COGNITIVE RESEARCH OF MILITARY METAPHOR IN POLITICAL COMMUNICATIO

The article discusses the use of metaphors when covering armed conflicts in media. The ambiguous nature of the conflict and the subjectivity of perception of this phenomenon determine the specific usе of metaphor as an evaluative tool capable to change the addressee’s picture of the world. Metaphors are easily activated in the mind of a person, produce an automatic perception of a country's policy, which predetermines their high functionality for propaganda purposes. Ag- gressive rhetoric in political media discourse serves as a means of language manifestation of the goals of ideological suggestion and the creation of suggestive semantic effects. Ideological beliefs and values in the form of political metaphors are manifested and contribute to the implementation of the strategy of discredit in political discourse, influencing the addressee.

This paper introduces a new approach to understanding the mind of the customer with the goal of optimizing the supply chain by creating, marketing and then delivering what the customer(s) want. The underlying notion is that for every product one can discover groups of people with defined preferences for the product and defined messages which drive expected purchase. The approach divides into two parts, knowledge development through Mind Genomics experiments and mind-set sequencing through the PVI (Personal Viewpoint Identifier). The paper shows data for six flavored beverages, the creation of mind-sets and the creation of the PVI to drive the messaging and thus purchase of each product. The paper finishes with the prospects for the world of product design and marketing when one can rapidly discover these product-specific mind-sets and the messages which excite each mind-set.

The article represents the description of ideal cognitive model of LIGHT/DARK archetypical binary opposition, metaphorically represented in the modern American political media discourse. Classific cognitive features and frames, constituting the mental spaces of the dichotomy under consideration are identified and described. The modelling of LIGHT/DARK binary pposition cognitive structure is represented by 3 stages. They are as follows: 1. the cognitive features identifed in the process of archetypical concepts' macrostructures description are referred to archetypical senses forming their mental spaces;2. the categorical structures of arcgetypical concepts are identified as frames or specific cognitive features, makong concepts' cognitive structure more detaoled;3.the character of archetypicak concepts' field organisation is determined by means of identyfying the core, the nearest and the farthest periphery of archetypical binary opposition cognitive structure.The methodology of the research is based on the cognitive-discursive paradigm, cognitive analysis of image making ways of archetypical senses ontologization in the political discourse.The novelty of research consists in representation of the ideal cognitive model of archetypical binary opposition LOGHT/DARK in the political discourse, the main characterisitic of which is conceptual assymetry, predetermining the charachter of interconnections between the components of binary opposition on the cognitive, verbal and discourse levels.

AbstractThe precedent phenomenon is estimated as a productive source for creating the language game in the headlines of political media discourse. Headlines based on a language game draw the attention of the reader more quickly. There are often used precedent phenomena, understood as culturally loaded signs, known to a major part of the representatives of the same national community. That is a precedent phenomenon that may serve multiple purposes. We have focused on its effect applied in the headings. The coincidence of the background knowledge of the author and the reader contributes to the hidden influence on the images of politicians formed in the mind of the reader.

The article shows that the basis of the achievements of the Modern Times art is the formation of the idea of the world in the mind of the artist. The attractor, the assemblage point of the phenomenon is the completeness of the experience of the multidimensional composition of being. The phenomenon of the image of the world is formed in voluntary acts of self-awareness throughout the artist’s life. In the creative process, the development of an ideal artistic image and the creation of a material form of its embodiment occur in relation to the phenomenon of the image of the world.

<p>The Corona crisis has led to internal conflict and the creation of enormous societal chasms in many countries of the world that would have been unthinkable a year ago. This divide is in large part being created, reproduced and deepened through ongoing antagonistic discursive practices. This article aims at outlining the theoretical groundwork for the analysis and description of the resulting discursive camps and the facilitating processes. It endeavors to bridge the theoretical gap between traditional political discourse theory and linguistic communication analysis and show promising methodological pathways for forensic analysis of multimodal resources and their communicative use in the current Corona associated discourses.</p><p> </p>

The pauline christological soteriology is what leads us to understand who is man, individual and human gender, in Paul’s mind, and, therefore, in the mind of God, Creator, who since before the creation of the world desired to maintain with him the human gender.

The analysis of cultural context in media texts can contribute to understanding how national images are constructed in the international media discourse. The image of a country is better understood by the audience of another country when it is introduced through familiar cultural concepts and well-known experiences so that specific, culture-bound elements of the other culture are brought closer to the target audience.The research provides linguo-cultural analysis of Russia’s portrayal in political media discourse in English-speaking countries drawing on the approach to political discourse as the process of production and interpretation of a text in meaningful political, social and cultural context.The study is aimed at exploring British and U.S.A. mass media to reveal typical features of the English-language political discourse concerning Russia and to find out how Russia’s image is constructed. In the course of the study we examined culture-bound lexicon in texts of various genres of political discourse in mass media focusing on Russia. Further, the use of Russian culture-bound items without translation in British and American mass media was analyzed, and such items were classified into categories according to their contextual functions.The results indicate that Russia is deeply integrated into the cultural context of the English-speaking audience; it can be said that Russia’s image in the Anglophone political media discourse is outlined with the aid of various cultural-bound associative, connotative and metaphorical links which are familiar for native readers and serve them as a bridge facilitating their understanding and interpretation of Russian culture.

The article reconstructs the integral philosophical doctrine in the heritage of Saint John of Kronstadt, which includes the doctrine of being, knowledge, man, nature and history (i.e. ontology, epistemology, anthropology, natural philosophy and historiosophy). It is shown that this doctrine is based on the hermeneutics of biblical texts and patristic tradition, and the method of this philosophy is spiritual reflection based on the acquisition of the Holy spirit and the transformation of the mind. The ontology in this philosophy is revealed through the Revelation of the creation of the world, and anthropology- the creation of man, and therefore they have the character of sacred history. Philosophy of nature has the character of the Revelations about Tri-hypostatic God showing His properties in the creation. Tri-hypostasis of the Creator defines the ontology of the human being, carrying His Image. The revelation of the End of the world sets the semantic structure of the historical process and is the paradigm for understanding any specific events.
