The varied natural potential makes Bogor Regency has a lot of natural tourism potential. Its location in the highlands adds to the attraction of tourists to visit. One of the natural tourist destinations in Bogor Regency is Cipamingkis waterfall, the location of this waterfall is in Wargajaya Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency. Sukamakmur district actually has several tourist attractions, such as the Kahyangan villa and the Ciherang waterfall. However, the existence of this tourist attraction has not had a significant impact on the villagers, most of the villagers still rely on agricultural fields as their livelihood. In addition, the village youth have not played a role in the management of tourism objects. They prefer to work outside the village rather than develop their village. Therefore, this community service activity aims to provide training in managing and developing tourism objects in Sukamakmur district, the concept of community-based tourism management or better known as Community Based Tourism (CBT). The training was carried out in three stages, including program socialization, group discussions, and the last stage was tourism management planning. The results of these activities, in the socialization stage, the youth of Sukamakmur district actually have the motivation to manage and develop tourism objects in Sukamakmur district. However, it is constrained by limited knowledge about the management of tourism objects. The second stage of activity tries to dig up information on the existence of the tourist attraction, so that several alternative tourism development plans are obtained. In the last stage, it is activated to try alternative tourism objects that can be developed in Sukamakmur district with the hope that Sukamakmur district becomes a Tourism Village and residents get a positive impact.

ICTs have played a transformative role on the cultural components of all stratums of the society. This role has had a demand as well as supply-oriented reflection on the tourism system. In the scope of this chapter, the role of ICTs in the changing social structure is explained through the lens of acculturation. Beyond this, the acculturative process on the modern community's tourism-oriented reflections caused by ICTs were discussed through nine components (renting over owning, free-of-charge ownership, narcissism, connected loneliness, social capital, multiple realities, new identities, novel values, enculturation), and predictions were made with a futuristic perspective. In this context, it was explicated that the ICT-oriented digital acculturation process would add the concepts alternative tourism types, soft mass tourism, sharing economy-based tourism system, intense offline interactions between host and guests, multicultural destinations, virtual reality-based leisure, sharing as a novel pushing motivation, virtual demonstration effect, and diaspora to the future tourism system.

Since the coronavirus pandemic hit Indonesia, tourists have become more careful when doing tourist activities. Natural or outdoor tourist destinations are assumed as safe and preferable destinations because they have the lowest risk of coronavirus transmission. One of the activities that can be done in natural or outdoor tourist destinations is camping. Using the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action) Model, this research was conducted to determine how much tourists are interested in camping, especially in South Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, as it has many natural tourist destinations with camping areas. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, frequency analysis techniques, and scoring analysis. Samples were taken using a stratified random sampling technique to 111 respondents. Respondents are tourists who know or have visited one of the three natural tourist destinations in South Bandung, used as samples, namely Mount Puntang, Ranca Upas, and Rancabali. The results show that tourists are quite interested in camping as an alternative tourism activity during the coronavirus pandemic. However, they have some limitations or prerequisites in visiting the camping area during these uncertain times.

This study aims to study the satisfaction of national tourists with the tourism experience in the Sahara. It also seeks to examine the influence this has on the intention to return and spread positive word-of-mouth about this destination, work on its improvement to capitalize on the internal mobilities induced by COVID-19, and build a long-term relationship with them to strengthen regional attachment. Data were collected from 123 national tourists in Algeria using convenience sampling. Two analyses were carried out to process the data: a structural equation modeling approach to test and validate the hypotheses and textual analysis. The results show that among the five factors determining the quality of the Sahara experience, four factors significantly influence the satisfaction of domestic tourists: The scenic environment, the personal environment, entertainment, and reliability. It is deduced that the niche and responsible character of Saharan tourism is the main thing that satisfies tourists and ensures the success of tourism in the Sahara.

The objective of this research is to fully understand the use of the Good Tourism Governance principles in the management of the tourist villages of the Kampung Lampion Code 18 in Yogyakarta. There was a negative perception of settlements around the Code river, Yogyakarta. They were considered to cause river water pollution, narrowing of rivers, sedimentation and flooding. Then, the community changed that perception. Together with the Non-Governmental Organization the Center for Civic Engagement & Studies and assisted by several university students, they turned the area into a tourist spot with the name Kampung Lampion Code 18. This is qualitative research with a descriptive method. Data analysis was applied at both the first step (data processing) and the second step (interpretation). The study results indicate that the management of Kampung Lampion Code 18 has tried to apply the principles of good tourism governance. However, its implementation has not been effective. Stakeholder synergy has not been realized, training programs have not been sustainable, the benefits of tourism have not been widely felt, have not encouraged local ownership, and promotion is still minimal. The limitations of this study are that it relies heavily on the researcher's interpretation of the interview data; therefore, the possibility of bias persists. However, this study suggests the need for Good Tourism Governance Principles if the village wants to compete as an alternative tourism destination. Kata kunci: good tourism governance, kampung wisata, dan Kampung Lampion Code 18

The impacts of mass tourism and COVID-19 crisis demonstrate the need for healthy, peaceful, and authentic recreation options, giving prominence to emerging destinations, such as remote Mediterranean islands. These, although endowed with exquisite land and underwater cultural heritage (UCH), are confronted with insularity drawbacks. However, the exceptional land and especially UCH, and the alternative tourism forms these can sustain, e.g., diving tourism, are highly acknowledged. The focus of this paper is on the power of participation and participatory planning in pursuing UCH preservation and sustainable management as a means for heritage-led local development in remote insular regions. Towards this end, the linkages between participation and (U)CH management from a policy perspective—i.e., the global and European policy scenery—and a conceptual one—cultural heritage cycle vs. planning cycle—are firstly explored. These, coupled with the potential offered by ICT-enabled participation, establish a framework for respective participatory cultural planning studies. This framework is validated in Leros Island, Greece, based on previous research conducted in this distinguishable insular territory and WWII battlefield scenery. The policy and conceptual considerations of this work, enriched by Leros evidence-based results, set the ground for featuring new, qualitative and extrovert, human-centric and heritage-led, developmental trails in remote insular communities.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the alternative strategy of developing local tourism around Borobudur, one of the world’s heritage as the top choice of foreign and domestic tourists, that focused on developing a variety of alternative tourism infrastructures while preserving the environment that is a millennial-friendly destination that is called Nomadic Tourism in Glamping De Loano, Purworejo, Indonesia. The research took place between June-July 2020 in Glamping De Loano, Purworejo. The chosen methods including documentation, observation, and interviews with local government groups, visitors, and residents.  Glamping De Loano is a new and fresh tourism sensation in Purworejo that can bring millennial tourists and new unique tourism experiences to the area. It is a new early-stage of destination because it has only been operated for less than a year but has many opportunities that can be cultivated and developed. However, most complaints coming from them are regarding narrow and dangerous road infrastructure towards the destination, supporting ecosystem readiness, and conformity of the biophilic material to the environment surrounding. Most interviewers suggest it would be better with improved road infrastructure construction and focus on providing a basic supporting ecosystem. Recommendations are made for developing the Glamping De Loano tourism better to improve the experience of tourists and visitors and to improve the resident’s quality of life. It is hoped that this research may prompt local authorities to take l residents’ perceptions and experiences into account by creating better management measures and regulations.
