This study is focused on entrepreneurship in community-based tourism (CBT) in Sri Lanka. It examines the effect of entrepreneurial competences and orientation towards the performance of homestays although the majority are not successful. Recent research has revealed that homestay tourism is not effective, nonetheless it has been identified as the sector for the development for entrepreneurs and can make a considerable contribution to the Sri Lankan economy. The purpose of this study is to enhance CBT by showing how to develop productive entrepreneurs in this sector. Resource based view (RBV) theory is the basis – 645 registered homestay units operate as a CBT practice and the study sample was 252 entrepreneurs. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyze the data. From the findings of the study, both entrepreneurial competences and orientation significantly affect entrepreneur performance in CBT. This study will help expand CBT for successful entrepreneurs emerging from the tourism sector.

During the interwar period, Prague was truly an academic capital of emigration. A unique scientific environment that formed therein a century ago was favorable for the study of Russian literature, including the ancient period. Among the philologists, who emigrated to Czechoslovakia, was Alfred Bem, known to modern science as a talented researcher of the works of Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Blok, Gumilyov and Mayakovsky. However, hardly anyone remembers Bem as Medievalist. The article analyzes the “Lectures” on the history of Old Russian literature (up to the mid XVII century) read to the students of Russian Pedagogical Institute named after Jan Amos Komenský in Prague in the winter semester of 1923 that have been nearly forgotten by now. These are the sheer bibliographic rarity. The circulation of this unique publication is small, just a few copies taken by duplicating machine from the typewritten original, which contains typos and corrections made by the author. “Lectures...” – a full textbook on the history of Russian literature of the XI – first half of the XVII centuries. A significant part of is dedicated to the “Tale of Bygone Years”. A. L. Bem’s view of the "Nestorian Chronicle” reflected in the Prague “Lectures...” is analyzed within the framework of studying the extensive historiographical topic of the “Research of Old Russian Literature in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s – 1930s”. This defines the novelty of this article. The conclusion is made that Alfred Bem made a considerable contribution to the study of the major Russian chronicle, provided in-depth and accurate characteristics to the “Tale of Bygone Years”, determining its historical and literary role. His contemplations on the genre and stylistic uniqueness of the “Tale” have subsequently found reflection in the works of Russian and foreign Medievalists. He also paid special attention to the history of the Corpus, thereby touching upon the question that is yet to be resolved.

Russian literature has had a massive impact upon the creative path of Lu Xun. The researchers of his prose (including sinologist and translator L. Z. Ėĭdlin, literary scholar L. D. Pozdneeva, writer and literary scholar Feng Xue Feng, and others.) oftentimes compared his texts with the works of Russian writers. Despite the fact that Lu Xun wrote poetry throughout his life, his poetic legacy is poorly studied. Comparative analysis is conducted on the poetry of Lu Xun and N. V. Gogol. It is noted that the poetry of both authors reflects their philosophical and cultural views. The similarity of the authors lies in the fact that each used the versification that is traditional for their culture. The content and shape of Gogol’s poetry is based on the Slavic folklore and Orthodox faith, while Lu Xun is one of the initiators of the “New Culture Movement” and is considered an innovator in the Chinese literature. He wrote prose and poetry not in Wenyan (classical Chinese), which was understood by the elite of Chinese society alone, but in Baihua (written vernacular Chinese), the new Chinese literary language. Therefore, Lu Xun made a considerable contribution to the creation of new poetry, and many Chinese literary scholars (Chang Tsao, 1962-2010, Zhu Ziqing, 1898-1948) consider him the founder of the modern versification in China. The article establishes the similarities and differences between the Russian syllabic-accentual verse poems and Chinese new poetry.

This article represents a polemical response to the critical of poly-civilizational research article by D. E. Letnyakov, who offers to shift away from the essentialist attitudes in the context of studying the phenomenon of civilization, and rather focus on the mechanisms of formation of civilizational identity. In contradiction of the aforementioned point of view, the author of this article argues the inferiority and one-sidedness of the attempts to limit the multi-paradigm vector of research to a single methodological approach, substantiates the philosophical grounds of such multi-paradigmality, and on the example of gender studies, indicates the discrepancies that emerge due to neglecting the essential approach by the researchers. The subject of this article is the methodology of civilizational research. The author does not intent to refute the provisions of social constructivism completely, since its adherents made a considerable contribution to social knowledge, but rather demonstrate that in a number of multi-paradigm vectors (to which civilizational research belong to), this methodological approach cannot be limited to just one. It is substantiated that for philosophy, the criticism of civilizational theory from the perspective of social constructivism, is the phenomenon similar to refutation of Lobachevsky’s geometry from the standpoint of Euclidean geometry, or the laws of quantum mechanics based on the Newton laws. These are different worlds, different set of coordinates, with fundamentally different laws effective therein.

The entire world faced the corona crisis recently, still undergoing it. The world merely is seeing through it as a pandemic and is connecting it to a kind of viral infection invading the human community. The whole of the health machinery got paralyzed fighting the pandemic leading to millions of deaths around the globe. Moreover, the ad- vanced modern system of medicine was almost helpless in combating the virus-related hazards to human health. At this time, the considerable contribution was provided by the Ayurveda, our ancient traditional system of medi- cine. If we see the ayurvedic literature, the concept of Janpadodhwamsa provides answers to the mystery behind the fatal covid virus. The paper aims to provide a view about the Janpadodhwamsa which states various factors relating to the pandemic, the root cause of such events and the remedial measures for it. The purpose of the article is to establish the contribution of the opera singer and famous tenor Modest Omelianovych Mentsynskyi to Ukrainian and world music art. The methodology is based on using historical, biographical, and analytical methods, which allows distinguishing and reviewing the special features of the Ukrainian singer‘s ―internationally universal‖ performance style as well as tracking the stages of his creative evolution. The scientific novelty of the research is in the affirmation that the artist‘s work within the mentioned period, on the one hand, led to the ―Europeanization‖ of the Ukrainian music culture, which influenced the formation of the national vocal and opera school, and, on the other hand, his high vocal level and popularization of the Ukrainian music in the walls of numerous European theaters promoted the popularization of the Ukrainian music culture in the world. Conclusions. Relying on the achievements of the three most famous opera schools (Italian, German and French) and his own experience, the signer formed the ―internationally universal‖ performance style, which helped him make a considerable contribution to the development of opera art in at least three countries: Germany (as the most prominent singer of Wagner‘s plays with a vocal role of a ―heroic tenor‖), Sweden (as a performer and pedagogue who stood at the origins of the vocal school in this country) and Ukraine (as a talented interpreter of the Ukrainian chamber repertoire and popularizer of the national music heritage in the world).

Earthquake is that the one of the main disaster better-known to mankind since a few years, there has been a considerable contribution from earthquake engineers for the protection of the structure. one amongst the alternatives to reduce the harm caused due to the earthquake is adopting steel bracings within the structure. These members is used within the building as a horizontal load resisting system to enhance the stiffness of the frame for seismic forces. this study is based on analysis of RC framed G+20 storey structure with steel braces using ETABS software. This study is conducted to know the behaviour of the various bracing system for different direction of the building. The building is situated in ZONE 5. The performance of building is studied in terms of Base shear, Base moment, Storey shear, Storey moment, Maximum displacement, Drift. The results of the analysis are compared and it was found that the seismal behavior of braced framed building is improved as compared to unbraced framed building. it had been also found that the various arrangements of bracing systems have great influence on seismic performance of the building. In this study considering the shape irregularity, mass irregularity.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the contribution of the board's gender diversity compared to its other characteristics in limitation earnings manipulation in the banks. The empirical study carried out on Tunisian banks over a period extending from 2001 to 2019, using the Panel-Corrected Standard Errors, allowed us to show that board gender diversity, turns out in this study of a considerable contribution to the board of directors composition since it has moderated accounting manipulation to avoid losses. As for the board independence, it has reduced earnings manipulation measured by the abnormal provisions. However, it turns out that board size and board duality does not have a significant effect on earnings manipulation.
