A primary investigation was also conducted to identify different facts which helped in designing of the introduction part along with literature review. Later data analysis was conducted on data collected from 114 samples through online questionnaire involving both structured and unstructured questions. Statistical methods of descriptive analysis, discrimination analysis and cross tabulation (with Cramer V calculation for association test) were used to test the strength of association between prime factors based on gender. The results of this research can be useful for researchers, academicians and others in this field who can learn and benefit to a great extent.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic Universities around the world are taking rapid actions to ensure students learning continuity and secure the well-being of their students. This study aims at exploring the student’s e-learning experience in Jordanian Universities as well as e-learning readiness during the pandemic. While each university is unique, we hope our assessment can provide some insights into how well the student’s e-learning experience was during the pandemic. A structural online questionnaire was distributed, followed by descriptive analysis. Students from remote and disadvantaged areas primarily faced enormous challenges such as technological accessibility, poor internet connectivity, and harsh study environments. This study also highlights the role of electronic commerce in transforming distance learning. Further investments and contingency plans are needed to develop a resilient education system that supports electronic and distance learning throughout Jordan.

Kata Kunci: Al-Attas; Asuransi; Islamisasi ABSTRACT In this contemporary period, many Indonesian Muslim communities assume that insurance is the best choice. Because they assume that insurance can guarantee their lives. But, this is not justified in Islamic shari'ah because the insurance they use is conventional insurance. Which there many problems in its such as gharar and maisir which are very contrary to the Islamic shari'ah. Therefore it is necessary to hold Islamization in the existing conventional insurance concept, so that conventional insurance in Indonesia can change in accordance with the concept of insurance in Islam. The study method used in discussing this problem is literature research. The data in this study were obtained by using the documentary method, to find data on conventional insurance concepts and the concepts, theories and processes of Islamization of Naquib al-Attas and Isma'il Raji al-Faruqi sourced from books, journals, the internet, and papers. The data analysis methods used are inductive, deductive, and comparative descriptive analysis. Islamization applied to the concept of conventional insurance by using the Islamization process described by Al-Attas, first, by removing Western concepts and values in the concept of insurance, such as the concept of charred money, the concept of usury, the concept of gharar and maisir, and contract tabaduli. And second, incorporating Islamic concepts and values into them, such as the concept of akad takafuli, tabarru', mudharabah, amanah concept, and the concept of supervision of insurance that is carried out. So if this Islamization is applied to the all conventional insurance in the world, then everything will turn out to be an insurance concept that is in accordance with Islamic values. Keyword: Al-Attas; Islamization; Insurance

Purpose The purpose of this paper is twofold: first, to provide a descriptive analysis of consumers’ ability to comprehend and use common price promotion information when they choose to do so (e.g. to find the least expensive price or to understand the savings amount); second, to identify which consumer groups (in terms of demographic characteristics) find price promotion comprehension particularly challenging. Design/methodology/approach An online questionnaire with 14 measures (four literacy, ten numeracy) was administered in the study. Data from 607 Australian consumers were analysed using descriptive, cross-tabulation, and multiple regression analysis via IBM SPSS analytics software. Findings On average, 20 per cent of the consumers surveyed were unable to comprehend the price promotion signage. On average, 13 per cent of the consumers were unable to carry out arithmetic tasks using the information on price promotion signage. Multiple regression models showed that income level was the main driving factor for the consumers’ price promotion literacy and numeracy levels. Research limitations/implications The present study is the first exploratory examination of consumers’ levels of comprehension (literacy) and effective use (numeracy) regarding common types of price promotion communication. The use of online samples and data collection method overestimates the results effect. Originality/value This is a pilot field study to investigate whether levels of consumers’ price promotion literacy and numeracy are adequate for everyday decision making. The information can be used as evidence and justification for further research.

Researchers have emphasized the role of e-commerce for small enterprises in improving their performance. However, there is limited evidence on the use of e-commerce by small enterprises, and e-commerce adopters and non-adopters dealing with COVID-19. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in the impact of COVID-19 on income between small enterprises that are adopters and non-adopters of e-commerce. This study also explored the impact of restrictions on community activities, the intention to adopt e-commerce, and the types of assistance required by small enterprises due to the pandemic. Data were collected through an online questionnaire survey among small enterprises that operate in the culinary field (1,024 small enterprises in Indonesia). The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, cross-tabulation, and the Mann-Whitney test. This study finds that non-adoption of e-commerce caused small enterprises to experience a decline in income, which worsened due to restrictions of community activities, compared to adopters of e-commerce. Therefore, to overcome this negativity, small enterprises were pushed to adopt e-commerce. Finally, working capital assistance is the main assistance required due to the pandemic both by e-commerce adopters and non-adopters. This study has significant implications for how small enterprises and governments may benefit from e-commerce dealing with extreme disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic. AcknowledgmentWe are grateful to Mulawarman University for providing us with the funding necessary to gather the necessary data for the study and complete this empirical investigation. We also would like to thank two anonymous reviewers and seminar participants at Mulawarman University for their helpful feedback.
