Reading is one of skills which is crucial to be taught in the Elementary School. SQ4R (survey, question, read, reflect, and review) strategy is one of the alternatives that could be used to improve the students’ reading comprehension. The aim of this research was to describe the implementation of SQ4R strategy in improving the students’ reading comprehension skill in pre-reading, whilst-reading and post-reading in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 51/II Desa Paku Aji Kecamatan Tanah Sepenggal Lintas Kabupaten Bungo. This was a Classroom Action Research. The result of date analysis indicated that the use of SQ4R strategy could improve the students’ reading comprehension skill in pre-reading, whilst-reading and post-reading in the fifth grade of SD Negeri 51/II Desa Paku Aji.

<em>The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of the struggle in maintaining Indonesia’s independence concept through the implementation of Everyone Is A Teacher Here learning model supported by audio visual media on fifth grade students of an elementary school in Surakarta.This research is a Classroom Action Research. The data obtained by doing interview, observation, test, and documentation. The validity of the data is tested using content validity and triangulation. The data analysis used is interactive analysis model.The result of this research is classical completeness on pre-action is 13, 79%, on cycle I the classical completeness increases to 53, 57%, and on cycle II the classical completeness increases to 88,89%. Based on the results of research, it is found that the implementation of Everyone Is A Teacher Here learning model supported by audio visual media improves the understanding of the struggle in maintaining Indonesia’s independence concept on on fifth grade students of an elementary school in Surakarta.</em>

The children of disorder intellectually undemanding should have reading comprehension competence to be able to follow the instructional development optimally. However, many children do not have such competence that they can not understand the reading passages properly. To solve the problem, this research conducted a classroom action research in the fifth grade of SDLB C Dian Kahuripan, Jakarta. Employing Close method in two cycles, the research discovered significant improvement of the students’ reading comprehension competence. The research concludes that Close method with a number of techniques and activities is effective to solve the reading comprehension problems faced by the children of disorder intellectually undemanding

The purpose of this study was to describe how can the design, implementation and learning outcomes in learning civics by using role playing.The research was conducted on half Odd.The research that the authors do is a classroom action research (PTK) using a qualitative and quantitative approach. The research was conducted based on observations in fifth grade of semester of Odd, SD Negeri No. 16 Sungai Putih kecamatan Bayang, when delivering materials still dominate Civics teachers teaching and students learning not active in other words, learning is still centered on the teacher. This resulted in low student learning outcomes and not as expected. To improve student learning achievement on the learning of Civics was held a classroom action research. Cycle I was held two meetings and cycle II was held one meeting with 4 stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. With the research subjects were fifth grade students of Elementary School No. 16 Sungai Putih Kecamatan Bayang. The results of data analysis showed that the use of Role Play method can improve learning outcomes of students in elementary school civics class. This can be seen from (1) Planning in cycle I 78, 57% and increased to 89,28% in cycle II, (2) Implementation from teacher aspect in cycle I 70,5% and increased to 90% in cycle II, then The students' aspect in cycle I 69% increased to 88% in cycle II, (3) Student learning outcomes in cycle I increased from 66 average value increased to 81,43 in cycle II. Thus Role Playing proved that the method can improve learning achievement of students in civics at fifth grade students’ in SD Negeri No. 16 Sungai Putih Kecamatan Bayang.

The objective of the research was to find out the application of group work method to improve students achievement in the material of the characters of multiplication at the fifth grade Inpres elementary school in Otobamba. It was a classroom action research (CAR).  The techniques to collect the data were observation, interview, documentation, and test. The subject of the research was 16 students. The finding showed that the learning achievement of students in every cycle was improved. In cycle I the average passed score was 31,25 % or 5 students and the average failed score was 68,75 % or 11 students. In cycle II, there were 16 who pass or 100%. In conclusion, mathematics teaching by using group work method can improve students achievement. Keywords: Group Work Method, Achievement, Mathematic Teaching

The objectives of the research were to find out whether snakes and ladders game can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and to describe the class atmosphere when the snakes and ladders game is implemented in the class. The research was carried out at elementary school in  Karangmojo. The approach used in this research was a classroom action research. It was conducted from May 2014 to June 2014. The subject of the research was the fifth grade of an elementary school in Karangmojo in the academic year of 2013/2014. The researcher collected the data using qualitative and quantitative method. The result of this research showed that the use of snakes and ladders game could improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and class atmosphere. The improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery included; the students could understand the meaning of word, pronounce the words correctly,  spell the vocabulary correctly , and  use the words in appropriate context of situation. The improvement of class atmosphere included; the students’ interest toward the material increased, they were active during the lesson, and could work in group and individually. The students’ mean scores improved which could be seen from their mean score of pre-test (59.2), post-test 1 in cycle 1 (69.1), and also post-test 2 in cycle 2 (77.6).

The purpose of this study is to improve the activities and learning outcomes of Bahasa Indonesia subject matter, and the topic isabout intrinsic and extrinsic elements of prose literature work. The method used is crossword puzzle method for grade V studentsof state elementary school no 165 Pekanbaru. This research is classroom action research (CAR) with guidance from classroomaction research Wardani and Kuswaya Wihardiet (2019). classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. To find outstudents' knowledge, a pre-cycle test is conducted. Then the planning for correction is carried out in cycle I and cycle II. Thesubject of the study was the fifth grade students of state elementary school no 165 Pekanbaru, with the number is 45 students.Data collection method is carried out based on documentation, observation, and tests. Data analysis techniques by analyzingdata through data collection, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This CAR is carried out in two cycles, each cyclearranges lesson plan, Procedures for implementing, evaluating, reflecting, learning outcomes of Bahasa Indonesian with a totalscore 3230 averaging 70.22; the first cycle is 3353 with an average of 48.89; and cycle II increased to 97.78. For studentscompleteness in pre-cycle is 26.67 cycle I increased to 48.85% and cycle II becomes 97.78%. It can be concluded that the use ofcrossword puzzle method can improve learning outcomes and learning activities of fifth grade students of state elementary schoolno 165 Pekanbaru.

AbstractThis paper critically aims to enhance English vocabularies among EFL young learners of the fifth grade students through picture-word inductive model at elementary school Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo in the academic year of 2019-2020. The research problem is How is the effective picture-word inductive model to enhance vocabulary among young learners of elemantary school Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo? The type of the research is classroom action research. It was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the research were 20 students of fifth grade. The data were collected from the test, interview, documentation and observation. The result showed that the students had increased their English vocabulary mastery which can be seen from the test result provided by the researcher. This is the evident from the test result that overall there was an increase in the English vocabulary mastery of 5 grade students as much as 50.70 % in the first cycle and 85.54 % in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the observation result showed that the students seemed more enthusiastic during the learning process.  In reference to the actions conducted in two cycles, the use of the picture-word inductive model enhances the students’ vocabulary by practicing words into sentences and more attention on mechanical aspects such as spelling and pronunciation. Keywords : Young Learners, Vocabulary Mastery, Picture-word inductive model.

This study was aimed at enhancing the ability of the thirty-six EFL students of the English Study Program at IAIN Jember in reading comprehension by exploiting the SQ4R method. To achieve the purpose, a collaborative classroom action research design was employed by following four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. This study was implemented in two cycles, in which both the first cycle and the second cycle were carried out in two meetings. This method consists of five stages; survey, question, read, reflect, recite, and review. The steps of surveying and questioning were implemented in pre-reading, the steps of reading and reflecting were implemented in whilst-reading, while the steps of recite and review were implemented in post-reading. Overall, the study has revealed that the SQ4R method enhanced students’ reading comprehension as well as students’ participation in the classroom. Keywords: SQ4R, reading comprehension, classroom action research

The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Limbanang Elementary School 05 through the application of role playing methods with Cooperative Learning models in learning the maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. The problem in this study was the low learning outcomes of students in this topic. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (classroom action research) conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Each cycle was held two meetings. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of Limbanang 05 Elementary School with 22 students which was consisting of 8 male students and 14 female students. In the first cycle of the first meeting of 22 students who took formative tests, there were still many students who were incomplete and meeting II there were 7 students (31.8%) that were not completed, this showed that the use of the experimental method had not been successful so reflection needed to be followed up. in cycle II. The implementation of learning in the second cycle of the teacher is more active in guiding and directing students in conducting experiments. Formative test results of cycle II meeting I were 22 students (100%) successfully completed. Based on the results of these studies it can be concluded that the use of experimental methods can improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Limbanang Elementary School 05, Suliki District in PKN subjects.

This study aims to improve the reading comprehension ability of grade III students at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air year 2016/2017 Through the Application of Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) Methods. The research conducted is classroom action research. The study was conducted at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air, Kumun Debai District, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. This study involved five third grade students. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four activities, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research data was collected through tests and processed using simple statistical tests. The results showed that the application of the SQ3R method can improve student learning activities. All students have been able to read reading material quickly and thoroughly, make questions based on the contents of the reading, write answers to questions that have been made, and dare to read the results in front of the class. In addition, students also have the courage to respond well to answering teacher questions and providing responses to the results of training from other students. The application of the SQ3R method can also improve student learning outcomes. The average value of students increased from 56.00 (pre-action) to 68.00 in Cycle I and 78.00 in Cycle II. In addition, student learning completeness also increased from 40.00% (pre-action) to 80.00% in Cycle I and 100.00% in Cycle II. Thus, the application of the SQ3R method can improve the reading comprehension ability of third grade students at SDN. No. 054/XI Muara Air year 2016/2017
