The authors of the paper have innovated and explored the theory of size relations of a financial project, the duration of its creation, the determination of its price, the duration of use and financing of the price of a project. The duration of use of a financial project has two planned time intervals. The first time interval is planned for repayment of the loan amount of the project price, and the second one is for acquisition of the planned profit. A new model of loan repayment is used – with different; decursive annuities, interest rates and periods of capitalization. The introduced theory was applied to calculations in the form of a financial project model using Excel.

A new absolute determination of the acceleration due to gravity at the National Physical Laboratory has been made by timing the symmetrical free motion of a body moving under the attraction of gravity; it is the first time this method has been used. The moving body was a glass ball and it was timed at its passage across two horizontal planes by the flashes of light that it produced when it passed between two horizontal slits which served to define each plane optically, the ball focusing light from one of the slits, which was illuminated, upon the other slit which had a photomultiplier placed behind it. The separation of the two planes defined by the pairs of slits was measured interferometrically and referred directly to the international wavelength definition of the metre, while the time intervals were measured in terms of the atomic unit of time scale A l. The value of gravity as reduced to the British Fundamental Gravity Station in the N. P. L. is 981 181.75 mgal, s.d. 0.13 mgal (1 mgal = 10 -5 m/s 2 ). Systematic errors, are believed to be very small; this is particularly true of the error due to air resistance. The main contribution to the observed scatter of the results comes from microseismic disturbances. The new result is 1.4 mgal less than that obtained at the fundamental station by J. S. Clark (1939) using a reversible pendulum . It is very close to the mean of a number of recent absolute determinations by other methods, but this may not be very significant because the uncertainties of those determinations and of the comparisons between the sites at which they were made and the present site are not less than 5 times the standard deviation of the new result.

ABSTRACTAlteration of compacted sodium-bentonite (Volclay MX-80) caused by groundwater in simulated repository conditions for high level radioactive waste, was studied in an experiment where bentonite (wrapped by a copper cylinder) was let to react with two types (A,B) of synthetic granitic groundwater that are distinguished by their initial concentration of potassium and chloride. The reaction took place in ambient conditions at a temperature of 75 °C and proceeded during several time intervals up to 36 months. At the end of each time interval the water was chemically analysed for determination of possible changes in composition. Chemical and mineralogical changes in the bentonite were investigated by using NH4Cl extractions, XRD and microprobe (SEM, EDS) analyses and were studied as a function of the reaction time (months) as well as of the distance (mm) from the contact front with water.Sodium ions were found to migrate out from the bentonite while being replaced by other cations such as calcium, magnesium and to some extent, particularly during the reaction of the bentonite with water B, by potassium. No clear evidence was found for the fixation of potassium ions in the interlayer position of montmorillonite clay and the transformation to illite. The main mineralogical change in the bentonite was from Na- to Ca-rich montmorillonite. Secondary processes were the dissolution-precipitation of sulphur compounds, dissolution of gypsum and carbonates and the dissolution-precipitation of copper compounds.

This article presents the expressions which allow evaluating the potential accuracy of radio source location by the method of «imaginary base» when using the linear model of changing the bearing on it. The concept of the method of «imaginary base» is to be used in solving the triangulation problem not only of measuring bearing, but also their extrapolated values at a certain time interval. Potential characteristics is determined by accuracy, dynamic and geometrical factors, bearing measurement and extrapolation times. The article shows that when using a linear model, there are limitations both on the time of measuring bearing and on the time of extrapolation. It will be because of the increase in the variance of the error of estimating the distance. Limiting of series decomposition members number of non-linear bearing change dependence from time there are. It depends on the speed of changing bearing (depends on the range and speed) and the initial bearing (depends on the track angle). Extrapolation over long time intervals is possible only at long distances and at relatively low speeds.

Abstract We numerically investigated moisture transfer in buildings made of concrete. We considered three types of concrete: normal concrete, pumice concrete and cellular concrete. We present the results of a 1-D liquid water flow in such materials. We evaluated the moisture distribution in building materials using the Runge-Kutta fourth-and-fifth-order method. The DOPRI5 code was used as an integrator. The model calculated the resulting moisture content and other moisture-dependent physical parameters. The moisture curves were plotted. The dampness data obtained was utilized for the numerical computation of the coefficient of the capillary conductivity of moisture. Different profiles of this coefficient are represented. Calculations were performed for four different values of the outdoor temperature: -5°C, 0°C, 5°C and 10°C. We determined that the curves corresponding to small time intervals of wetting are associated with great amplitudes of the capillary conductivity . The amplitudes of the coefficient of the capillary conductivity decrease as the time interval increases. High outdoor temperatures induce high amplitudes of the coefficient of the capillary conductivity.

ABSTRACT Radiologically thyroidectomized female Swiss mice were injected intraperitoneally with 131I-labeled thyroxine (T4*), and were studied at time intervals of 30 minutes and 4, 28, 48 and 72 hours after injection, 10 mice for each time interval. The organs of the central nervous system and the pituitary glands were chromatographed, and likewise serum from the same animal. The chromatographic studies revealed a compound with the same mobility as 131I-labeled triiodothyronine in the organs of the CNS and in the pituitary gland, but this compound was not present in the serum. In most of the chromatographic studies, the peaks for I, T4 and T3 coincided with those for the standards. In several instances, however, such an exact coincidence was lacking. A tentative explanation for the presence of T3* in the pituitary gland following the injection of T4* is a deiodinating system in the pituitary gland or else the capacity of the pituitary gland to concentrate T3* formed in other organs. The presence of T3* is apparently a characteristic of most of the CNS (brain, midbrain, medulla and spinal cord); but in the case of the optic nerve, the compound is not present under the conditions of this study.

At present, the problem of establishing disability is a point at issue in Russia. Despite the fact that medical criteria for disability are being developed very actively, high-quality methods for assessing social hallmarks are still lacking. Since disability is a phenomenon inherent in any society, each state forms a social and economic policy for people with disabilities in accordance with its level of development, priorities and opportunities. We have proposed a three-stage model, which includes a system for the consistent solution of the main tasks aimed at studying the causes and consequences of the problems encountered today in the social protection of citizens with health problems. The article shows why the existing approaches to the determination of disability and rehabilitation programs do not correspond to the current state of Russian society and why a decrease in the rate of persons recognized as disabled for the first time does not indicate an improvement in the health of the population. The authors proposed a number of measures with a view to correcting the situation according to the results of the study.

Background: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), an oncogenic protein found constitutively active in many types of human malignancies, is considered to be a promising target for cancer therapy. Objective: In this study for the first time, a simple and accurate method has been developed for the determination of a STAT3 dimerization inhibitor called stattic in aqueous and plasma samples. Methods: A reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) composed of C18 column as stationary phase, and the mixture of acetonitrile (60%) and water (40%) as mobile phase with a UV detection at 215 nm were applied for quantification of stattic. The developed method was validated by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guideline. Results: The method provided a linear range between 1-40 and 2.5-40 µg mL-1 for aqueous and plasma samples, respectively, with a correlation coefficient of 0.999. The accuracy (as recovery) of the developed method was found to be between 95-105% for aqueous medium and 85-115% for plasma samples. The precision (as relative standard deviation) for aqueous and plasma samples was less than 6% and 15%, respectively. The sensitivity of the developed method based on FDA guideline was 1 µg mL-1 for aqueous and 2.5 µg mL-1 for plasma samples. Conclusion: These results show that the established method is a fast and accurate quantification for stattic in aqueous and plasma samples.
