autoclaved aerated concrete with slag was uniform, unlike samples with glass. Both materials have a positive effect on the increase in compressive strengths of the samples.

Clinoptilolite is a precious zeolite mineral that has the most comprehensive physicochemical properties among all the zeolite group minerals. Due to these unique properties, clinoptilolite has a wide range of applications in many different industries. In Poland, the clinoptilolite occurs only as an accompanying mineral in the sedimentary rocks nearby Rzeszów. In Europe, the abundant clinoptilolite-bearing deposits are located in Slovakia and Ukraine, where clinoptilolite mineralization occurs in the volcanic tuffs. Due to clinoptilolite’s rare performance, it is extremely crucial to manage its deposits in a complementary manner. In this paper, the mineralogical and structural characterization of the clinoptilolite powders obtained by mineral processing of the clinoptilolite-rich tuffs from Slovakia and Ukraine deposits were discussed. The scope of research covered determination of the mineral composition of the tuffs, structural analysis of the clinoptilolite crystals, as well as textural and physical properties of the powders obtained by mineral processing of the tuffs. In addition, this paper includes the comparative study of the most significant zeolite deposits in the world and investigated clinoptilolite-rich tuffs. A wide spectrum of methods was used: X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermal analysis (DSC, TG), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), optical microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDS), the laser diffraction technique, and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption/desorption. The test results indicated that the major component of the tuffs is clinoptilolite, which crystallized in the form of very fine-crystalline thin plates. The clinoptilolite mineralization in the Ukrainian and Slovakian tuffs exhibited a strong resemblance to the clinoptilolite crystals in Yemeni and Turkish tuffs. With respect to the mineral composition, the investigated tuffs showed excellent conformity with the Miocene white tuffs from Romania. The Ukrainian and Slovakian tuffs do not reveal the presence of the clay minerals, which is quite common for naturally occurring zeolite-rich rocks in various deposits in the world. The textural features together with mineral composition of the investigated samples incline that they are potentially suitable raw materials for the sorbent of petroleum compounds. Moreover, the obtained results can be useful indicators with respect to the crushing and compaction susceptibility of the Ukrainian and Slovakian clinoptilolite-rich tuffs.

The industrial use of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) coating gauges is a well established practice. For homogeneous coatings such as zinc or tin on steel, on-line XRF gauges are in use around the world. In continuous coating lines coils of uncoated metal are welded to one another and are coated at speeds between 100 and 2000 ft/min. Gauges are used to read cross-sheet coating profiles and determine the average coating thickness through the length of the coil. The motivation for the use of these on-line X-ray instruments is quality control, particularly coating uniformity, and raw materials savings.

The article analyzes the problems in the Russian milk and dairy products market in the context of the global economic crisis: overproduction of milk in the main exporting countries, lower purchase prices for raw milk, lower prices for commodities in the world and in Russia in 2020, trend to reduce demand for dairy products on the world market in medium term, a decrease in total demand for dairy products in the Russian market with a decrease in the purchasing power of the population, a change in the structure of consumption. An assessment of new opportunities and threats to the development of the industry was carried out: on the part of consumers — rising food prices, lower incomes; from the perspective of dairy producers — reduction in purchase prices, increased requirements for raw materials for the production of products with extended periods, labor shortages, the likely reduction in state support as a result of lower prices for hydrocarbons, attempts to regulate prices; on the part of processing enterprises — reduction of demand, reduction of prices for finished goods following world prices. The investment priorities in dairy cattle breeding and the main forms of improving state support for the industry, ensuring the effective adaptation of milk producers to new economic conditions, increasing the sustainability of the industry with increasing macroeconomic risks, are substantiated.
