India is the second-largest populous country in the world. Population plays a vital role in any country. India is not only rich in natural resources but also blessed with human resources. Population growth of any area is an index of economic development, cultural background, historical event, social awakening and political ideology. In our country, the population increased at a rapid rate. This paper deals with population characteristics of the Allahabad district which mainly includes the growth of population and population density of Allahabad district. This paper is purely based on secondary data of Census 1991, 2001, and 2011 and shows the data through charts and graphs.

This article argues for adapting Porter’s Five Forces Model to strategic human resources management. The world business environment is facing real challenges: Shortage of talents, ageing of the world population, and disappearance of repetitive jobs. For a sustainable approach, the quality and stability of human capital should be analyzed strategically, based on the influence of five forces which act in the market: Competition in the industrial sector between specialists with core competencies (rivalry), demands of the hiring companies in terms of the number of employees and updated skills (organizations as buyers), recruitment companies and schools (suppliers), effects of globalization on people’s migration (new entrants), and modern technologies and innovation (substitutes). The stronger the forces are, the harder it will be for the organization to select or retain valuable employees who will add value to products/services. Actual and future employees should analyze the intensity of these forces when they plan to prepare for jobs or change their career. This analysis was focused mainly on the manufacturing sector, where jobs based on repetitive or dangerous tasks may disappear in time.

Purpose More than ever before, people from around the world are migrating away from their country of birth. Yet citizens of host countries do not always welcome these immigrants – instead, citizens sometimes express prejudice toward them. The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors that influence attitudes toward immigrants cross-nationally. Design/methodology/approach Secondary data from the International Social Survey Programme, which includes data from 30 countries across two time points, were analyzed. Findings Findings indicate that people with higher level of education tend to have more favorable attitudes toward immigrants, while those with more politically conservative leanings and those with a greater sense of national identity tend to hold more prejudicial attitudes toward immigrants. At the country/regional level, education is consistent in its relationship with more favorable attitudes. However, political conservatism is less consistent in predicting prejudice – the relationship is strong in western democracies, but is largely negligible in other parts of the world. Originality/value The present analyses carry implications for improving anti-immigrant prejudice throughout the world.

Pomegranates are one of the most important fruits in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan, which is famous for its pomegranates around the world. Pomegranates play a vital role in the socio-economic life of those who grow them. This study empirically analyzed the value chain of pomegranate production in Kandahar using primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected from 200 pomegranate growers in the Dand, Panjwai, and Daman districts of Kandahar province. These growers were selected using a random sampling method and the data was collected using a structured, pre-tested questionnaire. The secondary data was collected from traders, local collectors, and exporters of pomegranates involving 30 pomegranate selling companies. The value chain analysis shows that from the main four chains of pomegranate production (farmer, collector, trader, and exporter), the main actors are the exporters who process pomegranate and add the greatest value by investing in marketing, shipment, and warehousing and receive highest profit margin among the stakeholders. Exporters of pomegranates to Europe earn an average of 66 Afghani per kg. The next greatest beneficiaries are the growers or farmers who earn an average of 23 AFN on each kg. Local collectors who buy pomegranates from farmers earn the least, at an average of 13 AFN per kg over the costs of processing and transportation.

Demographics of India is remarkably diverse. India is the second most populous country in the world with more than one sixth of the world population. The stock of any population changes with time. There are three components of population changes which are fertility, mortality and migration. Socio economic phenomena of population development and their impact and differentials like urbanization, infant mortality rate, migration and causes of death are important to understand the population characteristics. It is observed that the growth of population depends on birth rate and death rates in India. During first phase birth rate as well as death rate was high. In the fourth phase birth rate and death rates are decline. It was also found that life expectancy at birth had been gradually increased in India. There is a need to coordinate the population policy with education policy. Employment generation programmes has been launched in the country to solve unemployment problem and mitigate rural unemployment.

AbstrakMenurut data statistik kependudukan dunia megatakan bahwa Negara Indonesia memliki jumlah penduduk terbanyak ke-empat, sebanyak 237,6 juta jiwa. Indonesia juga merupakan negara kepulauan yang terbesar di dunia (the biggest archipelago state in the world). Keadaan tanahnya yang subur, dan terletak diantara dua benua serta dua samudera besar, membuat posisi geografis Indonesia sangat strategis. Hal ini menyebabkan banyak negara lain di dunia sejak dulu ingin menguasai bumi nusantara ini. Pembukaan UUD NRI 1945 merupakan sumber dorongan terbesar tekad bangsa Indonesia untuk mencapai suatu tujuan bangsa. Salah satu upayanya adalah dengan memperkuat pertahanan dan keamanan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Namun, pada penerapanya saat ini SISHANKAMRATA belum berjalan secara optimal dalam melindungi dan mempertahankan kedaulatan negara Indonesia. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti rendahnya kualitas SDM, lemahnya ketahanan ekonomi Indonesia, kurang harmonisnya hubungan TNI dan Polri, rendahnya stabilitas politik, dan pudarnya rasa nasionalisme pada generasi muda. Untuk itu diperlukannya sebuah Kebijakan Pembangunan Kekuatan Pertahanan mencakup pembangunan kemampuan nasional. Konsep Optimalisasi SISHANKAMRATA dengan 5 Pilar Total Defence System sebagai pembaharuan dan penguatan dari pertahanan nasional dengan menggabungkan konsep SISHANKAMRATA Indonesia dengan konsep Total Defence System Singapura yang selaras dengan cita-cita Dasar Negara. Jenis penelitian yang akan digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian yuridis-normatif dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan perundang-undangan (statue-approach), pendekatan konseptual (conseptual approach), dan pendekatan komparatif (comparative approach), Konsep Optimalisasi SISHANKAMRATA dengan lima Pilar Total Defence System memberikan solusi yang solutif dalam awal langkah baru menyongsong negara Indonesia yang Berdaulat dengan Pengoptimalan Sistem Pertahanan Nasional Indonesia dalam Kerangka SIHANKAMRATA.Kata kunci: SISHANKAMRATA,Sumber daya Manusia.AbstrakAccording to world population statistics, Indonesia has the fourth largest population, 237.6 million. The preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia is the greatest source of encouragement for the Indonesian nation's determination to achieve a national goal. One of the efforts is to strengthen the defense and security of the Republic of Indonesia. However, in its current implementation, SISHANKAMRATA has not been running optimally in protecting and defending the sovereignty of the Indonesian state. This is due to several factors such as the low quality of human resources, the weak resilience of the Indonesian economy, the lack of harmony between the TNI and the Police, low political stability, and a fading sense of nationalism in the younger generation. For this reason, a Defense Force Development Policy is needed which includes building national capabilities. The concept of optimizing SISHANKAMRATA with 5 Pillars of Total Defense System as a renewal and strengthening of national defense by combining the Indonesian SISHANKAMRATA concept with the Singapore Total Defense System concept which is in line with the Basic ideals of the State. The type of research that the writer will use in this research is juridical-normative research using the statue-approach method, the conceptual approach, and the comparative approach, the SISHANKAMRATA Optimization Concept with the five Pillars of Total Defense. The system provides a solution that is a solution in the beginning of a new step towards welcoming the Sovereign Indonesian state by optimizing the Indonesian National Defense System in the SIHANKAMRATA Framewor.Keywords: SISHANKAMRATA,Human Resources.

Globalization, political instability, poverty, forced immigration and many other factors created a state of diversity in the composition of the world population, and accordingly diversity transferred into organizations, causing a big and unavoidable challenge to business organizations. Diverse human resources can be a source of success if they are well managed strategically, and could be the opposite if they were ignored, and don’t have the needed inclusiveness.This study aimed first to find out the degree to which the Jordanian food industry companies are engaged in Human Resources Diversity Management (DM) in terms of (equity and justice in applying human resources strategies), empowerment and religious freedom. And second to examine the influence of (DM) strategies on workers (performance, cooperation, commitment and loyalty), 150 of non-Jordanian workers at 5 companies operating at King Abdulla the second industrial city were surveyed, depending on the workers responses it was found that the 5 companies do engage in (DM) strategies, except for staffing which is restricted by the Jordanian Labor Law, the results of multiple regression showed that all DM strategies have an influence on workers performance.Empowerment has only an influence on workers cooperation, and religious freedom affects workers commitment and loyalty.The researcher recommended that more involvement in organizational activities, equity, justice and good treatment, will enhance workers cooperation, commitment and loyalty.

The vital role of waqf institution and its contribution in many sectors becomes the core of the strongest economy in the Muslim community in the past at present. Waqf is the main sponsorship for the Muslim community when its function is to eliminate ignorance through education. Education is the most important thing in this era which can change an individual style of life. The success of education can become a medium in developing the country through the success of producing a quality, potential, creative and innovative product. This research tends to explore the history of waqf and education in order to identify the way of improving the waqf role in this era. A descriptive research methodology will be used. Analyzing information from secondary data such as journals, paper works, and relevant articles will be done. Waqf Management and administration should be done in order to prepare for the Industry Revolution 4.0 which robotic has replaced human resources. The effectiveness of waqf in education will enable to produce quality human resources and provide a better education for the community.

PurposeThis study examines which dimensions of a business environment are most important for attracting globally mobile self-initiated expatriates to a country. The authors use secondary data from the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, IMD and the World Population Review to test eight hypotheses involving six macro-contextual factors that prior studies suggest attract internationally mobile skilled professionals, such as self-initiated expatriates, to a country's business environment. The macro-contextual factors examined are socio-cultural, economic, natural, ecological, technological clusters and legal and regulatory.Design/methodology/approachThe authors use secondary data from the World Bank, IMD, World Population Report and the World Economic Forum to test eight hypotheses concerning macro-contextual factors that attract self-initiated expatriates to a country's business environment.FindingsThe study finds that factors such as the ease of hiring foreign labor, the use of English, macroeconomic stability, the diversity of the workforce and the quality of life in a country positively influence the attractiveness of its business environment to self-initiated expatriates. The study also finds that a business environment's socio-cultural, natural, economic and legal and regulatory macro-contextual attributes make it attractive to self-initiated expatriates.Originality/valueTo reduce common source bias, the authors use secondary data from four sources to examine which of six macro-contextual factors make a sample of 63 national business environments attractive to self-initiated expatriates. This study is one of the few to examine the impact of business environments on global mobility.
