Abstract. Just a few decades ago, the use of digital tools in the teaching of Physical Education and Sports was a matter of little interest. However, the expedited incursion of information and communication technologies (ICT) in today's society has made the acquisition of the so-called digital skills an imperative. This study was carried out with the cooperation of four professional programs in the field of Physical Education and Sports in Bogota, with the aim of determining whether there are significant differences between the perception of students and teachers about the development of their digital skills in dependence on variables such as study modality, academic approach, gender, age, and in the case of teachers, also professional experience and academic training. From the results found through the Kruskall Wallis non-parametric tests, with a significance level of .05, it was determined that both students and teachers perceive the development of their ICT skills at a medium-high level, and differences in relation to gender and age were ruled out. On the other hand, it was concluded that students who are part of distance learning programs, and from pedagogical line, have a better perception of these skills, as well as those teachers with more experience and a higher level of training.

The transmission of digital culture is one of the most important challenges of the current education system. The European Union proposes, through the Europe 2020 Strategy, to improve the accessibility, use and quality of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in rural areas. For this to be possible, digitally competent material and professional resources are required. This study aims to know the reality of rural schools in the province of Albacete, in terms of the quality of ICT, the available resources and the digital skills of their teachers. For this, a descriptive methodology has been used and the questionnaire has been used as an information collection instrument. The results show that the political intentions do not match the reality found in our data. Technological infrastructures lack sufficient quality to enable internet access in a safe and efficient way. On the other hand, teachers who carry out their work in these centers make limited use of the technologies in these classrooms, characterized by being multilevel, due to the lack of training in digital skills.

Abstract. The technocentric and traditional training of teachers in the use of the information and communication technologies (ICT) show the weakness of the pedagogical discourse versus the technological discourse, confirming the limited educational intentionality of teachers when using these technologies. Moreover, in subjects such as physical education, there is a lack of specific instruments that allow studying this issue. The objective of the study was to develop and validate, by the Delphi method, a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge and the educational intentionality of physical education teachers when using ICT, considering age and gender factors. Subsequently, the questionnaire was applied to a representative sample of 155 primary school teachers from the city of Valencia and metropolitan area. The results indicated that the questionnaire had a good reliability and validity. The findings also indicated the existence of a high level of knowledge among teachers. In addition, a greater educational intentionality was found among male teachers compared with female teachers, as well as among younger teachers compared with older teachers. Moreover, the results showed that level of knowledge was a positive correlate of educational intentionality, as well as teachers’ age was negatively related to level of knowledge. Considering the present findings, it would be relevant to develop teacher training policies that improve the prevailing technical paradigm and support alternative models that show the educational value of the ICT. This digital immersion could reduce gender and generational barriers to the use of ICT.

Background: (1) The COVID-19 pandemic has generated significant changes in teaching methods around the world, and the ideal of online education has become a reality. (2) Methods: A questionnaire was modified for this study in order to determine the following levels of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills: file creation, file management, the use of emails, the use of the internet, and online communication. In total, 360 students from the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education (FSPE), University of Novi Sad, participated in the study. (3) Results: The results show that there are differences between the estimated level of ICT skills and the ICT skills used in online education, such that students estimate their level of ICT skills as being higher than is necessary for online education (p < 0.05). There is also a correlation between the satisfaction with online education and ICT skills, showing that students with higher ICT knowledge are more satisfied with online education (p < 0.05). There is another correlation between the satisfaction with online education and the frequency of ICT use—the more ICTs are included, the more satisfied the students will be (p < 0.05). (4) Conclusions: The results of this study can serve as a recommendation for the implementation of FSPE students’ training in ICT skills, as well as an important basis for the systematic creation, improvement, and sustainability of online education in universities.

Motivating the working population to master digital skills is an important condition for the digital transformation of the Russian economy and companies. The article examines the relationship between the general level of motivation for learning digital skills and a number of factors, assesses the average level of motivation for four groups of skills, and compares the level of motivation between groups of workers and their motives. Empirical data were obtained by conducting an online survey of the working population in March 2020, the target sample was 116 respondents. It was revealed that the general level of motivation of workers to learn decreases with the increasing complexity of digital skills. The hypotheses about the relationship between the level of motivation and the perceived difficulty of using information and communication technologies and previous learning experience were confirmed. Differences between the groups of workers in the level of motivation and the degree of mastering specialized digital skills, related to the nature of the work were revealed. A higher interest in mastering this group of skills, as well as the degree of mastering them, was demonstrated by the group of managers. The strongest motive for acquiring digital skills is the need to use them at work.

For obtaining benefits from using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education sector, technical and management aspects related to the use of ICT are needed. This literature review article focuses on assessing managerial aspects that influence deployment of e-learning technologies. Provision of details in each managerial dimension attempted to cover description of their significance, and the extent to which they influence adoption and usage of e-learning technologies. Key considerations were also extracted and presented as benchmarks for smooth practicality. A stock of existing literature n=81 devoted to the study, were reviewed to capture the specific themes for extracting arguments to acquire a wider perspective of the findings. The downloaded literature was categorised thematically and timely to capture a review of themes and trends on appreciable increase of usage or adoption published respectively. The process supported by NVivo software (version 12). From the findings training seemed the most discussed and considered managerial factor in terms of its significance and influence. It might be so due to its nature and need as it has to be conducted from the initial stage and continuously. The literature seems to be concerned with managerial aspects facilitating e-learning technologies in a holistic way, for stance combining different aspects of training, ultimately reflecting a high level of training aspect analysed. Still, despite some of these aspects being dubbed ‘all inclusive’, many tend to be little reported if we consider the possibilities in terms of those managerial dimensions.

New information and communication technologies and their integration extend possibilities for high-level human collaboration. Various groups of people can come together according to their private or business interests forming a virtual community through social networks. However, in addition to the positive effects of this technical breakthrough there are dangerous potential side effects using these high-level networked systems; the sensitive personal or business data can be misused. Therefore, privacy has an increasingly important role in social networks and is becoming a significant area related to business ethics taking into consideration the close connection between trust and privacy. The goal of this chapter is to discuss the role and relationships between trust and privacy in mobile (business) social networks and to introduce the possible types of privacy threats and countermeasures in case of online social networks. A short summary on future trends in mobile social networks is also presented.

Developments in information and communication technologies have raised the issue of the intergenerational digital divide that can take place between “digital natives” and “digital immigrants”. Despite emphatic claims concerning how educational systems must take into account the specific characteristics of “digital natives”, sound empirical research on these topics is lacking, especially for Europe. This paper presents the results of research performed during the course of 2008, studying how university students in Italy use digital technologies. The research is based on a survey of 1086 undergraduate students at the University of Milan-Bicocca, complemented by focus groups and in-depth interviews. The results of our research show that, even if university students are familiar with digital technologies, the general possession of high level skills in accessing and using the Internet should not be taken for granted.
