In many ways it’s a reflection of yourself as a researcher and an insight into your proposed work. A poorly written proposal has the ability to wreck a project and embarrass the researcher before it has even begun. Similarly, a well-constructed proposal bodes well for the success of the project and displays the researcher in a good light amongst their peers and supervisors. The research proposal identifies: • What the topic is, both in terms of background and the individual area of interest. • What you plan to accomplish and why it needs doing. • What in particular you are trying to find out, i.e. the research question. • How you will get the answer to your question, i.e. your methodology. • What others will learn from it and why it is worth learning. • How long it will take. • How much money it will cost. Through your research proposal you are attempting to convince potential supporters that your project is worth doing, you are scientifically competent to run it, and are in possession of the necessary management skills to ensure its completion. The proposal concisely describes the key elements of the study process, although in sufficient depth to permit evaluation. It is a stand-alone document that must contain evidence of an answerable question, demonstrate your grasp of the literature, and also clearly show that your methodology is sound. A research time-table is required to demonstrate a realistic appreciation of how the study will progress through time. The research proposal serves many purposes to many different parties. Amongst these purposes, some of the key ones are: • Acting as a route map and timetable for all involved in your project. • Giving a clear overview of your planned work to ensure favourable decision at ethical review. • Gaining funding to carry out your proposed study. • Securing a place to undertake a higher scientific degree. • Being an opportunity to ‘blow your own trumpet’ on paper. Although there are several bodies who will be obliged to see your proposal, there is a reasonable chance it will end up being wider read than this, so a coherent piece of work will reflect well on you.

The article focuses on the problems of teaching social studies at high school. The author tries to actualize the use of gaming technologies during lessons. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the game in teaching social studies to schoolchildren. During social studies lessons, it is necessary to use various teaching methods, one of which is the game. Thanks to the game, the theoretical knowledge gained during the lesson will be much better assimilated by students. Also, thanks to game technologies, it is possible to solve the problem of educational motivation of schoolchildren; it will be interesting for any student to participate in a game. Play activity today is of great importance in the development and education of the individual, as it gives each child an opportunity to feel themselves as a subject of a certain type of activity, to express themselves, to form thier own abilities. During the game, an intellectually passive student can perform such a volume of work that is completely inaccessible to them in a traditional educational situation. In scientific and other pedagogical studies related to play activities, one can find the concept of an "emotional accelerator" of learning. In addition to theoretical research, the article describes a pedagogical experiment, in which 20 students of 10th grades took part. The article says that using various play forms and methods it is possible to alternate between “serious” and “frivolous” work, and thereby ensure sustained attention to the studied material in the classroom, and the study of the course “Social Studies” at high school is a vital necessity. It is important to provide quality education using various active methods and techniques, in particular, using the form of business games.

The Rorschach test appears to be decidedly useful as a diagnostic tool. The test interpretations supply a concise picture of the individuals’ outstanding personality characteristics and the underlying dynamics of behavior. Adoption studies are completed with far greater understanding and certainty on the part of the caseworker than when subjective evaluation alone is relied upon. The most important factor to be looked for in adoption applicants is the ability to relate to other people. Not only does the inability to relate to others indicate a poor adoption risk, but it would also raise serious question as to the accessibility of the person to treatment or modification of personality trends during a period of supervision. Another area in which the Rorschach gives specific evidence difficult to obtain in the interview is that related to the individuals’ feelings of security and adequacy. In studying interview and test material there appears to be a dearth of evidence in the former and a wealth of findings in the latter as to the way in which individuals use their inner resources to maintain themselves. The Rorschach test is a valuable tool in pointing up defenses and in revealing the ego strengths of the individual who must deal with these problems. The projective test is also of great value in indicating marked deviations and emotional disturbances, particularly in the psychosexual sphere, which might have a destructive influence on the child. The test findings can help define the extent to which the individual accepts his own femininity or masculinity. The use of Rorschach tests is not a substitute for skilled casework, and, in fact, should only be used where such workers are available. The test itself is of value only when it is conducted by a highly trained and experienced Rorschach expert and when a psychiatrist is available for consultation. The trend in adoption practice is toward placement of babies soon after birth when this plan appears sound so far as the natural mother is concerned. This implies additional risk as well as additional satisfaction for adoptive parents. It insures more security for a child. In view of this trend agencies are faced with the need to select couples with maximum surety as to their potentialities as parents. This use of Rorschach tests as a diagnostic tool is a step in that direction. Its results so far point to many other areas for research. Perhaps the findings of such additional research projects are the only means of proving the soundness of the study process used in this experiment.

Abstract Background Epidemiological changes led to review health services organization and nursing education, in order to train practitioners capable of effectively dealing with new healthcare needs. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is a post-graduation training curriculum aimed at providing nurses a method to approach complex and unconventional problems. This survey aims to assess if the skills acquired through MSN degree were implemented in the workplace and were useful for professional advancements. Methods This survey involved 257 MSN graduates of Polytechnic University of Marche, 196 of them completed the survey (response rate 76.3%). Logistic regression models were developed to test independent correlation between variables. Results A positive relation between acquisition of skills and their implementation in the workplace has been demonstrated in all training areas: clinical (OR=25.2; p<0.001), management (OR=7.4; p<0.001), educational (OR=14.2; p<0.001), research (OR=18.8; p<0.001). Only implementation of management skills resulted associated to hierarchical position (nurse managers: OR=11.8; p=0.006; service director nurses: OR=14.6; p=0.025) and age class (≥50 years old: OR=7.3; p=0.004). Economical progressions resulted to be only related to formal hierarchical advancements (OR=27.9; p<0.001), but acquisition of skills allows MSN graduated to increase collaboration in research or educative projects (OR=3.3; p=0.010) and publication of scientific papers (OR=8.7; p<0.001). Conclusions Although application of managerial skills requires the achievement of a higher hierarchical position, implementation of these skills can be realized by all MSN graduates, regardless of their age and hierarchical position. This contribute to improve areas of research and develop new models of nursing care necessary to manage chronic and complex patients.

The purpose of this chapter is to explore why juggling all the different and demanding roles of a medical professional is by no means an easy task. Perhaps the biggest challenge for doctors is time management and multitasking. Much of this is part and parcel of an ordinary doctor's life, but due to the peculiar nature and complex paradigms of modern health care services, special emphasis must be put on empowering fledgling medical professionals with such managerial skills. Resident medical physicians and surgeons should at least be aware of the countless opportunities available as well as how to get the best out of them.
