This paper outlines a triangulation approach to constructing theory that was employed in a case study research project. Analysis of evidence is one of the least developed and most difficult aspects of conducting case studies. This tends to be seen as a drawback by critics of the case study method. To overcome this obstacle, we bring in methods such as data saturation and analysis triangulation to strengthen our ability to interpret the findings. Meanwhile, the structure is systematically and logically presented with the assistance of analysis software.

In today’s educational landscape educators and administrators are confronted with unprecedented challenges as they have to hastily move education online. Emergency remote teaching is a response to this crisis. However, the research about the efficacy of remote teaching is scarce because of COVID-19 which is a rapidly evolving situation and also because of a lack of clarity about what constitutes instruction during an emergency. Moreover, the actual practices for emergency remote teaching are unclear in the context of Kuwait. This study aims to investigate how educators are implementing emergency remote instruction in order to reshape education during the COVID-19 pandemic in Kuwait where traditional instructional approaches and practices are dominant. Using a case study research design, the researchers delve into educators’ perspectives by collecting qualitative data from interviews. The results indicate that educators used multiple pedagogical approaches to enhance student participation and learning. It also revealed the problematic aspects of remote or distance education. Finally, the results were used to construct and present a Novel Remote Learning Framework, which is an empirically- grounded, theoretically-informed conceptualization of emergency remote instruction which is expected to reshape instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Using a case study, researchers examined how preservice school counselors experienced course content and activities related to students with disabilities. Course content, activities, and pedagogical strategies were based on recommendations from counselor education scholars and Bandura’s model of self-efficacy. Aligned with case study research (Yin), researchers gathered and triangulated both quantitative and qualitative data, which revealed that participants reported an overarching positive experience, gaining knowledge and confidence and appreciating practical experiences regarding course content and activities specific to students with disabilities.

Gagnon's (2011) text is the most recent contribution to the growing corpus of knowledge on case study research. As a whole, the text contains all of the typical parts one would expect in an introductory text on case study research. The text begins with a brief discussion of paradigms and epistemologies and then gives way to issues of reliability and validity. Next, the reader is taken through a "step-by-step" approach to case study research with chapters on data collection, analysis, interpretation and writing reports. Drawing upon his own experiences using case study method, Gagnon identifies enduring concerns and provides several practical tips for the novice researcher. However, the text could be improved by a clear definition of case study and a lucid explanation of the relationship between methodologies and methods.

Kata kunci: arsitektur perilaku, kontemporer, studi kasus; studi perilaku, Yin ABSTRACTCase studies are empirical studies that investigate contemporary phenomena in real life contexts. Initially the case study research method was often used in the social science field. But along with the development of science, case study methods began to be used in other fields. The case study research method is the right strategy to use in research that uses the main research questions of “how” or “why”, it takes a little time to control the events being studied, and the focus of research is contemporary phenomena. In the case study method, researchers focus on the design and implementation of research. The purpose of this paper is to examine the case study research method formulated by Robert K. Yin and then look at its application in research in architecture and behavior. In research in architecture and behavior, the Yin case study method can be applied even though partially and can be combined with other methods. Qualitative research with observed cases include single or multi-case cases whose observations focus on human behavior and environmental settings. Keywords: behavioral architecture, contemporary, case study, behavioral studies, Yin

This paper aims to clarify the meaning, and explain the utility, of the case study method, a method often practiced but little understood. A “case study,” I argue, is best defined as an intensive study of a single unit with an aim to generalize across a larger set of units. Case studies rely on the same sort of covariational evidence utilized in non-case study research. Thus, the case study method is correctly understood as a particular way of defining cases, not a way of analyzing cases or a way of modeling causal relations. I show that this understanding of the subject illuminates some of the persistent ambiguities of case study work, ambiguities that are, to some extent, intrinsic to the enterprise. The travails of the case study within the discipline of political science are also rooted in an insufficient appreciation of the methodologicaltradeoffsthat this method calls forth. This paper presents the familiar contrast between case study and non-case study work as a series of characteristic strengths and weaknesses—affinities—rather than as antagonistic approaches to the empirical world. In the end, the perceived hostility between case study and non-case study research is largely unjustified and, perhaps, deserves to be regarded as a misconception. Indeed, the strongest conclusion to arise from this methodological examination concerns the complementarity of single-unit and cross-unit research designs.
