To this end, a qualitative research was carried out through a literature review, using the content analysis of the material found. Thus, it is noteworthy that the research follows a historical path of the suicidal phenomenon and the gestalt approach, in order to understand and discuss possible interventions in view of the imminence of the suicidal act. Furthermore, it is intended to reflect on the role of the Gestalt-therapist, facing this demand and how the person who attacks his own life is seen. That said, the role of the Gestalt-therapist with the management of suicide situations is highlighted, enabling an opening to listen to the death wish, acting in a way to carry out ethical, political and anthropological deviations, as well as welcoming the suffering of the consultants for the joint creation of new possibilities for the future beyond death. Therefore, the importance of the ethical-political commitment of the professional psychologist is highlighted in the face of the subject's suffering in the face of suicide. Keywords: Gestalt-Therapy; Suicide; Psychological clinic.

AbstractThis article emphasizes the importance of synchronization in changing patients’ dysfunctional patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to functional ones. Furthermore, the concept of synchronization in psychotherapy is delineated herein, showing its feasibility through the free energy principle. Most sync-oriented publications focus on the therapist-patient relationship. In contrast, this article is focusing on the therapeutic process, especially by analyzing how dysfunctional units—both in an individual’s mind, as well as in social relationships—assemble in synchrony and how psychotherapy helps to disassemble and replace them with functional units. As an example, Gestalt psychology and Gestalt psychotherapy are demonstrated through the lenses of synchronization, supported by diverse case studies. Finally, it is concluded that synchronization is opening a gateway to understanding the change dynamics in psychotherapy and, as such, is worth further study.

This article examines the influence of the assumptions of the phenomenological method on the shape of Gestalt psychotherapy. Therefore, a comparative analysis of the main ideas of Edmund Husserl’s  philosophy and the basic assumptions of Gestalt psychotherapy was performer. The strenght and importance of the underlying connections are indicated by both research methods used in Gestalt therapy: the directness of experiencem „suspedding” one’s own beliefs, horizontal description, and categories related to awareness: contact intentionality and „here and now” experience.

Physical trauma and treatment of its consequences basically lies in the domain of medical specialists. But we would hardly imagine that some physical injury may result in bodily impairment only. As a matter of fact, one encounters with a number of psychological consequences from restriction caused by pain to subtle changes in life situation and relationships. Thus, we can consider that patients with physical trauma consequences may be also successfully treated by psychologists. Micro-motion reactions restoration method (MRR) is suggested and described in the article. This method is based on the principle of micro-motion reactions differentiation. In our approach we are using the concept of “unfinished tasks” which originates from Gestalt therapy. The MRR method enables development of various multidirectional and contradictory impulses and reactions that had been temporarily stalled in the episode of past physical trauma. That type of work permits each unfinished motion impulse born during trauma to develop completely. As a result, trust in spontaneity of movement is restored and one’s resilience grows. Also three clinical cases are presented in the article to demonstrate the possibilities of using the MRR method in psychotherapeutic work.

Gestalt therapists believe that their task is to help their clients to experience repressed, ambivalent, and unpleasant things in order to accept and implement them in their whole self. To implement those ‘things’, those elements of the self, they need to be uncovered first, which is a process that often is achieved by dream work, as messages from the unconscious that are stuck in our dreams can be revealed by certain Gestalt-therapy methods. The method in focus is the newly developed DreamSenseMemory technique which is based on neurological findings on how the senses at play influence memory processing. Dream work with the DreamSenseMemory method has the advantage that by using this method on a regular basis, dream content will not only be remembered more often but also in more detail. Thus, effectively supporting dream work and its process of understanding the message of the unconscious, accepting the elements withing and implementing them in the self.

The purpose of this study is to describe the empty chair technique in gestalt therapy regarding: 1) the successful application of the empty chair technique, 2) the goal and setting of the empty chair technique, 3) the procedure and duration of empty chair technique therapy, 4) suggestions and recommendations about the empty chair technique. The research method of applying the empty chair technique in gestalt therapy was library research. The 14 journals would be grouped and summarized into a table into 4 focus discussions. The main focus in Gestalt counseling is to help individuals through their transition from a state that is always assisted by the environment to a state of self-sufficiency (self-support).
