This paper presents research on the development of pyrotechnic compositions producing an acoustic effect. These types of compositions are used in firecrackers to imitate a cannon shot—they are most frequently used during military exercises. The research was based on a mathematical model of an experiment. For environmental reasons, the replacement of the harmful oxidant Ba(NO3)2 by KClO4 and NH4ClO4 was modelled. The compositions were tested for reliability and evaluated in terms of friction sensitivity and burning rate. This allowed for the verification of the effectiveness of the modelling carried out. Optimum compositions were selected for further research.

Abstract The new products provided by the development of information technology (scanners, barcodes, RFIDs, etc.) can currently provide methods and techniques towards achieving important savings in terms of management of logistical support of military units, especially in terms of efficiency in providing material goods to combat forces that are preparing and training through military exercises. I set out to make an “x-ray” of this way of improving the logistical support, especially through the method of identification by labels that use radiofrequency (Radio Frequency Identification/RFID).

This paper presents benefits from using suborbital rockets in safety & defense applications. The paper describes suborbital rockets and their contribution to modern science, research and technology development. A historical view of suborbital rockets and their applications in safety & defense roles is discussed. Chosen research & development activities, military exercises and air defense systems’ tests performed using suborbital rockets in various countries are listed and described based on a literature review of publicly available sources. The paper presents capabilities of Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation in the field of suborbital rockets. A development of ILR-33 AMBER 2K rocket reaching flight speeds over Mach 4 and optimized to reach 100 km altitude is described with comment regarding its applicability in safety & defense applications supported by flight simulations.

Significance The ministers agreed that hostile rhetoric on both sides was unhelpful and that dialogue was essential. The phone call is an attempt to salvage a relationship that has gone badly wrong over the last month. Military exercises in each country have unnerved the other, and old and new grievances have been aired. Impacts Azerbaijan will push harder for a land corridor though Armenia, as it can no longer safely rely on Iranian transit to Nakhichevan. The opening of a Russia-Iran transport corridor traversing Azerbaijan may face further delays Iran-Georgia ties may deteriorate after Tbilisi imposed travel restrictions on Iranian nationals.

Significance In reality, the two armies remain separate because of Lukashenka's past opposition to hosting Russian troops permanently, though, as he noted, they are poised to collaborate in any conflict situation. This cooperation was showcased in the Zapad-2021 military exercises held on September 10-16 which combined training, demonstrations of military capability and political signalling. Impacts Conclusions drawn from Zapad-2021 will further expand Russian-Belarusian military cooperation, though not to the extent sought by Moscow. Lukashenka says Belarus will soon receive Russian fighter jets, helicopters and air defence systems. Zapad-2021 showcased Russia's desire to engage with foreign militaries: Indian troops participated while China and Pakistan sent observers.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is the largest regional origination in which Russia and China are founding members and recently Iran’s bid for full membership has been approved during the 21st summit of the SCO. These countries are against American hegemony and covertly and overtly demonstrate their concerns. SCO has been conducting military exercises regularly since 2002. Improving Strategic partnership between China and Russia, the presence of Iran, and military exercises of the SCO are matters of concern for the West. Some western scholars labeled it as “NATO of the East” and assessed it as an emerging military bloc. According to official documents and statements, SCO is a political and security organization based on cooperation and partnership and follows a non-interference policy. Does SCO contain components of a military alliance? Is SCO a military bloc or on the way to becoming in the future? This paper evaluates the SCO according to the theoretical concept of a military alliance besides comparative analysis of the SCO with NATO.

The article describes the politico-military situation in the Arctic, including the development of military capabilities of states in the region, the coastal infrastructure, the scales and the manner of military exercises, as well as the dynamics of the military landscape in the Arctic. The authors argue that the mili-tary capabilities in most parts of the Arctic remain moderate, primarily due to harsh climate restraints. However, military activity both of NATO member-states and Russia has increased considerably recently in the Euro-Arctic area adjacent to the North Atlantic, in particular in the waters of the Barents and the Nor-wegian seas. Mutual military deterrence in this area represents a "new old" normal that will shape the security situation in the Arctic in the long term. The article concludes by considering possible options for preventing escalation and minimizing the concerns of the sides by restoring a full, regular and institutionalized military dialogue between Russia and the rest of the Arctic states.

By using literature method and mathematical statistics method and reading the Wushu literature of the Republic of China, the transformation process of Wushu sports is sorted out. Under the background of internal and external troubles and “Western learning”, Wushu is regarded as a representative of local sports, with high expectations for a rich country and a strong country. Under the influence of “the dispute between preservation and abolishment of military exercises” and “the Rivalry between Traditional Chinese and Western Sports”, Chinese people learned from the development of western sports culture and improved Wushu, and appeared the “Wushu gymnastics”, which is an active exploration of Wushu sports experiencing the transformation process from gymnastics to sports. The establishment of Wushu research institutions and publications has accelerated the scientific and educational progress of Wushu, and laid a solid foundation for the development of Wushu sports.
