The subject of this research is the audio guide as a relatively new multimedia product used in the sphere of tourism and education. The author determines the key advantages of using audio guide, as well as functional-linguistic peculiarities of organizing this genre of tourism discourse. Classification of audio guides is carried out based on their target audience and content. Special attention is given to examination of the prospects of using audio guides in teaching foreign languages. The author outlines the functions performed by audio guides in foreign language classes, such as entertainment, promotional, scientific-enlightening, scientific research, and educational. The scientific novelty lies in consideration of the type of educational activity that used audio guide as a modern and highly effective means of mastering foreign language skills. Audio guide not only creates favorable conditions for the implementation of educational-pedagogical activity, but also has a wide range of variations for solution of educational tasks. The use of audio guides is particularly relevant in studying the disciplines related to cultural-historical heritage of the country of origin of the language taught; they can also be used in expanding vocabulary, learning grammar, phonetics, etc. The article describes the most popular software and services for working with audio materials, as well as the examples of using a multimedia product in the classes of English phonetics.

The article reviews the use of audiovisual tools in the framework of foreign language classes. Such tools should, on the one hand, simplify the understanding and grasping of the subject, and, on the other, serve as an additional source of gaining extralinguistic skills. The authors consider a wide range of possibilities for the use of audiovisual tools while teaching Spanish to students of non-language higher education institutions of humanitarian profile. An educational film “Español extra” and a documentary devoted to the San Fermín holiday (Pamplona, Spain) are taken as an example.

This article deals with the method of using regional studies in foreign language classes in a non-linguistic university. It speaks about the realization of interdisciplinary relations as one of the effective means of professsionalizing the educational process. The paper also considers some variants of activities at the English lessons. Combinations of such subjects as Geography and English, History and English are presented. The interests of students in the field of their specialty are revealed. The interdisciplinary relations as a means of increasing general education and cultural potential of higher educational institutions are also highlighted. The necessity for highly qualified specialists in various specialities is emphasized in this article. <p>The main thing with the sub-class mechanism as found in languages like C++, SIMULA and Smalltalk is its possibility to express <em>specializations</em>. A general class, covering a wide range of objects, may be specialized to cover more specific objects. This is obtained by three properties of sub-classing: An object of a sub-class inherits the attributes of the super-class, virtual procedure/method attributes (of the super-class) may be specialized in the sub-class, and (in SIMULA only) it inherits the actions of the super-class.</p><p>In the languages mentioned above, virtual procedures/methods of a super-class are specialized in sub-classes in a very primitive manner: they are simply <em>re-defined</em> and need not bear any resemblance of the virtual in the super-class. In BETA, a new object-oriented language, classes and methods are unified into one concept, and by an extension of the virtual concept, virtual procedures/methods in sub-classes are defined as <em>specializations of the virtuals</em> in the super-class. The virtual procedures/methods of the sub-classes thus inherit the attributes (e.g. parameters) and actions from the ''super-procedure/method''.</p><p>In the languages mentioned above only procedures/methods may be virtual. As classes and procedures/methods are unified in BETA this gives also <em>virtual classes</em>. The paper demonstrates, how this may be used to parameterize types and enforce constraints on types.</p>

Extensive reading (ER) has been advocated for having numerous benefits and values to foreign language classes. The Faculty of Education, Tribhuvan University has prescribed a wide range of textbooks, reference materials, and web-based materials, especially for Masters’ students. Besides, these learners are required to read out-of-the-course materials, too. These contexts call for extensive reading on the part of the learners. Based on this background, the present study aimed to explore the learners’ choice for reading materials, their purposes of reading, and the expected teacher roles. The study followed the survey research design. The respondents were 100 M.Ed. 1st and 2nd year English students of the academic year 2014-15 A.D. of Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara. The respondents preferred easy, interesting, informative and enjoyable materials to read; their objective of reading was to obtain general information; and they expected teachers to be prompter, participant, counselor, and role model. Journal of NELTA, Vol. 21, No. 1-2, 2016, Page: 86-92

One of the most important parts of the educational experience of the Russian military emigration is the involvement of young people in the historical and cultural work in the museum, military, memorial, literary and publishing field. Active military emigration in education can be regarded as an essential component of the historical heritage of the Russian abroad in general and as a field for the development of socio-cultural dialogue with the world of our compatriots abroad. Educational activity of the Russian military immigration, carried out in the framework of cultural, educational, military, sporting and charitable organizations covered a wide range immigrant youth in various countries around the world and helped to maintain the authority of the military societies and unions in the society of Russia abroad.

Currently, the problem of combating corruption is in the center of attention of Russian society and the state. The legal and organizational framework for combating corruption has been formed. Anti-corruption legislation is constantly being improved, becoming more holistic and systematic, so further classification of its concepts is required. The Glossary contains more than 500 terms of Russian and foreign language origin, which are basic in the practice of combating corruption and are used in criminal, administrative and financial law of Russia; it guides the reader in a complex system of modern legal categories related to anti-corruption topics; uses the tools of international agreements ratified by the Russian Federation; it will help clarify the conceptual apparatus of normative legal acts and eliminate contradictions in existing documents. The publication is intended to be used in the educational process in the framework of scientific and educational support for combating corruption. For employees of scientific institutions and government agencies, teachers, students, postgraduates of higher educational institutions and practicing lawyers.

The article highlights the problems of junior university students’ motivation to studying foreign languages. These problems are vital and widely discussed by scholars due to implementation of Bologna process. The author offers to understand the motivation as a process that combines individual and situational parameters aiming to transform the subject situation into the relevant motive. The author proves that the leading motive of the students should be awareness of the necessity of foreign language command for the successful professional activity. But students are primarily influenced by the teacher’s motivation. Under this framework the levels of the teacher’s activity forming is presented together with the framework of the motives study. On the basis of the references survey common classification of the motives is considered as well as techniques that stimulate the process of communication. The examples are taken from foreign and Ukrainian sources on methodology of teaching. These practical examples prove that communication centered training involves all language training skills. The article contains strategies and examples the above strategies. In the conclusion the reasons that determine students’ motivation are considered. It is proved that the most effective way of foreign language teaching is an interactive activity of a teacher and a student. Systematic estimation, encouragement and consideration of students’ professional interests are key elements in the process.

Abstract In the era of social media, the huge availability of digital data (e.g. posts sent through social networks or unstructured data scraped from websites) allows to develop new types of research in a wide range of fields. These types of data are characterized by some advantages such as reduced collection costs, short retrieval times and production of almost real-time outputs. Nevertheless, their collection and analysis can be challenging. For example, particular approaches are required for the selection of posts related to specific topics; moreover, retrieving the information we are interested in inside Twitter posts can be a difficult task.The main aim of this paper is to propose an unsupervised dictionary-based method to filter tweets related to a specific topic, i.e. environment. We start from the tweets sent by a selection of Official Social Accounts clearly linked with the subject of interest. Then, a list of keywords is identified in order to set a topic-oriented dictionary. We test the performance of our method by applying the dictionary to more than 54 million geolocated tweets posted in Great Britain between January and May 2019.

The continuous development of the organization and business excellence currently belongs to the most important challenges of modern management. It requires many activities aimed at the improvement of the efficiency of processes and the improvement of the product quality. This is accompanied by a wide range of performance evaluation and organizational maturity analysis in many aspects. The objective of this paper is to provide a systematic review protocol followed and the associated reasoning. The systematic review of the literature is carried out according to strictly defined four phases. The literature of the subject placed in the universal Thompson/Reuters Web of Science database was adopted as the object of exploration. The analysis of the most important articles, proceedings, books and reviews has been performed. The review covers the last 25 years. The systematic review reported in this paper was guided by the objective to classify existing organizational maturity models (OMM), in order of their application area and to indicate the latest research trends. The result of the conducted research is the classification of organizational maturity models including key categories. The main contribution of the paper is the subsequent grouping of these models into nine areas of application to allow further study and development of these. In addition, new maturity models were selected for specific areas of the organization's operations or related to new management concepts. The value of the article is a clear and detailed review of the models proposed in the literature, which may be useful for both researchers and practitioners. The main limitation is the analysis in the scope of topic organizational maturity models including only the Thompson/Reuters Web of Science. This is the first stage of literature review that are continued.

This article examines the problem of teaching foreign language vocabulary in bilingual conditions. The importance of this article is due to the fact that the emphasis is placed on the study of qualitative characteristics of foreign language vocabulary in the conditions of chechen-russian bilingualism, which can affect communication in the study of native, russian and foreign languages. In the process of teaching foreign language vocabulary in the conditions of chechen-russian bilingualism, it is accompanied by additional difficulties, which are manifested due to the interaction of different lexical systems of the contacting languages. It should be noted that the difficulties of mastering the spelling features of lexical units are due to the peculiarities of german spelling, which is characterized by numerous rules for combining letters when writing and exceptions. The result of the research is the conclusion that the proposed classification of the development of lexical units of the german language, as practice shows, is an effective means for bilingual students to overcome difficulties in the process of forming a foreign language lexical competence.
