The article substantiates the theoretical basis of the formation of the economic potential of processing enterprises of the agri-food sector, including the clarification of the “economic potential of processing enterprises of the agri-food sector” concept as a set of maximum capabilities of enterprises, due to their available resources for the efficient production of products, goods, works, services in order to meet the market needs taking into account the internal and external environment factors. Unlike the existing ones, this definition includes not only capabilities and resources, but also a specific result, which requires a systematic approach to its assessment. The scientific novelty of theoretical developments lies in a systematic approach to the analysis of the formation of the economic potential of processing enterprises of the agro-industrial complex from the perspective of “resources, maximum capabilities, result, assessment”.

Pharmacogenomic studies have revealed associations between rs1967309 in the adenylyl cyclase type 9 (ADCY9) gene and clinical responses to the cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) modulator dalcetrapib, however, the mechanism behind this interaction is still unknown. Here, we characterized selective signals at the locus associated with the pharmacogenomic response in human populations and we show that rs1967309 region exhibits signatures of positive selection in several human populations. Furthermore, we identified a variant in CETP, rs158477, which is in long-range linkage disequilibrium with rs1967309 in the Peruvian population. The signal is mainly seen in males, a sex-specific result that is replicated in the LIMAA cohort of over 3,400 Peruvians. Analyses of RNA-seq data further suggest an epistatic interaction on CETP expression levels between the two SNPs in multiple tissues, which also differs between males and females. We also detected interaction effects of the two SNPs with sex on cardiovascular phenotypes in the UK Biobank, in line with the sex-specific genotype associations found in Peruvians at these loci. We propose that ADCY9 and CETP coevolved during recent human evolution due to sex-specific selection, which points towards a biological link between dalcetrapib’s pharmacogene ADCY9 and its therapeutic target CETP.

Science does not belong to the scientist” and it is far from finding an end in itself. For researchers, it is necessary to disseminate their findings and share them with the wider community: an attitude that enriches both society and Science. In order for this to happen, it is necessary that scientific knowledge is disseminated through the use of simple vocabulary, direct and communicative language, and by using communication vehicles which are accessible to thegeneral population. Nevertheless, there is still some resistance to the use of social networks as a means of disseminating scientific works. This project aims to support the task of scientific dissemination by both seeking to reach different audiences andinstigating the academic community to be informed about and/or to participate in researches carried out by ISECENSA’s scientific initiation programs. Action research was the methodology chosen for this project because it has a critical-collaborative character and is attractive, once it leads to an immediate specific result: the construction of infographics and videos and their publication on social networks aiming to disseminate ISECENSA’s 2021/2022 research projects. In addition, the methodology includes the use of tools/applications that enable the generation of metrics for infographics posts and other media used for science dissemination. As a result, a special volume of the R&D Bulletin is expected to be published. It will register the scientific dissemination activities developed at ISECENSA during the year 2021, marking the holding of ISECENSA’s VI Research and Development Seminar and the VII Scientific Knowledge International Congress (VII CICC)

The polling system of «Polls» in Belgium is a typical process of the political life. Its purpose is to elaborate into the political parties the voting lists, either with internal polling processes, or by mecanisms of cooptation, or simply by choices corresponding to the establishment of the Belgian society. The pre-voting process seems to be relevant and adapted to the technique of the proportional repartition of votes between the lists of the parties. In fact, only several organizations of the Belgian Socialist Party utilize regularly this process for the structure of their lists of candidates before the legislature votes. It is a postulat of the political Democracy in Belgium of which the specific result is to reinforce the oligarchies.

Design computing is concerned with general conditions deriving a specific result. This is done through an explicit design of process. This results in a shift from design process to process design. Process design describes design through series of algorithms together forming a notion of an objectile – an incomplete general yet specific notation capable of generating a family of objects or object-states. In a practice that embraces process design, the creation of custom algorithmic tools (both virtual and actual) and the design of architectural objects, will be augmented with the design of architectural objectiles and object-states.

Mesotherapy is one of the minimally invasive methods that guarantee relatively quick and long-lasting effects. Its purpose can be considered on many levels, because the research conducted in this area points to more and more new applications for mesotherapy. This article presents skin areas that can be subjected to mesotherapy and examples of substances used to achieve a specific result. Currently, the most common reasons for people to take advantage of the procedure include: the progressive aging process, wrinkles, skin discoloration, acne scars, bruises under the eyes, flabbiness, dryness and loss of skin elasticity, lipodystrophy, stretch marks or excessive hair loss. For the effects of the treatment to be satisfactory and long-lasting, it is suggested to perform mesotherapy in series to maintain optimal skin condition.

Article proposes using weighting method named the Point Bonitation Method, a popular interdisciplinary method, especially in the tourism and socio-economic geography, for giving optional direction to further researching tsunami risk. This method qualifies and quantifies those factors that lead to natural disasters so that it is possible to make comparisons with their roles in disaster areas. This case study in Sri Lanka shows a specific result that is quantification of vulnerability by regions and can be used and developed locally for disaster risk management and reduction. This paper presents discussion about other possible reasons of high risk in regions.
