The aim of the article is to present the importance of public agricultural advisory services, which are an important link of the National Rural Network (NRN) in the process of its functioning in the 2014-2020 financial perspective. The indirect objective is to assess the degree of use of financial instruments supporting the NRN by agricultural advisory services, which are resources of Technical Assistance in the framework of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 (RDP). The NRN is part of the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD).The main stakeholders of the ENRD are agricultural advisory services. The regulations concerning the organization of the NRN in the financial perspective 2021-2027 were presented. The study was conducted using different research methods. The basic methods include an (comparative-descriptive) analysis of national and international legal acts and literature on the subject, and the method of synthesis and deduction. The importance of agricultural advisory units (AAU) in the functioning of the NRN system was assessed in six selected Polish voivodeships (Podkarpackie, Opolskie, Lubelskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Śląskie) based on the results of a study of empirical material published by the Minister of Agriculture. It was shown that the resources of AAU ensured the efficient performance of statutory tasks in the scope of supporting the functioning of the NRN for the years 2014-2020. However, an unfavourable phenomenon was the significant proportion of funds that were not used for NRN and returned to the Ministry of Agriculture. A significant share of unused funds indicated ineffective operational planning of tasks under the NRN for individual voivodeships.

The aim of the article is to discuss issues related to the development of tourism in the context of the possibility of financial support available from cohesion policy funds in the current financial perspective for the years 2014-2020. The particular attention was paid to the multifaceted nature of modern tourism and the directions of changes in the use of EU funds, referring to the completed programming period 2007-2013. An attempt was also made to indicate the significance of tourism in the section of the national economy of Poland and in the European Union, concentrating on its interdisciplinary character. Characteristics of cohesion policy, its goals and principles of functioning were made. The article is of a review nature, which means that the authors’ own materials and empirical material from the literature of the subject were used. The figures were obtained from reports published by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers. It was found out that the amount of allocated funds for cohesion policy among all European Union countries in 2014-2020 is the highest for Poland and amounts to EUR 72.9 billion. There is an increase in the amount of funds allocated from the European Union to Poland, compared to the amount of allocated funds in the 2007-2013 perspective. It was also pointed out that the cohesion policy instruments mentioned above only indirectly contribute to the development of tourism, as the financing for 2014-2020 lacks programs and activities entirely dedicated to tourism.

The advent of the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) has added a great deal to our understanding of prehistoric metal artefacts in England and Wales, namely in expanding enormously the corpuses of objects previously thought to be quite scarce. One such artefact type is the miniature socketed 'votive' axe, most of which are found in Wiltshire and Hampshire. As a direct result of developing such recording initiatives, reporting of these artefacts as detector finds from the early 2000s onwards has virtually trebled the number originally published by Paul Robinson in his 1995 analysis. Through extensive data-collection, synthesising examples recorded via the PAS with those from published excavations, the broad aims of this paper (in brief) are as follows: firstly, produce a solid typology for these artefacts; secondly, investigate their spatial distribution across England and Wales. As a more indirect third aim, this paper also seeks to redress the imbalance of focus and academic study specifically applying to Hampshire finds of this object type, which despite producing a significant proportion of the currently known corpus have never been the subject of detailed analysis.

The unemployment rate in Nigeria and other Sub Saharan African countries keep surging year after year despite the need for human resources in several sectors. Nigeria records a large number of young graduates from tertiary institutions most of whom find it difficult to get white collar jobs. Despite this ongoing, human resource which is needed for economic development remains under exploited. Young people have a sense of responsibility which makes it easy for them to take up opportunities that will lead to individual and societal development. Unemployed youths who have interest in agriculture and the extension system can be recruited into this sector to achieve sustainable agricultural and rural development in these areas. Capacity development is essential in this scenario to absorb these group of people into the agricultural sector, thus, reducing employment rate. Unqualified young persons can carry out the functions or duties of agricultural extension advisory services if their technical and knowledge skills in line with the subject matter is developed.
