Distinctive personality traits account for every person, who they are, and how they behave. This study reported the personality traits and extent of misdemeanor of high school students. Additionally, the relationship between personality traits and misdemeanor in demographic variables was also explored. Using descriptive- correlational research designs, 100 respondents who were identified with misdemeanor cases provided data for this study. Using frequency count, mean, and Chi-square in analyzing the results, findings of the study revealed an average level of personality traits and a moderate extent of misdemeanor. Alcohol, school misconduct, and vandalism were found as salient misdemeanor acts among respondents. Furthermore, both indirect and direct salient factors attributed to personality traits and misdemeanor were influential to students. Moreover, indirect and direct sources could predict personality traits and misdemeanor among demographic variables. Intervention program that motivates positive attitude and discipline should be established to manage and cope with behavioral problems.

Distinctive personality traits account for every person, who they are, and how they behave. These have impacts on the way people perceive the world. Like adults, children and adolescents can be described in terms of personality traits such as characteristics, patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. This study reports the personality traits and extent of a misdemeanor of high school students. Also, it seeks to find out if one's personality traits affect the behavioral tendencies and vice-versa, how these traits develop across childhood and adolescence, and how they relate in the transition of adolescence period that involves changes in biological, socio-emotional, and well-being. The vast majority of research has focused more on adulthood and is scarcer than adolescent personality traits research. Additionally, the relationship between personality traits and misdemeanor and the demographic variables was also explored.

Abstract Introduction Although napping is very common and related to the outcome of individual development, the relationship between napping and health is not the same in different social and cultural contexts. In China, napping is considered as a healthy lifestyle and is often associated with better adolescent development outcomes. As a special group of teenagers (the academic level does not meet the requirements of ordinary high school), vocational high school students have a higher incidence of behavioral problems than ordinary high school students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of napping and its relationship with behavioral problems in vocational high school students. Methods The napping questionnaire, Youth Self Report (YSR), general information questionnaire and other tools for covariates were used to measure 2505 high school students (62.04% boys, 37.96% girls, 16.71±0.02 years), recruited by convenient sampling. The relationship between nappingand behavioral problems was analyzed by multiple linear regression. Results 72.58% of the participants reported taking a midday nap at least three days per week during the past month, and 55.79% of our sample reported naps more than 30 minutes. Multiple regression analysis showed that nap frequency was negatively associated with high school students’ behavior problems after controlling for general characteristics and other important covariates. Compared with high school students who did not nap or napped less than 1 time/week, high school students who napped 1–2 times/week or 3–4 times/week had lower level of both internalizing behavior problems and externalizing behavior problems. There was no statistically significant association between nap duration and behavior problems. Conclusion This study finds that when napping is allowed, moderate frequency of napping is associated with lower level of internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems in vocational high school students, while nap duration is not significantly associated with behavioral problems. Further research is needed to explore the mechanism of the relationship between napping and behavior problems. Support (if any):

Phubbing is a new form of neglect, and recent studies have examined the effects of parental phubbing on adolescent psychological development. The aim of this study was to explore whether there would be a significant correlation between mother phubbing (Mphubbing) and loneliness and whether mother–adolescent communication (MAC) and perceived mother acceptance (PMA) would sequentially mediate the relation between Mphubbing and adolescent loneliness. Our study included 3,293 senior high school students from China who completed measurements regarding demographic variables, Mphubbing, MAC, PMA, and loneliness. The sequential mediation model of MAC and PMA in the relationship between Mphubbing and loneliness was analyzed to verify all possible paths in this study. Taking the demographic variables as covariables, the results indicated that (1) Mphubbing was positively correlated with loneliness in adolescents and (2) MAC and PMA mediated the relationship between Mphubbing and adolescent loneliness sequentially. Our study highlights the potential mediating mechanisms between Mphubbing and adolescent loneliness, which has important implications for the theoretical and practical of adolescent loneliness in the age of mobiles.

In adolescence, there are significant changes in behavior, which are largely determined by personality traits and perceptions which adolescents have about themselves. The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between basic personality dimensions of Eysenck model and certain aspects of self-concept among high school students. The sample consisted of 200 students in the second and fourth year of high school. The research results confirm the existence of significant correlation between all three investigated dimensions of personality and certain aspects of self-concept in adolescence. Thus, it was determined that neuroticism is positively associated with fear of negative evaluation, externality and low social desirability and negatively with loneliness. Extraversion is positively related to persistence, self-esteem and general life satisfaction, and negatively with the perceived incompetence, loneliness, fear of negative evaluation and externality, and low psychoticism is positively associated with persistence, self-esteem and general satisfaction, and negatively with the perceived incompetence and loneliness.
