This article aims to determine how important the vocational skill education for students in the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School of Kersamanah Garut. The background of this research is that ideally the person who was educated both formal and non-formal schools at least have the skills of life that it faces, especially in the world of work. In fact there are a lot of unemployment among educated either issued by the formal and non-formal education is still unused and still many educational institutions interventioned with offices and civil service, and there are still doubts in the world of work on the output issued boarding. Therefore it is necessary to study "Education Vocational Skills (Case Study In Darusaalam Islamic Boarding School Kersamanah Garut)", This study aims to describe and analyze the development of vocational skills in applied as future supplies students. It uses the method to achieve the goal of research is to reserch descriptive qualitative method. Data retrieval is done by interview, observation and documentation. Results from this study showed that the Darussalam Islamic Boarding school is a boarding school that equip students with vocational skills through extra-curricular activities in the form of education life skills oriented vocational education skills such as : organizational and clerical schools , or in the form of a course in which there are education vocational skills such as : automotive , sewing and culinary art , or other training by bringing in trainers from outside schools , in order to motivate students to become productive graduates who are able to enter public life line

This  Research  was aimed  to determine the construct and  implementation  of the concept of religious tolerance in Darut Taqwa boarding school Pasuruan led by Kyai Sholeh  Bahruddin. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, whereas the method of  data collection used  in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this study showed that: Construct of Kyai Sholeh thought about pluralism and religious tolerance, which is also the foundation for the <br />policy programs at Darut Taqwa boarding school, can be categorized in the inclusive of thought and  attitude, which is believe in the existence of truth and salvation  of other religions but the highest safety standards of truth remain in their own religion. Kyai Sholeh while promoting the truth of Islam as a religion, but He did not reduce its respect for other religions  and not be an impediment to establishing religious tolerance in public life.  Kyai  Sholeh  thought  of religious tolerance is also well applied in  His policies  in managing the boarding school and formal education institutions, which is able to be a reflection of Islam and Islamic  boarding school which are inclusive and rahmatan lil alamin.

This article uses an examination of journalism and mass communication (JMC) education in Pakistan as a case study to explore the consequences of increased homogenization of JMC education around the world. Anchored by a qualitative method that relies heavily on actor-network theory, the study identifies key moments and people in the trajectory of five Pakistani programmes and explores the connection between these programmes and the larger JMC organizational field. The study concludes by questioning the efficacy of the current power structures within the supranational JMC organizational field before discussing how these influences could potentially be mitigated moving forward.

This article discusses the importance of vision and mission of the Islamic Education Lecturers (IELs) in teaching and learning (TnL). This study was fully conducted through qualitative method via case study. Six IELs were selected as participants and willing to be interviewed, and the data from the interview were supported by three Heads of Islamic Education Unit, 12 lecturers and 12 students. The data were triangulated with the data obtained through observation and document analysis. The data were analysed through N’Vivo software to generate a pattern of themes and characteristics of the vision and mission in TnL. The result found that there were six elements of vision and mission emphasized by the IELs in TnL. Five of them had formed a pattern. That five elements were; students receiving and appreciating, TnL objective achieved, spreading da’wah, moulding students attidtude and thinking, and achieving success in the world and the hereafter. Therefore, a model which is named as Model of the Vision and Mission Practice for the Excellent Islamic Education Lecturers was deloped. From the overall view, the emphasis on achieving mission and vision helps the IELs to successfully conduct TnL inside and outside classroom.

This study aims to see the potential of students in digital literacy transformation entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 at the Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Sleman Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation and interviews with 10 students. The results of this study found that students have mastered the technology of digital literacy transformation of students in the potential of mastering digital literacy. This is because Islamic boarding schools still limit the length of time they use technology. Although this pesantren has used modern pesantren. Pesantren leaders must balance religious education with technology so that graduates are not less competitive when they enter tertiary institutions and the world of work. For future researchers, it will be deeper in digging up information and using more samples.

Abstract: Education is possibly to have people attain the perfection of life both in their relationship with God, fellow human beings and nature. A well relationship is only possible if people have a balance between their orientation in the world and in the hereafter. Therefore, in order to achieve the aforementioned objective, they should have adequate religious education and general equally through educational institutions. One of the Islamic educational institutions is a dormitory or boarding school where students (Islamic pupils) learn to improve the Islamic religion. Education on Islamic educational institutions also aims to establish a generation of believers-Muslim virtuous, health, broad-minded, and social, rise intelligent scholars who have equal devotions and thought, as well as establish nationalism of Indonesian citizen who have a faithful and pious to Allah Almighty. In general, Islamic educational institutions are classified into three categories: a) traditional pesantren (Salaf), which still retains the traditional teaching methods and teaching materials with classic books (yellow book), b) modern pesantren (khalaf), which seeks to fully integrate the classical and the current school and university system, and 3) semi salaf and khalaf Islamic schools who defend the teaching of classical Islamic books, as well as open public educational institutions (formal or non-formal education).

Human is the creation of Allah swt who have morals, potentials, orientations, and tendencies toward positive and negative things. It is a characteristic and moral tied in every human. To neutralize and create a better human which is in accordance with the main purposes of  His creator, it needs specific ways to maintain a pure human appearance in their daily life. One of the ways to return and maintain their pureness is through dhikr. It has been implemented by one of the traditional educational institutions in East Aceh, namely the Islamic Boarding School Asasul Islamiyah and the Islamic Boarding School Darul Muta'allimin. In addition, besides teaching a religious subject as the main subject matter, they are also having daily dhikr-routine, before and after praying, and it becomes the main purpose to develop students’ morals. This study explores the implementation of dhikr as a development toward Islamic boarding school’s students’ daily morals in East Aceh regency, with aims (1) To figure out what kind of the several dhikr in the Islamic Boarding School Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh regency, (2) To figure out a mechanism of implementing dhikr in the Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and the Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh, (3) To know an implication dhikr toward daily morals’ development in Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh. This present study is qualitative research which is used as a field research method and uses primary and secondary data. The data collection methods used are observations and interviews. The present study found that the varied of dhikr words which are pointed in Islamic boarding school Asasul Islamiyah and Islamic boarding school Darul Muta'allimin, East Aceh Regency is istighfar, tauhid (لا اله الا الله), tasbih, tahlil, shalawat (remembering The Prophet), yassin, reciting Al-Qur’an verses and having a close-by reciting do’a. The mechanisms of implementing dhikr used in both Islamic boarding schools, methodology and time, are similar; using dhikr dzahir and dhikr sirri, in addition, the time is daily; before and after praying. Moreover, one of the dhikr implications toward the students’ daily morals development is enhancing Islamic spirituality through remembering Allah SWT in order to form a balancing life between the world and the day after, also have good morals toward humans (habl min al-nās)  and Allah SWT (habl min Allāh).

The leadership of the kiai becomes very important in Islamic boarding school because the development of the quality of pesantren education depends on the competence of the leader, the meaning of the leader here is the kiai or caretaker of the boarding school. This study aims to describe the first role of leadership in improving the quality of education, secondly the leadership of kiai that is effective in improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools.This research uses a qualitative method, with a case study in Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation and observation techniques. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative methods and inductive thinking patterns. The purpose is to analyze the data obtained from field objects, and then to be related to relevant theories.The results showed: 1) The role of the kiai in improving quality in the Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic boarding school in Malang is as a manager, educator, human resource empowerment, decision maker, attainee of the pesantren, motivator and supervisor. 2) Effective kiai leadership is leadership that builds cooperation with kiai or other institutions, regenerates kiai and builds good relations with the community.

This paper presents the phenomenon that develops in society, related to the existence of religious commodification in business, namely the labeling of "Syari'ah" as a medium to attract customer loyalty in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. The labeling of "Syari'ah" is used as a strategy by industry players by utilizing religion as a selling value to get attention from consumers. Religion is exploited, explored and used as a commodity by the community to take advantage. Kopotren Basmalah as the research site is present as one of the real applications of the pesantren Sidogiri which wants to become a boarding school capable of competing in the world of economy. Pesantren Sidogiri modifies the science of religion and economics to give birth to a sharia-based retail company. A phenomenon that develops in this business, religion is used as a media or tool to sell products from the business. This study uses a qualitative method with phenomenology. The results show that the public perception of the branding of "syari'ah" conducted by the Basmalah copontren namely; loyal oriented customer, performing image, santri entrepreneurship, a place for social piety and debating beliefs in the business of buying and selling.

The research aimed at finding out two questions: 1). what are rural English teachers’ beliefs about English in a rural school in facing the modern era?; and2). to what extent is English important in a rural school related to its global role viewed from teachers’ belief?. This paper utilized qualitative method in the form of case study. The respondents of the study were three English teachers from a rural school. The data were gathered through observation and interview then analyzed through the interactive model which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion: drawing/verification. The data analyzed reveals that: 1). English is crucially needed in rural school to develop human resources and to lead students to get the latest information; 2). English takes the global role in the rural school for helping students to learn internet and computer, to balance human resources and natural resources and as a foundation for making the connection with other people around the world in the wider scope. At the end of the paper, suggestions, and recommendation were also provided. Keywords: teachers’ beliefs, rural school, the importance of English

In educational institutions, both formal and non-formal, the policy of a leader becomes the center of discussion and attention of experts, namely in terms of science itself and other sciences. Based on these facts, especially those related to the policies of the boarding school leaders have the right to all authority and responsibility that exist in the foundation, especially in formal education under its auspices. Therefore it is necessary to re-examine the policies of the Islamic boarding school leaders in the development of formal education, so that in the development of education it is not only in Islamic boarding school education.          Based on the cases taken, the formulation of the research problem is to describe how the policies of the leader of the Islamic boarding school Hidayaul Mubtadi'in Kembang in the development of formal education, and to describe how the policy making process of the leader of the Islamic boarding school Hidayaul Mubtadi'in Kembang in the development of formal education. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out by conducting observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by collecting data which was then selected and simplified according to the research findings, by presenting data that could be drawn conclusions. In this study, the data validity checking techniques used were credibility, transfrability, dependability, and confirmability              The results of this study can be concluded that: 1) The policy of the leader of the Islamic boarding school Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Kembang in the development of formal education is made in a way that is always side by side, in line and continues to collaborate with the school. the policies are also very good, and very supportive of the existing programs in schools. Planning any policies before the start of each year of the education period. Planning references are the government's vision and mission, vision and mission of the institutions and pesantren programs. Policy efforts include meetings to evaluate development programs, strengthening collaboration, and building creativity and innovation in entrepreneurship. Policies are made on the basis of deliberation and the existence of responsible parties, namely caregivers, administrators, school principals and all WAKA, 2) The process of making policies for the leadership of the Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Kembang Islamic boarding school in the development of formal education, namely receiving input and suggestions by considering conditions and situations, communicate intensively, and use the alternative dar'ul mafasid muqoddamu 'ala jalbil masholih in the rules of ushul fiqh, accompanied by holding meetings and deliberations.
