The economic condition of East Java has been good lately by consistently having economic growth above the national economic growth and consistently contributing above 14% of Indonesia’s GDP from 2011 to 2016. However, lately East Java’s economy has slowed down due to the slowing down of its main industry sector, which is the manucfacturing sector. Looking by the growth trend that continues to increase, the tourism sector is considered to be a promising sector as an alternative source of economic growth in East Java. Other than that, to consider tourism sector as an alternative source of growth, we must see the linkage of the tourism sector to other industry sectors. This will be proven by using the Input-Output Analysis and the tourism sector is proven to have a wide linkage to other industry sectors. The strategy analysis of the development of tourism sector as a growth alternative source is continued by using the panel data regression with model developed by Joshi, Pouydal, & Larson (2017) with the study case of 30 provinces in Indonesia from the year 2010-2015. This analysis will also be linked to the model of tourism multiplier. Based on the analysis, there are 3 strategies for the development of tourism sector, which is increasing the conducive socioeconomic conditions, development of tourism infrastructure, and development of tourism resources.

ABSTRACT: The complex relationship between production structure and economic growth has been the subject of considerable debate among Brazilian economists. This debate became especially relevant after the 2000s, when Brazil experienced a period of growth from the rise of commodity exports, which contrasted with the stagnation observed in the previous two decades. To analyse the capacity of commodity exports to generate long-term economic growth, this paper assesses this sector's performance and its effects on related sectors in the upstream supply chain through input-output tables. These analyses lead to two main conclusions. First, expansion of agricultural and mineral commodities production exhibited little capacity to boost the economy because they have the lowest linkage indices. Second, the analysis of the Brazilian production structure demonstrated that sectors related to manufacturing can stimulate other sectors, such as sophisticated services, because of their high linkage effects on other sectors. This study also demonstrates that a development strategy should take benefit of comparative advantages in order to reach a structural change oriented toward expanding manufacturing.

However, the much anticipated shift in the focus is expected to occur in coming decades and the group of countries, popularly known as the BRICs is speculated to emerge stronger in the race of economic dominance. This chapter is a work on BRICs and discusses about the partner countries with attention on the tourism sector. Podkarpackie Voivodeship is one of the regions of Poland in which the number of agritourism entities is very high. Therefore tourism plays a significant role in its development strategy. The aim of the paper is to identify the current state of agritourism and the changes that have occurred in the region in the years 2000–2016. Specific objectives are to determine the distribution of agritourism farms and their offer, together with a comprehensive analysis of the environmental and socio-economic factors, as well as the impact of the Slovak-Ukrainian border. The report was developed on the statistical materials from the Polish Central Statistical Office, Podkarpackie Agricultural Advisory Centre in Boguchwała and data collected from municipalities and district offices that is published on their websites, as well as through interviews with 100 owners of agritourism farms in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The research has shown, on the one hand, the decline in the number of farms in the region and, on the other hand, the increase in the diversity of the tourist offer of these entities. Distribution of agritourism farms is closely linked to the attractiveness of natural environment and quality of secondary tourism resources. Traditional agritourism has not yet fully used its countryside, as well as cross-border advantages of its location.
