The south of Algeria has a very hard climate. In summer, it is very hot and dry with a very violent sand wind and in winter very cold and dry, from where several plants cannot be cultivated in an open field. With rapid population growth, the production of fruits and vegetables cannot be sufficient. To solve these two major problems, we propose in this paper a new mechanism for the control of the climate inside a greenhouse. The objective of this work is to propose a new design for the greenhouse that can be managed and controlled automatically. The management and the control of this greenhouse are done because of our new proposed algorithms, and the use of new technologies such as sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and the Internet of things to facilitate the tasks of farmers in the south of Algeria, and to improve the productiveness of the agriculture. We present the results of applying our proposal in a greenhouse during a short period of time and the changes on the environmental parameters inside the greenhouse.

This paper is dedicated to the analysis of the phenomenon of virtual narrative and its connection to the phenomenon of Internet of things. Modern virtual narrative is a complex, syncretic phenomenon, alludes to the different cultural, historical and even mythological subjects and objects. But with the development of new technologies, such as the Internet of Things, virtual narrative became to be some kind of independent phenomenon. Moreover, the Internet of things (which is not clerly identified phenomen itself from the philosophic point of view) uses the virtual narrative as one of the components, for example applaying some methond of virtual narrative in creating advertisments, creating messages in musiams, exposititions etc. So, in our paper we will analyze this both phenomena, their connections and the way of its development.

There are various emerging areas in which profoundly constrained interconnected devices connect to accomplish specific tasks. Nowadays, internet of things (IoT) enables many low-resource and constrained devices to communicate, do computations, and make smarter decisions within a short period. However, there are many challenges and issues in such devices like power consumption, limited battery, memory space, performance, cost, and security. This chapter presents the security issues in such a constrained environment, where the traditional cryptographic algorithms cannot be used and, thus, discusses various lightweight cryptographic algorithms in detail and present a comparison between these algorithms. Further, the chapter also discusses the power awakening scheme and reference architecture in IoT for constrained device environment with a focus on research challenges, issues, and their solutions.

These new technologies have generated creative ways of offering goods and services. Today's consumers demand in addition to quality, innovation, a real-time and ubiquitous service. In this context, what is the challenge that academy faces? What is the effect of these new technologies on the universities mission? What are people's expectations about academy in this new era? This chapter tries to get answers to these questions and explain how these emerging technologies are converting universities to lead society transformation to the digital age. Under this new paradigm, there are only two roads: innovate or perish. As might be expected universities are embracing these technologies for innovating themselves.

Nowadays, due to the pandemic and other problems, the establishment of physical classes is a big headache for both students and teachers, due to which the education system all over the world is shifted to the online system from the physical system. Advance technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) are playing a significant part in various sectors of life such as health, business, and education. In order to effectively improve the effect of online English teaching, this study designed an interactive online English teaching system based on the IoT technology. This study proposes three topological structures for the establishment of the proposed IoT-based online English teaching system. Based on the analysis of the three topological structures of the IoT, this study chooses to design each submodule of the front and back of the system in the network IoT environment to realize the daily operation and various functions of the system and to realize the interactive design of both of the teacher and student side. Based on this approach, an online English teaching system is designed, and the teaching quality based on this system is evaluated with the help of an algorithm known as grey relational analysis algorithm. The experimental results show that, after the application of this system, students have access to the teaching materials and content in a short period of time; and the English test scores were improved and were significantly higher as compared to the traditional teaching system. In addition, at the same time, the internal consistency reliability of the proposed system is very high which fully demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed system.

Abstract Information technology has massively transformed the world of business over the past fifty years - first individual functional areas within companies (“first wave”), later increasingly also cross-divisional value-added processes and trade (“second wave”). Those companies that recognized the tremendous economic potential of these upheavals and consistently adapted, profited enormously - many others, however, fell dramatically. At the same time, innovative startups emerged that successfully created and occupied new markets. With the Internet of Things (IoT), the third digital wave is currently rolling up. Their impact will be enormous - both for our everyday lives and for many industries that have so far been largely spared the disruptive power of digital transformation. Accordingly, the challenges facing most companies today are: understanding more complex competition, acquiring new digital technologies, making existing offerings smart, developing new services, networking production, efficiently analyzing vast amounts of data, and building viable organizations to push all this forward. The IoT is a driver for digitization. By analyzing machine data, the use of sensors and the intelligent real-time processing of huge amounts of data in the cloud, new business models are created. With the information gained, companies are able to improve their value chain. However, one of the most difficult issues in this context for many companies is how they can further develop their existing business model or establish successful new business models that will be based on new technologies and IoT. To investigate resulting impacts, we draw on the existing business models and deduct specifics for the Internet of Things. Building on this, in order to reach the aims of the paper the authors will use a descriptive research method and a case study in order to present how new business models work with the IoT.

Research subject. Adaptive systems in the concept of the Internet of things. Objective. To analyze and present the capabilities of adaptive systems in relation to the eco-system of the Internet of things. Method. In addition to the scientific approach, graph (network) and algebraic methods are used in the work, as well as methods of complex analysis. Core results. The use of adaptive systems will make it possible to predict the values of environmental parameters and perform a series of actions without user intervention. As a result of this adjustment, the system becomes adaptive, learning and adapting to changes in the environment, or to the modes of the commands given. Practical relevance. The article presents an analysis of systems and provides examples of the use of adaptive systems.

The Internet of Things (IoT), a metaphor for smart, functional Cyberphysical Environments (CPE), is finding some usefulness in various sectors including healthcare, security, transportation, and the Smart Home (SH). Within the IoT, objects potentially operate autonomously to provide specified services and complete assigned tasks. However, the introduction of new technologies and/or the novel application of existing ones usually herald the discovery of unfamiliar security vulnerabilities, which lead to exploits and sometimes to security breaches. There is existing research that identifies IoT-related security concerns and breaches. This chapter discusses existing Digital Forensics (DF) models and methodologies for their applicability (or not) within the IoT domain using the SH as a case in point. The chapter also makes the argument for smart forensics, the use of a smart autonomous system (tagged the Forensics Edge Management System [FEMS]) to provide forensic services within the self-managed CPE of the SH.

IOT connected objects are new technologies used to connect objects to the internet and to users. The IOT influences our daily life in several fields such as logistics, health, energy, intelligent vehicles, the smart home or the smart city ... Subsequently, following the specific characteristics of the different areas of use, a multitude IOT applications have been developed and deployed using different IOT frameworks. An IOT framework is a set of rules, protocols and standards that simplify the implementation of IOT applications. The proper functioning and success of these applications depends on the characteristics of the framework, and also on the security mechanisms used. In this article, we will discuss the frameworks used by presenting the proposed architecture of each framework, the compatible hardwares and softwares and the security mechanisms used, then a comparative study of these frameworks will be presented. Finally, we will propose an architecture of a secure IOT framework.

Dramatical changes in society’s infrastructure require new conceptual approaches towards the research of socioeconomic phenomena. Nowadays, environment surrounding people experience qualitative changes; it has become possible to use full information on the history of objects. It is essential to develop a conceptual framework enabling to thoroughly describe the interaction of an individual and a socioeconomic environment that is changed by digital technologies. In this article, it is suggested to use the concept of socioeconomic technology in the context of exploration of digitalization processes. These include the Internet of things, big data processing, widespread implementation of personal tools to process and share information etc. The concept of socioeconomic technology allows tying up new technologies with the needs of an individual and society as well as with phenomena emerging in socioeconomic infrastructure. The suggested approach may be used at the development and implementation of the Internet of things, of global communication infrastructure, of technologies for processing and storage of data, and for the research of other aspects of society’s digitalization. Today it is possible to research different directions for the development of consumption sphere and technologies taking into account the emergence of virtual properties of objects. Virtual properties result for example in multiple ways to implement things, in the possibility to store and use the full history of major objects surrounding an individual. Conceptual framework suggested in this article allows holistically addressing the issues of commercial efficiency and socioeconomic management in the age of digitalization.

In concluding the book, Chapter 25 argues that cooperation is becoming the preferred strategy for business and public organizations to adopt in the new economy. It is taking on new forms that are adapted to changing market expectations and new technological possibilities in the rapidly evolving business environment. New technologies such as ICT and blockchain are reducing the potential for and value of partner opportunism, making cooperation more efficient and less costly while enabling managers to pinpoint potential partners for ever more focused purposes. Cooperative strategy offers a viable solution for pooling together the required resources to seize the opportunities offered by Industry 4.0, which is driven by AI, the Internet of Things, and Big Data. Looking ahead, the personalization of technologies envisaged in Industry 5.0 will require an increasing number of collaborations between organizations from different sectors, both firms and social/public bodies.
