This article represents a polemical response to the critical of poly-civilizational research article by D. E. Letnyakov, who offers to shift away from the essentialist attitudes in the context of studying the phenomenon of civilization, and rather focus on the mechanisms of formation of civilizational identity. In contradiction of the aforementioned point of view, the author of this article argues the inferiority and one-sidedness of the attempts to limit the multi-paradigm vector of research to a single methodological approach, substantiates the philosophical grounds of such multi-paradigmality, and on the example of gender studies, indicates the discrepancies that emerge due to neglecting the essential approach by the researchers. The subject of this article is the methodology of civilizational research. The author does not intent to refute the provisions of social constructivism completely, since its adherents made a considerable contribution to social knowledge, but rather demonstrate that in a number of multi-paradigm vectors (to which civilizational research belong to), this methodological approach cannot be limited to just one. It is substantiated that for philosophy, the criticism of civilizational theory from the perspective of social constructivism, is the phenomenon similar to refutation of Lobachevsky’s geometry from the standpoint of Euclidean geometry, or the laws of quantum mechanics based on the Newton laws. These are different worlds, different set of coordinates, with fundamentally different laws effective therein.

In my study, I list the directions of migration research, all from the point of view of public administration science. The emergence of migration research as an independent field is necessitated by the growth of migration. Researchers are researching the phenomenon of migration from their own field. Public administration uses a multidisciplinary, i.e. methodological approach of several disciplines, all of which is determined by the knowledge and nature of the subject of the given research. In the following, I review and evaluate the methodological directions of the research, which can provide an answer to a segment of the phenomenon of migration. The study gives an insight into research methods for migration research. It is not intended to present specific examples and procedures. At the end of the study, in possible directions, beyond the science of public administration, I list the organizations and faculties that are able to use the methodology of migration research.

Ecological evaluation of some land reclamation tecniques: a methodological approach Abstract The study of land reclamation is now intensive in Brazil, mainly in relation to the rehabilitation process. Usually, the methodology utilised are based in theory and combine different aspects: environment response and philosophical point of view from different work groups. Then, the environment results obtained are diverse and difficult to be compared. The subject of this study is to suggest new ways to evaluate the conservation efficacy of a variable used in land reclamation projects. We suggest the utilisation of a spontaneous establishment of plants, as a biological indicator in the environmental recovery of degraded area. The idea was constructed with results obtained in a land reclamation area since 1993, in which an average of 13m of soil profile was removed.

A large number of investigations have been carried out on the motion of charged particles through gases, and the subject has received added impetus from the introduction of quantum mechanics, as this theory is capable of dealing with collision phenomena in a manner that was beyond the reach of Bohr’s quantum theory. In the early days of the wave theory, many experiments were devised with a view to testing the validity of the theory; but now the foundations of quantum mechanics have been so firmly laid that we may use the theory to clarify the more complicated phenomena observed in the passage of charged particles through gases. Both from the experimental and theoretical point of view the most convenient particles to study are electrons; and, as a consequence, the phenomena observed in the collisions of electrons with gas molecules are well known and to a large extent understood. Well-marked diffraction phenomena have been observed and the relative probabilities of elastic and inelastic collisions measured for a number of gases. Although detailed theoretical explanations have not always been given, it is possible in nearly all cases to give a general description of the main processes contributing to the observed effects. For example, the Ramsauer effect is now completely explained.

Engel and Stäckel in their Theorie der Parallellinien von Euklid bis auf Gauss (1895) call attention to the fact that Saccheri and Lambert have used in their argument the property of the triangle that the external angle is greater than either of the interior and opposite angles (Euc. I. 16), which is not true for triangles of all magnitudes when the hypothesis of the obtuse angle holds good. They do not show how starting from the point of view of Saccheri and Lambert the proofs should be amended so that they would be valid in the Elliptic Plane. Bonola (Non-Euclidean Geometry, translated by Carslaw, 1912, p. 31) in his account of the subject also uses Euc. I. 16. It is the object of this paper to obtain the main results proved by Saccheri and Lambert when the hypothesis of the obtuse angle holds without using Euc. I. 16. It is not suggested that this is a convenient method of procedure but it may perhaps have some historical interest. The key to the procedure here adopted is found in the reversal of the Euclidean order in a certain group of propositions, viz. I. 16, 18, 19, 20.

The book Kautilya Arthashastra written in Sanskrit language before 2500 year in India, discuss theories and principles of governing a state. The treatise deals thoroughly with statecraft, economics, espionage, administration, war, science, ecology and various other aspects pertaining to human living. The subject of research of the article is analytical part of the agriculture and economic development of Nepal as compared with the Kautilya Arthashastra. The goal is to develop proper management of that tools where the improvement institutionally and structurally in agriculture sector. The overall objective of this study is the entire parts of Kautilya Arthashastra, the bases for the economic development from the agricultural development has been selected, and comparative study is done with the present agriculture and economic development of Nepal along with reviewing its compatibility has been evaluated. The method of study is the descriptive and analytical in nature. The analytical tool has depends on the conceptual and development frame works and descriptive research design has been applied by quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of the study is the base of economic development is development of agriculture sector is important in Kautilya Arthashastra and is still equally important in Nepal. While comparing today with Kautilya Arthashastra, he has also mentioned that production is impossible without the development of agricultural sector and life is not happy without agriculture production and that is important from theoretical and practical point of view. This research article is conclude that the agriculture development was the backbone of yesterday, today and it will equally for tomorrow for economic development, only dimensions can differ in that.

When I had the honour of being asked by the Council of the Royal Society to give the following address, I chose the subject partly because it had been brought under the notice of the fellows by my predecessor, Professor Kelland. His memoir was written comparatively early in the history of the subject; and he seems to have been but little acquainted with what others had done even up to the time at which he wrote. Accordingly, although the subject is treated very ably in his paper, it is treated from only one point of view; and, indeed, one side of it is left out of sight altogether. The relation of the whole theory to the question of the origin and mutual independence of the axioms of geometry has been made much clearer of late, and I believed that some account of the more modern views might be of interest.

SummaryIn the Marinelli chair, a geometry widely used in whole body counting, the lower part of the leg is seen quite inefficiently by the detector. The present paper describes an attempt to modify the standard chair geometry to minimise this limitation. The subject sits crossed-legged in the “Buddha Posture” in the standard chair. Studies with humanoid phantoms and a volunteer sitting in the Buddha posture show that this modification brings marked improvement over the Marinelli chair both from the point of view of sensitivity and uniformity of spatial response.

The article presents a methodological approach to studying iterative processes in the school course of geometry, by the example of constructing a Koch snowflake fractal curve and calculating a few characteristics of it. The interactive creative environment 1C:MathKit is chosen to visualize the method discussed. By performing repetitive constructions and algebraic calculations using ICT tools, students acquire a steady skill of work with geometric objects of various levels of complexity, comprehend the possibilities of mathematical interpretation of iterative processes in practice, and learn how to understand the dialectical unity between finite and infinite parameters of flat geometric figures. When students are getting familiar with such contradictory concepts and categories, that replenishes their experience of worldview comprehension of the subject areas they study through the concept of “big ideas”. The latter allows them to take a fresh look at the processes in the world around. The article is a matter of interest to schoolteachers of computer science and mathematics, as well as university scholars who teach the course “Concepts of modern natural sciences”.
