The article discusses the use of metaphors when covering armed conflicts in media. The ambiguous nature of the conflict and the subjectivity of perception of this phenomenon determine the specific usе of metaphor as an evaluative tool capable to change the addressee’s picture of the world. Metaphors are easily activated in the mind of a person, produce an automatic perception of a country's policy, which predetermines their high functionality for propaganda purposes. Ag- gressive rhetoric in political media discourse serves as a means of language manifestation of the goals of ideological suggestion and the creation of suggestive semantic effects. Ideological beliefs and values in the form of political metaphors are manifested and contribute to the implementation of the strategy of discredit in political discourse, influencing the addressee.

Education for democracy is of particular importance for a society undergoing democratization. The paper investigates a cognitive aspect of education for democracy, and identifies psychological predispositions for the acceptance of plurality of ideas as a central indicator of democratic thinking. The acceptance of plurality is defined as the ability of an individual to consider different arguments in controversial topics, to accept the existence of different ideas in a discussion as well as different explanations. This psychological phenomenon integrates certain cognitive affective and conative characteristics. The acceptance of plurality of ideas is a fundamental prerequisite for democratic communication, therefore a prerequisite for the creation of democratic climate in a society. The concept of cognitive style has been examined from the perspective of different research traditions in an attempt to identify a psychological profile of cognitive style, provisionally named pluralist profile, which would help an individual behave democratically. The paper also studies the connection between the manner of thinking, personality characteristics and cognitive style. It is the author?s conclusion that it is reasonable to assume that there are ways to encourage the development of pluralistic cognitive style by practicing the acceptance of different ideas through teaching process which would significantly improve the effectiveness of education for democracy.

In physical education lessons, teaching movements and functional load are not sufficiently consistent with the solution of educational problems. The upbringing of will and volitional qualities in the learning process in general education schools is considered a poorly studied aspect and is clearly underestimated. This indicates the relevance of the topic and indicates the need for research in this direction. This article presents research work on the formation and upbringing of will in schoolchildren, the creation of pedagogical conditions for scientific substantiation and experimental verification of the results, pedagogical tools, the methodology for the formation and upbringing of volitional qualities in schoolchildren in the process of a physical education lesson.

The substantiation of the relevance of scientific foundations and technical conditions for the creation and application of bioengineering systems to protect the territories of coastal and recreational zones from natural exogenous processes is made. For the scientific substantiation of the concept, theoretical and experimental research methods were used, existing and new proprietary technologies for the restoration of eroded and other disturbed land plots using biopositive products from local materials. The basic results of the research are the developed scientific and technical conditions for the creation and practical use of bioengineering systems for the restoration and protection of land in coastal, protected and recreational areas from natural exogenous processes. At the level of inventions and utility models, a number of new engineering solutions for the environmental direction have been obtained, which provide technological links for combining biopositive structures of protective regulatory structures into bioengineering systems for protecting land in coastal and recreational areas from various natural processes. The concept of creating bioengineering systems has been confirmed and scientifically justified.

This study aims to determine the offer and integration of Sufistic education on adolescent religious attitudes. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the type of library research. Researchers obtain data from various literature such as books, journals, scientific works, and other documents that examine research-related themes. The data obtained is then analyzed by first reducing the data, presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. The results found that Sufistic education can be reviewed and integrated into aspects of adolescent attitude formation (cognitive, affective, conative) by studying Shari'a education with the aim of Sufism in the cognitive aspect, through a psychological-humanist approach in the affective aspect, and through tafakkur activities to perfect the conative aspect. The creation of these three aspects must be supported by religious disciplines in their environments, such as character and role models from teachers and parents, instilling a sense of faith in adolescents, and a good religious environment.

This article is dedicated to the cognitive and epistemological peculiarities of the myth, which can be better understood relying on the principles and approaches of nonclassical science. The article discloses the key reasons for incomprehension of the myth by science, and explains the ways for its overcoming based on the broader sense of the myth. Within the framework of this paradigm, myth is viewed as a cultural universal, where mythmaking is a quality and function of consciousness. Such myth long ago has transcended the representations and formulas of classical mythology, and requires different attitude, considering the latest research (A. A. Gagaev, A. M. Lobok, V. M. Naydysh, and others). These studies indicate that modern (nonclassical) myth can be grasped only with consideration of latest discoveries in psychology, semiotics, and cognitive research, which prove that people have always been engaged in mythmaking, not just at the dawn of humanity. This means that on the agenda of scientific research of myth is the problem of existence of another nonclassical mythology and the creation of the universal theory of myth. All major elaborations of the leading theories of myth of the XX century are successfully synthesized within the universal theory of myth in accordance with the principle of mutual complementarity. This topic is increasingly relevant, and opens up new opportunities for science, fundamentally changing its perception of myth.

Abstract Tomasello offers a compelling account of the emergence of humans’ sense of obligation. We suggest that more needs to be said about the role of affect in the creation of obligations. We also argue that positive emotions such as gratitude evolved to encourage individuals to fulfill cooperative obligations without the negative quality that Tomasello proposes is inherent in obligations.

The purpose of this investigation was twofold: (a) to determine if there are changes in specific temporal characteristics of speech that occur during simultaneous communication, and (b) to determine if known temporal rules of spoken English are disrupted during simultaneous communication. Ten speakers uttered sentences consisting of a carrier phrase and experimental CVC words under conditions of: (a) speech, (b) speech combined with signed English, and (c) speech combined with signed English for every word except the CVC word that was fingerspelled. The temporal features investigated included: (a) sentence duration, (b) experimental CVC word duration, (c) vowel duration in experimental CVC words, (d) pause duration before and after experimental CVC words, and (e) consonantal effects on vowel duration. Results indicated that for all durational measures, the speech/sign/fingerspelling condition was longest, followed by the speech/sign condition, with the speech condition being shortest. It was also found that for all three speaking conditions, vowels were longer in duration when preceding voiced consonants than vowels preceding their voiceless cognates, and that a low vowel was longer in duration than a high vowel. These findings indicate that speakers consistently reduced their rate of speech when using simultaneous communication, but did not violate these specific temporal rules of English important for consonant and vowel perception.
