The objective of this paper is to explore the linkage between corporate financial conditions and the market valuation of the famed US chemical industry firms by the case study using financial ratio and market data. More concretely, we first conduct corporate financial ratio analyses including the Du Pont system analysis as to four well-known large chemical industry firms in the US. Our analyzing period is from the fiscal year of 1979 to 2012. After the financial ratio analyses for the above period, we further examine the relations between corporate financial conditions and the market valuation of the four US firms by using their stock price data after the end of the fiscal year of 2012. As a result, the corporate financial conditions of the four firms at the end of the fiscal year of 2012 appear to be adequately reflected in the subsequent stock prices in equity markets.

The first Covid-19 case in Indonesia was announced on March 2, 2020. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant difference in stock prices, stock transaction volume and stock returns due to the COVID-19 pandemic (case study at PT. Agung Podomoro Land, Tbk). This research data was taken 90 days before and 90 days after the announcement of the first case of COVID-19 in Indonesia. The data was processed by paired sample t-test, using SPSS version 20. From the results of data processing, it was shown that there was a significant difference in stock prices before and after the announcement of the first case of covid-19 in Indonesia. This is indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 where the stock price has decreased compared to before the Covid-19 case. Meanwhile, the volume of stock transactions also showed a significant difference with a significance value of 0.007 <0.05, where the volume of stock transactions after the announcement showed a decrease. Likewise, stock returns show a significant difference with a significance value of 0.025 < 0.05 where stock returns have decreased after the announcement of the first case of covid-10 in Indonesia.

Purpose What explains patterns in stock prices is an important question. One such pattern, price momentum, is a well-known capital markets anomaly where recent stock price performance appears to continue into the future. This momentum is frequently thought to reflect delayed reaction by investors to unspecified information (i.e. underreaction). This study aims to provide a useful insight regarding momentum: potential mispricing related to accounting fundamentals appears to conceal longer-term reversals in price momentum. Controlling for these fundamentals reveals that price momentum reverses, indicating that investor overreaction is a potentially important source of stock price momentum. The evidence presented in this study emphasizes the importance of decoupling momentum and accounting fundamentals to achieve a more complete understanding of what explains stock price momentum. Design/methodology/approach This study explores this question by examining the longer-term performance of momentum stocks in the US market after decoupling it from performance related to accounting fundamentals using returns to fundamentals-based factors as controls in time series regressions. Findings This study finds evidence of clear reversals in the remaining price momentum. These reversals provide a new insight into the momentum effect because they imply that the component of price momentum not traceable to accounting fundamentals reflects investor overreaction rather than underreaction. Originality/value The findings indicate that the underlying nature of the information driving price movements is important to achieving a complete understanding of what explains price momentum. To the best of the author’s knowledge, no other study has examined the behavior of stock price momentum while controlling for accounting fundamentals.

Abstract: The sharia capital market in Indonesia has grown over the last five years. One of the members of the sharia capital market instrument is sharia shares. During the 2015-2020 period, the number of Islamic stock issuers continued to grow. The stock index is used by investors as a tool to choose stocks that suit their needs. IDX has issued three sharia stock indexes, and the most recent one is the JII70 index. A stock index is a collection of statistics about the price movement of a group of stocks that is evaluated periodically. One of the many factors that influence stock prices is the company's financial ratios. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial ratio factors such as Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), Return on Equity (ROE) and Earning per Share (EPS) on the stock price of JII70 indexed companies. The data used is secondary data in the form of JII70 indexed company financial statements in the 2018-2020 period. The method of determining the sample using purposive sampling. This research uses panel data regression analysis method. The results of this study show a significant effect of the DER and EPS variables on stock prices, while the CR, TATO and ROE variables do not significantly affect stock prices. Keywords: Share Price, JII70, Financial Ratio, Panel Data Regression, Sharia Shares

Share prices occur according to market supply and demand. Demand for shares is influenced by investors' expectations of the issuing company. The better the financial performance of a company, the higher investor expectations will be. This results in the shares becoming increasingly attractive and the share price will be higher. Conversely, if a company's financial performance is not good, investors' expectations will be low, so investors are not interested in investing in these shares. This causes the stock price to fall. The company's financial performance can be done by analyzing financial reports. This study aims to determine the effect of financial performance ratios on stock prices. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing is done by partial test (T-test) and simultaneous test (F-test) and standardized coefficient test. Based on the research results that simultaneously the financial ratio variable does not have a significant effect on stock prices. Meanwhile, only partially the NPM variable affects stock prices. Meanwhile, the financial performance variables (CAR, ROA, and LDR) do not affect stock prices. For the adjusted R2 value of 99.80%, it means that this value means that the variation of the independent variable which can explain the dependent variable is 99.80% and the remaining 2% is the variation of other variables that are not explained in the model.

Bankcruptcy is a very important problem, in which every company should be aware of. It is very important to detect the signs of the coming bankruptcy of the company as soon as possible in order to take effective action to avoid it. One popular model to do so is Z-score, a statistical model to predict bankruptcy based on company financial performance. This paper deals with the analysis of the financial performance of property companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. However, in previous research it was found that there is no strong correlation between the companies financial performance with their stock prices, thus encouraging further research. In this research, the analysis focused on the influence of the financial ratio-ratio (X1) Ratio net working capital / total assets, (X2) Ratio of retained earnings / total assets, (X3) Ratio of earnings before interest and taxes / total assets, (X4) Ratio of market value equity / book value of total debt, and (X5) Total sales / Total assets) to the stock price. Using the data set on daily stock prices during the fiscal year 2015/16 (Sept 23, 2015 through Dec 22, 2015), this paper attempts to analyze the random behavior of stock price of Nepalese Commercial Banks by using run test, serial correlation and run tests and martingale random walk hypothesis under heteroscedasticity assumption of standard error. The results conclude that the proposition of Random Walk Hypothesis (RWH) in Nepalese stock markets does not hold true. This conclusion corroborates with the conclusions of the past studies carried out in Nepalese context.

Analysis of Return on Equity Against Stock Prices at PT. Bekasi Asri Pemula, Tbk. This study aims to find out how Return on Equity (ROE) on Stock Prices. The object of this research is PT. Bekasi Asri Pemula, Tbk for the period 2014 - 2017. This study used a qualitative method consisting of two variables, namely Return On Equity (ROE) as an independent variable and stock price as the dependent variable. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis, correlation analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, and t test. The results of testing the research show that return on equity has a significant influence on stock prices. This result can be seen in the correlation analysis (r) of 0.82 which means that the relationship is very strong. The results of the coefficient of determination analysis show that return on equity has an influence on stock prices of 67.24% and 32.76% influenced by other factors not examined. The constant value of this regression equation is positive. This shows that the dependent variable Y will increase constantly if the variable X is zero. While the value of 15.752.67 shows that if the variable X (Return On Equity) is ignored then the stock price will be worth a 15.752.67 from b of 653,812.04 indicating that each increase in the variable Return on Equity (ROE) of 1 unit will be followed by a share price increase of 2, 40935758%. Whereas partially t test because t count <t table is 2.03 <4.30 then Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected meaning there is no effect due to the fluctuating financial conditions.
