This study examines the relationship of consumers' experiential pursuing tendency and experience perception with the moderating role of consumers' expertise and their demographics, sex and age. Experience pursuing tendency is based on an individual personality. Experience perception is individuals' affection in the procession of consumption or after purchase. The study found that there are relationships between consumers' experience pursuing tendency and experience perception, sensual, affective consumers perceived even more emotional dimensions of experience. Whereas the other side of consumers, the pursuers more practical are less susceptible to emotional experience and more to professional experience. Accumulated knowledge by indirect learning or directly by oneself does not control the relationship between experiential pursuing tendency and experience perception. But sex and age among demographics are involving the relationships between them. Aged consumers over 50s perceived experience less, especially to the emotional side of experience perception. Finally, managerial and research implications are presented from the results of the study.

ABSTRACT

Continuous improvement is a well developed field of study at the entrepreneurial level. On the other hand, innovation seems to be the remedy for any kind of problem faced by both businesses and countries on the XXI century. Both these concepts plus a growing concern for the environment and the introduction of environmentally friendly policies by civil societies, companies and public administrations, lead us to question if there is a common relationship between these concepts. Thus, this work explores the existing relationship between management´s desire to improve a company´s environmental management and the application of continuous improvement as part of an innovating orientation. To that end, data related to 8038 Spanish companies gathered from the PITEC database was analyzed using quantitative techniques. After classifying the companies into groups with different environmental proactiveness, results show that the companies with a greater environmental proactiveness display a direct relationship with innovation and continuous improvement activities.
de innovacion y mejora continua.

AbstractThe aim of this research was to study the differences in social presence and autonomy concerning the two methods of education used in a training program for science teachers in the years 2015-2016. The first method was the traditional face to face and the other was the Distance Education method. In particular, the study focused on whether there are differences in the social presence and autonomy between the two teaching methods, and the teaching experience of the participants. A closed-type questionnaire of Likert type was used to collect the data, while t-test for independent samples was used for statistical analysis. The study indicated differences in the social presence and autonomy between the two methods of teaching.

For the past three years, both of the authors have been participants in the creation of a network of anthropologists practicing with masters' degrees. The observations in this article have slowly grown out of the experiences of members of this network, as well as the professional experience of the authors. Murdoch, on the one hand, has been consistently engaged in work on the fringes of applied research, with a focus on policy development and NGOs. Jenakovich, on the other, has worked primarily with grassroots, educational, nonprofit organizations, with a 2-year stint as assistant graduate director for an applied anthropology training program. Both authors also have experience with independent consulting.

This study aimed to determine, by logistic regression, if the occurrence of market timing and the lifecycle stage influence the decision to carry out an equity public offering in Brazilian companies. The analysis focuses on whether the probability of a company making an equity public offering is negatively related to the BM index, future returns, number of years of life and size. The sample was composed by non-financial companies with stock traded on BMFBovespa. As main results, can be concluded that there is a inverse relationship between probability of equity public offering and the lifecycle stage. On the other hand, there were no evidence confirming the relationship between the BM index and the decision to carry out a equity public offering, as required by the market timing theory. Finally, no evidence was found that companies take advantage of market opportunities to issue stocks. However, evidence was found that the majority of equity public offerings was carried out by young and small companies.

The ability to cooperate with others in interorganisational dyads and networks is a source of competitive advantage for firms today. However, the question arises as to whether managers are aware of this and implement relational orientation as a strategy in their firms to obtain relational rent. The purpose of this paper is to provide an answer to this question. The research was conducted on 53 companies based in Poland using semi-structured interviews with executives. On one hand, the research results allowed recognition of the importance of and reasons for firms forming, developing, and withdrawing from interorganisational relations, and on the other hand, confirmed a relationship between a managers’ network awareness and the strategic relational orientation of their firms. The higher the manager’s network awareness, the more interorganisational relations a company forms with different partners, and the better the manager’s knowledge about their partners’ expectations and needs, which are then included in a company’s strategy.

Whether you read the whole book from beginning to end or just read selected chapters or sections, I hope you know more about the history of the Russian language than you did before you started reading. I will not review the contents of the book here, since each chapter contains a detailed summary. Instead, I offer some reflections on the three kinds of information you find in this book, and the relationship between them. Purpose – This study examines the association between performance and competence development among Swedish micro firms, measured as number of hours per person a company allocates annually to competence development. Design/methodology/approach – A panel dataset consisting of around 395 firms will be analyzed using seemingly unrelated regression-model (SUR-model) for relationships between the hours allocated to competence development and various proxies for business performance, and the relationship between attending a business training program and various proxies for business performance. Findings – The empirical results are mixed showing a positive association between owners' attendance on a business training program and company performance merely with regard to four performance variables: better job satisfaction within a company, increased number of employees, organizational improvements and increased exports. However, the findings provide no evidence to suggest that there is a link between competence development and other performance variables. Practical implications – The present study provides a better understanding of the relationship between company performance and competence development. An investment in entrepreneur training and education could ensure the improvement of the performance of micro firms. This implication is especially relevant to firms in such industries as the service sectors, which are highly competitive. Originality/value – This study is based on a unique sample including many relevant variables, compared to previous researches. To the authors' best knowledge, this study is the one of the first empirical investigations focusing on this issue in the Swedish context.
