Photovoice is a photographic technique allowing people to identify, represent, and enhance their community by entrusting cameras to the hands of participants to enable them to capture issues central to their lives. However, few studies have used Photovoice with disadvantaged single mothers, and explicitly studied the impact of using this type of methodology with this population. Hence, the purpose of this study was to assess the impact of Photovoice with disadvantaged single mothers participating in the community-based program Toward Success. Results showed that participants experienced generally positive impacts, such as a sense of accomplishment and increased agency in their lives, and reported no negative impacts.

This study aims to determine the impact of the beauty training program in PPKD of East Jakarta  on students. The impact can be seen based on three criteria, namely positive impacts according to program objectives, positive impacts outside the program objectives (side effects), and negative impacts outside the program objectives. The research method used in this study is an evaluative study using the Goal Free Evaluation model. The research subjects consisted of: managers, instructors, and beauty training participants in PPKD of East Jakarta . Data was collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that (1) the positive impact according to the program objectives was felt by almost all training participants, namely they could increase their knowledge and skills in the field of beauty and were ready to enter the workforce, (2) a positive impact outside the program objectives freelance work as a makeup artist, having confidence in work, and daring to open a business in the field of beauty, and (3) negative impacts outside the program's objectives felt by a small number of training participants who were less serious and less focused on training that they could not accept the material taught so that they are not ready to enter the workforce.

Communities have already felt the impact of climate change on their livelihoods. Since the risk of increased negative impacts is high, communities need to understand the climate change patterns, the likely impacts and measures to mitigate the negative impacts. This study was undertaken to assess climate change vulnerability, assess the associated risk and map it, and use these information to prepare adaptation plan. It was found that communities can assess the climate change vulnerability, and map the associated risks. They can prepare their adaptation plan to mitigate the likely negative impacts, and access resources from the local government to implement their action plan. This study has recommended that the community based climate change vulnerability assessment and risk mapping for adaptation planning tools and methodologies developed by this piloting study should be used by the local governments in their regular planning process to address the climate change issues at the community level.

Over the years, the Indian politics has gone through tremendous transformation. Amidst these, some changes are positives while others end as bittern experiences. The most positive changes in the Indian political system with the advent of information technology are transparency and accountability. With the help of IT, now public has become more aware about their role as the citizens. People know about dos and don’ts in political system. The technology has changed the life of many and makes it simple and more responsive. The main objective of this paper is to analyse the impact of information technology on Indian politics. The research methodology is explanatory in nature and for data collection; it is confined upto only secondary sources which includes journals, websites, etc. After going through the detailed analysis on the impact of information technology on Indian politics, it can be said that there are both positive and negative impacts. The need of the hour is to minimise the negative impacts and maximise the positive impacts. As in the age of digitalisation, we cannot ignore technology. This research aims to figure out how human’s behaviors affect the dolphin’s life in Dolphin Tale. The researcher used qualitative method to analyze the data. The primary data are taken from Charles Martin Smith’s movies entitled Dolphin Tale (2011) and Dolphin Tale 2 (2014). In addition, the researcher used ecocriticism approach to analyze the positive and negative impacts of the human’s behavior on the dolphin’s life. Theories of human and nature and dolphin studies are also used to analyze the impacts of the human’s behavior on the dolphin’s life. The results show that some human behaviors can give negative impacts while some other give positive impacts to the dolphin’s life. The negative impacts can be seen on the dolphin that gets injured because of human behavior. Meanwhile, the positive ones can be seen on the dolphin that is successfuly recovered. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to describe the behavior of coastal communities in the mangrove forests of Balangdatu Village and the impact of the behavior of coastal communities in the mangrove forests of Balangdatu Village, Takalar Regency. The data collection techniques are by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The data validation technique is source triangulation, which is to examine the credibility of the data by checking the data that has been obtained through several sources. From the results of the study found that (i) The form of behavior of coastal mangrove forest community consists of ecocentrism (preserving) and anthropocentrism (damaging). Sustainable behavior consists of community-based conservation and preservation of mangrove forests with the application of local wisdom, while destructive behavior of the community over-exploits, changes the function of mangrove lands into ponds and environmental pollution. (ii) Impacts of community behavior in mangrove forests include positive and negative impacts that affect the economic and ecological functions of mangrove forests.

Background: Brief advice is recommended to increase physical activity (PA) within primary care. This study assessed change in PA levels and mental wellbeing after a motivational interviewing (MI) community-based PA intervention and the impact of signposting [SP] and Social Action [SA] (i.e. weekly group support) pathways. Methods: Participants (n=2084) took part in a community-based, primary care PA programme using MI techniques. Self-reported PA and mental wellbeing data were collected at baseline (following an initial 30-minute MI appointment), 12-weeks, six-months, and 12-months. Participants were assigned based upon the surgery they attended to the SP or SA pathway. Multilevel models were used to derive point estimates and 95%CIs for outcomes at each time point and change scores. Results: Participants increased PA and mental wellbeing at each follow-up time point through both participant pathways and with little difference between pathways. Retention was similar between pathways at 12-weeks, but the SP pathway retained more participants at six-months and 12-months. Conclusions: Both pathways produced similar improvements in PA and mental wellbeing, suggesting the effectiveness of MI based PA interventions. However, due to lower resources required yet similar effects, SP pathways are recommended over SA to support PA in primary care settings.

The transformation that COVID-19 has brought upon the world is unparalleled. The impact on mental health is equally unprecedented and yet unexplored in depth. An online-based survey was administered to 413 community-based adults during COVID-19 confinement to explore psychological impact and identify high risk profiles. Young females concerned about the future, expressing high COVID-related distress, already following psychological therapy and suffering from pre-existing chronic conditions, were those at highest risk of psychological impact due to the COVID-19 situation. Findings could be employed to design tailored psychological interventions in the early stages of the outbreak to avoid the onset/exacerbation of psychopathology.
