The status process and the multiplicity occur in the economic environment in the Republic of Iraq within the organization of work for companies and change towards the best new types of special operations through accounting and administrative methods to reduce costs. The paper opted the decision on the use of outsourcing and defined comprehensive evaluation criteria for the effectiveness of outsourcing - the outsourcing factor (Fout), which takes into average values obtained for the estimates of relative parameters to be interpreted on the Harrington scale translated into a ten-point system. The authors rely data analyses of business processes based on a sample from one of the industrial companies operating in the Republic of Iraq, which is the State Company For Implementation (SCI), in the Republic of Iraq, in the demonstrated the need to transfer it to full outsourcing & partial outsourcing and actually execution. This has a positive impact on the company's main financial and economic indicators and increase their competitiveness in the market, which has been the focus of many research studies. The study itself brings a unique method in theory and practice, which can be used by other companies, to deduce the implications of business organization to decision makers who are seeking for the best types of new special operations, which contributes to raising its competitiveness in the market.

Abstract A long standing presence of process orientation in economic theory and practice reflects its use for achieving the goals of the company and its stakeholders. However, this does not mean that there is no space for improvement in this area. On the contrary, the context in which companies do business is changing significantly, even on a daily basis, and therefore it is necessary to look for new ways for process improvement in order to meet not only current, but also future needs of the consumers. The main aims of the study are to define concepts related to business processes and business process management, and to research the application of methods and techniques of a continuous improvement of processes and management systems in general. The aim is also to research the application of methods and techniques for quality process improvement in milk production companies in the Republic of Serbia, with the starting hypothesis that quality process improvement directly influences the competitive position of the company. Relevant literature has been used for the theoretical part of the study dealing with process management and quality management, while a structural questionnaire on which the whole research is based has been used for the empirical part of the study. Based on the data analysis it can be concluded that in the milk production companies in the Republic of Serbia there is a dominant use of the method based on the PDCA cycle for business quality improvement

Purpose Well-founded measurements are of high value because a better connection between business process management (BPM) and maturity models (MMs) improves an organization’s performance. Although MMs are appropriate tools for organizations to manage their business processes and, therefore, enjoy popularity, most of these models suffer from their foundation, validation and/or capability coverage. The purpose of this paper is to address this issue by providing metrics to measure and manage business processes. Design/methodology/approach A high-standard and multistaged procedure was followed to systematically develop and validate the measurement instrument involving international academics and practitioners across four continents. Different rounds were used for item identification, item selection, item revision, instrument preparation (pretest and pilot) and instrument application using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings The instrument measures 4 main capability areas, 13 subareas and 62 items. The work explains how to conduct BPM assessments in a more theoretically sound way and reports on the instrument’s development to show high levels of construct validity, content validity and reliability. Research limitations/implications The author provides a rigorous and more evidence-based instrument, facilitating the BPM discipline’s need of empirical research. Practical implications The author proposes parameters to configure the instrument. Originality/value Serving as a reference framework, the instrument strengthens BPM’s empirical and theoretical foundations. Since the instrument is free for scholars and practitioners, the author illustrates the research streams and business situations in which the instrument can be applied (in full or in part). This paper paves the way for transforming the instrument into an optimization MM with advice or improvement paths, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

New technologies, notably service-oriented architectures and Web services, are enabling a third wave of business process management (BPM). Supporters claim that BPM is informed by complexity theory and that business processes can evolve and adapt to changing business circumstances. It is suggested by BPM adherents that the business/IT divide will be obliterated through a process-centric approach to systems development. The evolution of BPM and its associated technologies are explored and then coevolutionary theory is used to understand the business/IT relationship. Specifically, Kauffman's NKC model is applied to a business process ecosystem to bring out the implications of coevolution for the theory and practice of BPM and for the relationship between business and IT. The paper argues that a wider view of the business process ecosystem is needed to take account of the social perspective as well as the human/non-human dimension.

Purpose In several studies, it has been found that organizational performance is affected by ambidextrous IT capabilities. Nevertheless, business processes are essential to the value generation conversion of IT investment into performance. In the literature, this focus on the impact of IT capabilities at the business process level is still under investigated. So, the purpose of this paper is to test the effects of explorative and exploitative business process IT capabilities on business process performances (BPP) and the positive moderator role of business process management (BPM) capabilities. Design/methodology/approach This analysis has been done through a quantitative study in the Italian hotel industry. An OLS regression analysis has been carried out on a sample of 404 firms. Findings The study identifies distinct effects related to exploration and exploitation and finds a moderating effect of BPM capabilities, explaining their positive impact on BPP. Originality/value The main purpose of the paper is to contribute to the area of business process management by demonstrating the importance of both explorative and exploitative IT capabilities for a business process as well as the managerial capabilities at the process level. Furthermore, this focus at the process level allows us to add original insights into research on ambidexterity by expanding existing works.

Startup is a new business segment that has been growing up in the last years. These companies have an innovative spirit and are usually searching for new solutions to real problems that can be transformed into scalable businesses. The majority of these companies are not aware of their processes and how the company need to be organized. For this kind of companies, we propose Process Thinking, an innovative approach that makes the business process management viable in the daily lives of startups. This paper presents the Process Thinking framework, which prescribes 10 main processes that a startup needs and a utility belt to help the startup to organize their processes. We illustrate this proposal through an exploratory case study with a real IT startup company that used a 5-step methodology in an immediate implementation of proposed processes and artifacts. The results indicate a positive impact in the short and medium term strategies and management of the startup. However, these results cannot be generalized to other startups and should be received with caution, since this is an initial exploratory study limited to a single company.

Abstract BackgroundEngagement and participation are vital for including experiences, opinions, or expertise regarding the need for action and specifying goals of relevant stakeholders. In recent years, engagement processes have significantly gained in prominence especially in the field of healthcare; and participation has been actively demanded by public health agencies as well as by health research funding organizations. Despite numerous international work and wide agreement on the benefits of stakeholder engagement, there is still limited published empirical evidence on methodological best practices for stakeholder approaches and even less on evaluation or outcomes in the process of developing policy.MethodsOn the basis of previous research on stakeholder discourses and with the German case study at hand, I inferred normative criteria for the evaluation of discourse processes. For the methodological examination, my manuscript presents a comprehensive framework of normative criteria relevant to stakeholder engagement planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting, and to illustrate different evaluation and reporting needs for research on stakeholder engagement, namely, depth of participation, legitimate selection of stakeholders, representativeness, process management, output, role definition, and transparency. ResultsThe developed normative evaluation criteria make the evaluation of an engagement process with a large amount of material possible. My analysis indicates the key facilitating elements and also barriers of this participatory approach, demonstrating the importance of especially deploying the following evaluation criteria: output, representativeness, process management, and transparency.ConclusionThe seven developed evaluation criteria have been effective for the evaluation of the stakeholder discourse on dementia prediction. These evaluation criteria may also be conducive to the evaluation of engagement processes on other health research topics with a large corpus of material. To date and to my knowledge, a comprehensive evaluation framework for engagement processes with experts in the field of assessing biomedical issues is missing in the literature and my work aims at bridging this gap.

The XYZ City Trade Office is a government organization that is engaged in regulating the stability of staple food through trade activities in XYZ City. This study aims to identify the existing business processes at the XYZ City Trade Office, in addition to being identified, this study will also conduct an analysis and improvement and redesign of the business processes currently being implemented by the XYZ City Trade Office. The steps taken to identify business processes are by conducting interviews related to the duties and functions of each entity and the Office to stakeholders in the XYZ City Trade Office. The methodology used to identify, describe, analyze and redesign business processes is the Business Process Life Cycle (BPM Lifecycle). The identification results are 36 business processes, and 3 of them are export business processes, import business processes, and processes Business Can Send and Evaluate. In all three business processes further evaluation and analysis are carried out. The analysis and evaluation is to first describe the business process in the form of business process modeling notation (BPMN) using bizagi modeller, then measure the quality of business processes, and analyze weaknesses, and compare with the duties and functions of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, so that improvements to the process for the third the business process. Improvements for the Export and Import business processes are by adding oversight processes at the shipping stage, and business process improvements Conducting Shipment and Evaluation is by removing the activities of Giving Delivery News.   Keywords: Business Process, BPMN, BPM Lifecycle, Bizagi Modeller

AbstractA current research problem in the area of business process management deals with the specification and checking of constraints on resources (e.g., users, agents, autonomous systems, etc.) allowed to be committed for the execution of specific tasks. Indeed, in many real-world situations, role assignments are not enough to assign tasks to the suitable resources. It could be the case that further requirements need to be specified and satisfied. As an example, one would like to avoid that employees that are relatives are assigned to a set of critical tasks in the same process in order to prevent fraud. The formal specification of a business process and its related access control constraints is obtained through a decoration of a classic business process with roles, users, and constraints on their commitment. As a result, such a process specifies a set of tasks that need to be executed by authorized users with respect to some partial order in a way that all authorization constraints are satisfied. Controllability refers in this case to the capability of executing the process satisfying all these constraints, even when some process components, e.g., gateway conditions, can only be observed, but not decided, by the process engine responsible of the execution. In this paper, we propose conditional constraint networks with decisions (CCNDs) as a model to encode business processes that involve access control and conditional branches that may be both controllable and uncontrollable. We define weak, strong, and dynamic controllability of CCNDs as two-player games, classify their computational complexity, and discuss strategy synthesis algorithms. We provide an encoding from the business processes we consider here into CCNDs to exploit off-the-shelf their strategy synthesis algorithms. We introduce $$\textsc {Zeta}$$ Z E T A , a tool for checking controllability of CCNDs, synthesizing execution strategies, and executing controllable CCNDs, by also supporting user interactivity. We use $$\textsc {Zeta}$$ Z E T A to compare with the previous research, provide a new experimental evaluation for CCNDs, and discuss limitations.
