One of the most recognised product is Mae Lips Sofa by Salvador Dali. Anthropomorphism in furniture are growing along contemporary sofa design nowadays. It became a paradox when public thinks it ugly and dislike it but its value is overly high. One of the furniture with anthropomorphic concept is My Big Fat Sofa. ‘My Big Fat Sofa’ is an experiment-based product by Charlotte Kingsnorth which combines the biomorphic and anthropomorphic shapes. This sofa is a result of an advanced development from AtOne Sofa a sustainable study of anthropomorphisation in furniture. ‘My Big Fat Sofa’ placed in the top five of Google Images Search under the keyword ‘ugly furniture’. It might be related to ‘The Ugly and the Beauty’ concept where disfigurement and splendour of a product are determined by the major vote. However, the assessment result may vary according to the profile of respondents. The researcher intends to identify whether different arguments of the sofa’s aesthetic value might occur by conducting separate surveys using Visual Analogue Scale Methods (VAS) to 20 respondents each, from both creative and non-creative background. This study is also subjected to prove the premise on how respondents’ subjective aspects could also interfere with their aesthetical appreciation of an opus, in generating absolute thoughts towards the creation, aside from ‘The Ugly and the Beauty’ concept. The outcome helps to direct ideas in leading Indonesia’s creative industries, particularly in furniture design, to compete with the fourth revolution (Making Indonesia 4.0). The article deals with the evolution of the environmental consciousness of the population of a megapolis in the conditions of the development of the postindustrial epoch of town planning, when such concepts as “the att ractiveness of the city, the prestige of the address of residence, the ecological background, the level of improvement” become indicators of the level of its development. The author reveals the basics of the contradiction between the creative qualities of the above factors and their dominant characteristics that facilitate the emergence of a megapolis on the international market for competition and investment. The search for regularities in the development of the spatial-functional environment of the megapolis is actualized depending on the specifi city and level of the environmental consciousness and behavior of the townspeople. The author analyzes modern approaches to the formation in the megalopolis of “creative industries”, which are creative activities, including urban design, advertising, architecture, crafts, furniture design, clothing design and design, cinema and video, graphic design, museums and architectural heritage, Fine arts, music, television, radio and the Internet.

Introduction: Upper cross syndrome (UCS) occurs when the muscle in the neck, shoulders, and chest become deformed usually as a result of poor posture. The aim of the study is to analyse the effect of McKenzie’s method of exercise to treat upper cross syndrome associated with cervicogenic headache. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was conducted in outpatient department physiotherapy A.C.S. Medical College and Hospital. Fifty subjects were selected for the study of the age group between 20 to 50 years of both male and female sex. Duration of this study was about 3 months. Each patient was trained about three session per week, 30 minutes per session. The session included McKenzie’s method of exercise to improve the shoulder and neck movements and postural corrections of the subjects. The outcome measure done using visual analogue scale (VAS) for cervicogenic headache and upper cross syndrome questionnaire (UCS). Results: The results on comparing upper cross syndrome questionnaire score and Visual Analog Scale score showed that between the pre-test (4.93) and post-test (3.43) mean values with group McKenzie’s exercise showed highly significant difference. Thus, it is appropriate that McKenzie’s method of exercise to treat upper cross syndrome associated with cervicogenic headache is effective.

<p>Wooden furniture is a cultural product that evolved hundred years ago in Indonesia. There are many types of wood species with high quality grow in Indonesia. In the 21st century, the level of demands for furniture is getting higher, and affecting the availability of the amount of wood. These conditions encourage furniture industry to seek for a wide variety of solid wood, processed wood and wood waste. Wood furniture has a role in the dynamic cultural development of Java Island, Indonesia, from the aspect of spiritual, philosophical, aesthetic and economic. This study aims to describe the transition in social and cultural values that occur in the use of wood materials in furniture, especially in Java. The transition will be described through the eyes of Material Cultural Studies, to show ecological aspects as a new aesthetic value. The method of data analysis is done through a diachronic viewpoint, by dividing the viewpoints into three time dimensions, i.e., the interpolation dimension (the past), the present time and the extrapolation dimension (the future). The interpolation and extrapolation dimensions are the approaches to analyze a set of data. Social culture phenomenon, development of trend technologies, and availability of wooden resources influence the transition of furniture value. Relation between availability of wooden resources have impact on design development. The result of this research are aspects of ecological needed on furniture design and the supporting variables. Therefore, concept of sustainable furniture design in Indonesia would be seen as an opportunity to maintain the continuity of wood.</p>

Aim: To analyze the effectiveness of gluteal muscles strengthening in piriformis syndrome. Study design: Experimental study Place and duration of study: Department of Physiotherapy, Mayo Hospital, Lahore from 1st February 2019 to 31st July 2019. Methodology: Fifty patients presenting with piriformis syndrome were enrolled. They were divided in two groups. Control group received piriformis stretching, ultrasound and conventional isometrics. Experimental group received piriformis stretching, ultrasound and a gluteal strengthening program. The baseline parameters were assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Manual Muscle Testing (MMT). Patients were treated for 40 minutes 3 times a week for 4weeks. Results: Reduction in intensity of pain as well as improvement in ROM was seen in both groups. There was significant improvement in lateral rotation of hip in experimental group, and as piriformis is also a lateral rotator of hip joint, hence improvement in range of lateral rotation shows that a gluteal strengthening program has significant in increasing ROM of joint. There was significant improvement in MMT grade of gluteal muscles comparatively in the experimental group. Conclusion: Experimental group showed improvements in decreasing pain and improvements in strength, with a significant improvement in lateral rotation shows that gluteal strengthening program can be used to treat pts with piriformis syndrome. Key words: Manual Muscle Testing, Visual analog scale

The article reveals the problem of the ontological meaning of the life and functioning of the poet in its relationship with the communicative practices of contemporary global world. As a result of comparing the two ways of thought (globalism — antiglobalism, traditionalism — neoliberalism, modern — postmodern), the authors come to a preliminary conclusion that it is unacceptable for the creative industries of branding and PR to displace ontological adequations of poetic values as a part of classic art. The article clearly differentiates the concept of symbolic identity and the category of existential selfhood of a poet - poet as a PR hero and poet as a subject of language as a house of being. We make a hypothesis about a possibility of rational reconciliation of the priorities of the academic tradition as an inalienable context of the aesthetic value of art-work and postmodern digital technologies of art-promotion (including network platforms in the aspect of exclusively their correlation as the aim and maens: the ontology is primary strategy and the representation is secondary tactics. The methodological tool for the substantiating of this hypothesis is the idea of a structural balance between the vertical centripetal dynamic axis of the paradigm (metaphor) and the horizontal centrifugal static axis of the syntagma (metonymy) in classical semiotics. Within the frames of the signifier and signified as the Selfness and the Other, dynamics and statics, history and structure, imagine ideal meanings pass into a real-symbolic language, focusing in the inner world of the poet, turning personal creativity into the property of cultural memory. Thus, the hypothesis is confirmed through a synthesis of classical semiotics and non-classical psychoanalysis. If we liken the semiotic axes of intersection of vertical and horizontal to the R. Descartes coordinate system, the point of intersection of horizontal and vertical turns out to be a poet who translates personal metaphors into cultural-semantic invariants, replenishing the civilizational memory of culture, confirming his existential value, which is different from his or her purely communicative image. From a philosophical point of view, the article analyzes the concept of a poet's status as his/her existential state in comparison with criticism of symbolic capital (prestige, reputation, brand).
