The Impact

Online Learning and Modular Learning Modalities are being utilized by the Department of Education to continue the learning process during COVID -19 pandemic. The study has employed Mixed method to determine the problems and challenges of both public and private school teachers in utilizing online and modular learning modality. Interviews revealed that each sector has a problem in internet connectivity. Specifically, public school teachers are being challenged by the scarce resources of the students and unresponsive parents. Private school teachers are being challenged by the lack of training on the different online platforms for online teaching and learning process and assessment of learning this new normal. U- Test revealed that the challenges experienced by public and private school teachers in delivering distance learning are essentially the same. Moreover, it can be said that the type of school where a teacher works has no bearing with the challenges that he or she may encounter.

The process of teaching and learning through online or virtual mode has been gradually becoming an important part of the Indian education sector. Teachers and students in higher education have already been effectively using online education mode to optimize the learning process. Schools, too, have been using educational technologies in many ways at all levels and across all grades. But with the unexpected worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020, a sudden exponential boom has come in the online teaching set up. Until now, online teaching was assumed to be an aid to the teaching-learning transactions and was immediately adopted as the only way out, to continue with the pedagogical process in schools and colleges. This research attempts to make a comparative analysis of the changes in various aspects of online teaching before and during the COVID-19 era, including content development and delivery and type of information shared with students in private schools of NCR of India. Data collected by the investigator from school teachers about their usage of online methodologies from 2017 will be compared with school teachers’ data in August 2020, and its educational implications will be discussed.

This study are focused in : (1) how the context of the Online teaching learning process program on Covid-19 outbreak. (2) how the input of the Online teaching learning process program on Covid-19 to the success program, (3) how far the challenge and the opportunities of the Online teaching learning process program on Covid-19 pandemic. The objects of this study were: the English teacher in government’ schools and private school of junior high school and senior high school, and the students. The data were obtained from interview, classroom observation, and document analysis. Those data were analyzed by using Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) Model by Kellaghan and Stufflebeam (2003). The findings revealed some facts. First, in the context evaluation, it can be concluded that the online teaching and learning program are relevant and formulated in order to meet the students’ needs on this pandemic. Second, in term of input evaluation, the teacher did not fulfill the requirements of a qualified teacher yet. Therefore, this pandemic has become a challenge for educators especially for English teachers and students in higher education level. It impacted classrooms to be hardly. Here, the researcher advice the government to conduct a training and workshop in order to improve the quality and the professionalism.

Abstract Various studies on the impact of online teaching and learning have shown the importance of a teacher’s presence in the classroom, in terms of the efficiency of conveying knowledge. With online teaching, students show that they still require their teacher’s involvement as well, demonstrating that his/her guidance and management of a class remains an important component of pedagogy. However, not all students decide to get equally involved in in-class activities, considering the issues that four groups of students in a university revealed during their online learning experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their need for better interaction with the teacher and their hesitancy to participate due to possible bullying, demonstrate that a teacher’s presence is necessary. The Peer-Review Approach and the Flipped Classroom Strategy were both helpful to the students as they were involved in activities under the teacher’s observation. The latter could check the students’ knowledge acquired before the start of the classes and monitor their learning process, which enhanced their feeling of self-confidence. As a result, the students could better concentrate and became more self-confident as they succeeded academically.

Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been shocked by the Corona Virus Diseases (Covid-19) pandemic which has spread rapidly throughout the world, infecting more than forty million people, causing more than one million deaths by October 2020. This pandemic has an impact on the education world where all levels of education from kindergarten to postgraduate are required to carry out distance learning through online-based classes. Various problems then arise in distance learning because not all students have the facilities and infrastructure needed in its implementation, even causing casualties. This research examines and discusses the phenomenon of Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the education world in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out government policies in overcoming learning problems in a pandemic situation and finding the right policies so that learning can still be carried out effectively, how the supervision needs to be done by the government so that teaching and learning activities can run effectively and how the teaching communication strategies in using online media so that the delivery of material by lecturers can be easily understood by students. From the research results, several conclusions were obtained. The Minister's policy to carry out the online learning process still faces various challenges in its implementation; The learning process from home must always be monitored through good cooperation between students, parents, and educators, especially for primary and secondary education; and by using some appropriate learning communication strategies, the online teaching and learning process can be carried out more effectively because it does not take up a lot of time and space.

The aim of this research was to highlight the impact of online education on teaching and learning English as a foreign language among students aged 12-19, and to research the importance of learner autonomy and motivation in the online teaching – learning process. In order to collect data from the 81 subjects, members of five different classes and age groups, a questionnaire created in Google Forms was used. The questionnaire was designed to provide information about the students’ attitude and motivation for studying English in an online context, autonomy and effort invested in the learning process. Student progress was measured using the end of semester grades of the first semester of the 2019/2020 year compared to those of the first 2020/2021 semester. Results reveal the importance of perceived choice as a factor that supports learner autonomy and learner motivation. The limitations of the study are due to the fact that the students’ level of English and their previous knowledge of the subjects studied online had not been tested beforehand as the current pandemic situation was not foreseeable.

The general objective of this study is to examine the impact of School’s Resource Center (SRC) on teaching and learning process among secondary school teachers. The specific objectives are; to identify factors influencing the utilization of the SRC and the problems associated with it. In general, 100 school teachers from three secondary schools in Tanjung Malim, Perak were selected as our respondents. Sample selection was made based on purposive sampling and the data obtained were processed by using quantitative method. The results obtained reported that, on average teachers used the SRC twice a week. The reasons for the usage are; to make use the printing and non-printing media available at the SRC, and to participate in various activities and programs organized at the center. In terms of problems, there was no indication on the presence of any serious problem except the SRC should sustain its resources. In particular, the SRC must continuously upgrade the collections of printing and non-printing media with most updated and contemporary issues. Apart of that, the SRC must make available technical assistant(s) to help out the SRC users (students and teachers) anytime needed. In terms of effect, the utilization of SRC encourages group study among students and this approach not only helped to improve students understanding and to inspire their reading interest, but also offered motivation to students in understanding the content of a particular subject better.

In response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, most of the higher education institutions (HEIs) across the globe have replaced conventional teaching with online teaching. However, the technological preparedness of countries of varied nature differs significantly. In this context, the purpose of the study is to answer the following research question: how are the HEIs mitigating the difficulties that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate online teaching–learning process? The study is carried out based on a cross-sectional study from 281 academic professionals who are employed in HEIs in India and Ethiopia. The findings from this comparative study highlight that digital divide and lack of institutional preparedness are found to be major problems that constrained the effective implementation of online teaching/learning. Besides, this study also found that training programmes for the faculty members to utilize web resources and facilitate online teaching were found to be limited in both the countries. The article concludes by offering suggestions and policy advice to minimize the digital divide and for successful implementation of online teaching in HEIs.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to an expansion and increase in the demand for online teaching and learning across the globe. Online teaching and learning is attracting a large number of students for enhanced learning experiences. However, there are many challenges and hindrances that pose a problem in the smooth learning. The teaching and learning process is the core of education. Everything that has been programmed will be carried out in the teaching and learning process where interaction and involvement is needed between educators and students with materials as the medium. Teaching activities at the strata 1 level involve educators called lecturers and students called students. In general, teaching activities are carried out offline, which involves direct interaction between lecturers and students. At the beginning of 2021, rumors began to appear that there was a global disaster of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, which initially Indonesia considered that the Corona virus was impossible to enter Indonesia. However, the development of the virus is so fast. Indonesia finally announced in early March 2021 as a country experiencing the impact of the global disaster due to the COVID -19 pandemic. This study wants to find out how effective it is to use blended learning by using google classroom and zoom to improve the understanding of FEB students at Muhammadiyah University of Gresik. This research is a quantitative research using causal clause relationship, using SPSS version 23.0 analysis tool. The results obtained from this study are that the Google Classroom and Zoom applications partially and simultaneously have a significant positive effect on student understanding.
