Caring in acute and critical care rooms has a more complex and dynamic nature due to unstable patient conditions and requires more attention from nurses. Nurses' technological competence represents their caring based on nursing science practice. This study aimed to find out how nurses’perception of caring based on technology in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room in Jember Region. This study used a quantitative method based on a descriptive survey. This study used a total sampling, with a total of 47 nurses as respondents. The researcher used a demographic questionnaire and modification of caring attribute, professional self-concept, and technological influence scale to collect data. In this study, univariate analysis was applied to analyze the data. The median score was 68, as the scores approach the maximum score of 76. This study demonstrates that nurses have a good perception toward caring based on technology. The conclusion on this study is nurses perception of caring based on technology are generally positive. To further improve nurses' perceptions of caring expressed through technological competence, the researcher advises the managerial department to facilitate education and training on technological competence in order to provide better care and caring to patients. ABSTRAKKepadatan pasien dan pergantian pasien yang cepat di Instalasi Gawat Darurat (IGD) menyebabkan perawat kurang optimal dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan kebutuhan spiritual bagi pasien. Kondisi tersebut dapat mempengaruhi persepsi perawat IGD akan spiritualitas dan pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual pasien. Pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual pasien IGD yang baik juga dapat meningkatan hasil pengobatan yang baik. Perawat yang memiliki persepsi spiritual yang baik akan mempunyai kemampuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan spiritual pasien. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui gambaran persepsi perawat mengenai spiritualitas dan pemenuhan kabutuhan spiritual pasien di IGD. Metode: penelitian ini menggunakan studi deskriptif survei. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling dan diperoleh 75 responden. Data diambil dengan menggunakan kuesioner Spiritual Care-Giving Scale (SCGS) dan dianalisis dengan analisa univariat. Hasil penelitian: lebih dari separuh perawat IGD mempersepsikan kebutuhan spiritual dan pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual pasien sebagai hal yang sangat penting (57,3%). Setiap aspek juga dipersepsikan sangat penting oleh perawat IGD, yaitu atribut dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual (77,3%), perspektif kebutuhan spiritual (60%), gambaran pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual (54,7%), sikap dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual (88%), dan nilai-nilai dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual (65,3%). Kesimpulan: aspek yang perlu diperbaiki adalah nilai-nilai dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan spiritual. Nilai-nilai dari spiritualitas diartikan sebagai bagian dari keperawatan holistik yang sangat penting. SummaryBackground:The most common sources of error in the preanalytical phase are considered to be at the stage of patient preparation and sample collection. In order to reduce the preanalytical errors, we aimed to determine the level of phlebotomists knowledge about the preanalytic phase before and after planned trainings in the study.Methods:Training about preanalytical processes was given to the 454 health professionals and the majority of them were employed as nurse. Questionnaires before and after training were conducted. In order to assess the effect of the training into the process, preanalytical error rates were calculated before and after training.Results:The total correct answer rates of vocational school of health diplomaed were statistically lower than the total correct answer rates of other. It was observed significantly increase in the rate of correct answers to questionnaire and significantly decrease in preanalytical error rates after training.Conclusions:The results of the survey showed that the attitudes of the phlebotomists were diverse in the preanalytical processes according to the levels of education and their practices. By providing training to all staff on a regular basis, their information about preanalytical phase could be updated and hence, it may possible to significantly reduce the preanalytical errors in health practice and nursing science.

An analysis of social representations by scientists from different points of view is carried out. The views on the content and structural components of social representations and their influence on the views about the future profession from students-psychologists are highlighted. The influence of social representations on the peculiarities of the formation of their professional self-consciousness is analyzed. The functions of social representations that influence the image of the profession of a psychologist are revealed. The idea is based on the fact that external social (conditions of study, the direction of training of specialists) and internal (individual-characterological features of an individual) factors influence on social representations. The results of the surveyed by us students-psychologists were analyzed, which highlighted the opinion that the social representations are influenced by: the need for knowledge of social psychology, the development of personal individual qualities, general and social intelligence, the possession of communicative skills, the ability to navigate social events. The opinion that the corrective and training work on developing social representations of students will enable the flow of the specifics of images and create adequate ideas about the profession of a psychologist.

Resumen:La transferencia de la formación, junto a los factores que la facilitan o la inhiben, forma parte de los retos a los que se enfrentan las instituciones universitarias. Teniendo como foco la formación en TIC que recibe el profesorado universitario, en este trabajo se analiza la influencia que tienen los factores relativos a la formación y al propio participante en la posterior transferencia al puesto de trabajo. Se ha llevado a cabo una investigación transeccional de corte correlacional en la que han participado 155 docentes de tres universidades catalanas que habían pasado por un proceso formativo en TIC. En cuanto al diseño de la formación, los resultados apuntan a que una formación diseñada según el contexto real de participante influye significativamente en la posterior puesta en práctica de lo aprendido. En cuanto al participante, los resultados sugieren que lo que influye en la transferencia es la capacidad de integrar tecnología, pedagogía y disciplina (TPACK). Se concluye el artículo con una serie de recomendaciones con ánimo de facilitar la transferencia de las formaciones en TIC que se ofertan al profesorado universitario. Abstract:The transfer of training is, together with the factors involved, one of the challenges that universities have to face. Focusing on the teacher training in ICT, in this work we analyse the role of individual and training design factors on transfer. A cross-sectional correlation investigation was performed, participating 155 teachers from three Catalan universities who had been trained in ICT. As far as the training design, the results show that a training designed according to the real context of the participant is the biggest influential factor on transfer. Also, the results suggests that the capacity of the participant to integrate technology, pedagogy and content (TPACK) is an influential factor on transfer. The technological competence, which is similar to instrumental ability, obtained the 4th position in the correlation analysis. This paper concludes with recommendations in order to facilitate the transfer of teacher training in ICT.

The Covid-19 pandemic demands changes in health services that focus on social restrictions. The use of digital technology is key in efforts to combat the Covid-19 virus through online homecare. Health workers play an important role as leaders in supporting the optimal implementation of online homecare. The leadership of health workers is identified through the behaviors shown during homecare services to patients. The purpose of this study is to analyze the leadership behavior of health workers in providing health services through the online homecare www.excellentcare.id during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive survey method.The population in this study were all online homecare health workers www.excellentcare.id.com with a sampling technique in the form of a total sampling of 43 health workers. The results showed that most of the health workers with adults, most of the health workers were female, most of the health workers with a nurse professional education level and almost all health workers had good leadership behavior. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that health workers will demonstrate and continuously improve leadership behavior through education and training in order to show exemplary, inspire patients to be able to face challenges, cooperate among health workers and provide support for patients and families.

Data repositories are a strategy in line with precision medicine and big data initiatives, and are an efficient way to maximize data utility and form collaborative research relationships. Nurse researchers are uniquely positioned to make a valuable contribution using this strategy. The purpose of this article is to present a review of the benefits and challenges associated with developing data repositories, and to describe the process we used to develop and maintain a data repository in HIV research. Systematic planning, data collection, synthesis, and data sharing have enabled us to conduct robust cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses with more than 200 people living with HIV. Our repository building has also led to collaboration and training, both in and out of our organization. We present a pragmatic and affordable way that nurse scientists can build and maintain a data repository, helping us continue to make to our understanding of health phenomena.

Burnout is inherent in many health care professions. This research investigation was conducted to determine if burnout existed at significant levels and if a relationship between burnout, work environment factors and demographic characteristics existed among a group of psychiatric occupational therapy personnel. The study design was a descriptive survey format utilizing mailed questionnaires. Eighty-nine respondents completed the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the Work Environment Scale and a demographic questionnaire. A series of regression analyses were performed. The results indicated that the following were significant predictors of burnout: work involvement, a large percentage of clients on one's caseload diagnosed with schizophrenia, work pressure, age, income level, the length of time working in psychiatric occupational therapy, caseload size and the amount of overtime performed on a weekly basis. Implications for psychiatric occupational therapy practice are discussed and recommendations for future research are made.

IntroductionPaediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurses (PICU RNs) manage the code cart during paediatric emergencies at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. These are low -frequency, high-stakes events.MethodsAn uncontrolled intervention study with 6-month follow-up. A collaboration of physician and nursing experts developed a rolling-refresher training programme consisting of five simulated scenarios, including 22 code cart skills, to establish nursing code cart competency. The cohort of PICU RNs underwent a competency assessment in training 1. To achieve competence, the participating RN received immediate feedback and instruction and repeated each task until mastery during training 1. The competencies were repeated 6 months later, designated training 2.ResultsThirty-two RNs participated in training 1. Sixteen RNs (50%) completed the second training. Our rolling-refresher training programme resulted in a 43% reduction in the odds of first attempt failures between training 1 and training 2 (p=0.01). Multivariate linear regression evaluating the difference in first attempt failure between training 1 and training 2 revealed that the following covariates were not significantly associated with this improvement: interval Paediatric Advanced Life Support training, interval use of the code cart or defibrillator (either real or simulated) and time between training sessions. Univariate analysis between the two trainings revealed a statistically significant reduction in first attempt failures for: preparing an epinephrine infusion (72% vs 41%, p=0.04) and providing bag-mask ventilation (28% vs 0%, p=0.02).ConclusionsOur rolling-refresher training programme demonstrated significant improvement in performance for low-frequency, high-risk skills required to manage a paediatric code cart with retention after initial training.

The present study investigates makerspaces in Nigerian academic libraries: perceived benefits and challenges. Four objectives  guided the study: what constituted makerspace in academic library, the level of awareness of makerspace by academic library benefits and challenges of adopting makerspace in libraries. The descriptive survey design was adopted and questionnaire was used for data collection. The population of the study comprised of professional and paraprofessional librarians of Ambrose University and University of Benin, from which a sample size of 119 was drawn using total enumeration sampling technique. Out of the 119 copies of questionnaire administered, 94 were retrieved and analyzed using simple percentage and frequency tables. Findings revealed that, the respondents were aware of what constitute makerspace which are library space, 3D printers, computers and projector. It was also discovered that, the respondents had a high level of awareness of makerspace in the library. Some of the benefits associated with the use of makerspace are: it facilitates group interaction, it improves knowledge and provides access to wide varieties of tools and technology. Some of the challenges encountered in the adoption of makerspace are training of academic library staff, security of makerspace gadgets, poor funding, erratic power supply, high cost and maintenance of equipment. It was however recommended that; librarians should make deliberate effort to explore the potentials in makerspace in the enhancement of their services and training should be conducted regularly to enhance librarian’s skills in the use of ICTs.
