Background With the integration of COVID-19 into our lives, the way events are organized has changed. The Cerrahpaşa Neuroscience Days held on May 8-9, 2021, was one of the conferences that was affected. The annual conference of the student-based Cerrahpaşa Neuroscience Society transitioned to the internet for the first time and had the premise of going international. Objective With this study, we aim to both discuss how a virtual conference is organized and perceived, and where our conference stands within the literature as a completely student-organized event. Methods The conference was planned in accordance with virtual standards and promoted to primarily medical schools. During the execution, there were no major issues. The feedback was collected via a form developed with Google Forms. Results Out of 2195 registrations, 299 qualified to receive a certificate. The feedback forms revealed a general satisfaction; the overall quality of the event was rated an average of 4.6 out of 5, and the ratings of various Likert scale–based questions were statistically analyzed. Open-ended questions provided improvement suggestions for future events. Conclusions The virtual Cerrahpaşa Neuroscience Days was a success in organization and received positive feedback from the participants. We aim to ground future events on this experience.

Objective: This paper examines the experiences of music therapy students throughout their clinical training. Three surveys inquired about: 1) the perception from both interns and supervisors as to interns’ needs, 2) interns’ preparedness, their skills, their priorities when choosing an internship, and whether their expectations for training were met (with comparisons between American and International respondents), and 3) satisfaction with clinical training. Method: Three separate surveys were distributed. The first survey’s respondents included pre-interns ( n = 19) and internship supervisors (n = 14) who had completed their training in the Great Lakes Region of the United States. The second survey’s respondents included American interns (n = 50), American professionals (n = 353), International interns (n = 12), and International professionals (n = 50). Respondents for the third survey included professional music therapists who completed their curriculum in the United States and held the MT-BC professional credential (N = 777). Results: Some differences between interns’ and supervisors’ perceptions of the interns’ needs were found in Survey 1; significant differences were found between the preparedness and strengths/weaknesses between groups in Survey 2; and Survey 3 found general satisfaction with training with some areas respondents felt needed improvement. Conclusions: While there is overall satisfaction with training for music therapists, there are inconsistencies in students’ experiences in, and perceptions of, their training.

Objective: Erectile dysfunction (ED) following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is an important problem. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of and patient satisfaction with intracavernosal alprostadil used in the treatment of ED. Material and Methods: Patients using intracavernosal alprostadil in the treatment of ED following RARP were assessed retrospectively. Patients’ demographic characteristics, pre- and postoperative International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) scores, and general satisfaction evaluated using questions 13 and 14 of the IIEF form were all recorded. Complications developing during treatment, dosages used, and reasons for discontinuation were investigated. Results: Thirty-four patients with a mean age of 61.73±5.80 years were included in the study. Preoperative ED was determined in 52.9% (n=18) of patients. The mean IEFF of the patients who used preoperative, postoperative 1st month, postoperative 3 months after tadalafil use and intracavernosal alprostadil was 20.64 ± 3.46, 15.08 ± 2.09, 15.32 ± 2.18, 26.67 ± 2.30, respectively. The mean length of use of intracavernosal alprostadil was 8.20±2.48 months, and full erection was achieved in 70.58% of patients. Hematoma associated with intracavernosal alprostadil use developed in 2.9% of patients, ecchymosis in 8.8%, and pain in 8.8%. In addition, 73.5% of patients continued to take their medication during the follow-up process. Patients’ general satisfaction following alprostadil therapy was statistically significantly high. Conclusion: Intracavernosal alprostadil therapy following RARP represents a good therapeutic option due to its high success in achieving full erection, low complication rates, and high patient satisfaction. Keywords: erectile dysfunction, Alprostadil, robot-assisted radical prostatectomy

Introduction: Patient satisfaction represents an essential indicator of the quality of care in the medical recuperation sector. This study aimed to identify the degree of satisfaction in patients who benefit from medical recuperation services in one private clinic from Romania and the factors that played a part in this respect. Method: An online questionnaire was completed by 105 patients of a private clinic in the period immediately following the opening of the clinic after the quarantine period due to COVID-19. The following concepts were measured: general satisfaction with clinical recuperation services (SG), physician’s behavior (PB), the impact of interventions on the state of health (IHI), modern equipment (ME), and the intention to return to the clinic (IRC). Based on a linear regression model, the impact of PB, IHI, ME, and IRC variables on general satisfaction (SG) was established. Results: The study results confirm the data from studies carried out in different sociocultural contexts in ordinary time, where physician behavior is the most crucial factor in patients’ satisfaction. Therefore, we can say that the physiotherapist’s behavior has an essential role in determining the patients’ satisfaction both in ordinary time and in COVID-19 time. The data in this study reflect the fact that satisfaction with the services offered by a medical recuperation clinic is a predictor for using the services in the future. Still, our study reflects a moderate relationship in intensity.

Abstract Background Hymenoplasty is one of the least described vulvovaginal procedures in plastic surgery without any surgical standard that attempts to restore the hymen’s ability to bleed during sexual intercourse on a couple’s wedding night. Objectives The objective of this study is to report outcomes from a Moroccan retrospective study of a series of 529 patients who underwent either a hymenorrhaphy or a hymenoplasty. Methods This was a retrospective study of 529 patients who underwent hymen restoration at a center in Morocco between April 2010 and April 2019. The data were collected according to the requirements of the center through preoperative and postoperative consultations, presential or phone post-coital interviews. The procedure consisted of suturing the edges of the hymen remnants using Vicryl 5-0, leaving a small opening in the newly reconstructed hymen. Two techniques – Hymenal Flap Hymenoplasty (HLH) and Vaginal Flap Hymenoplasty (HLV) – are used depending on the presence or absence of hymen remnants. Results A total of 529 patients were underwent hymen restoration, including 42% hymenorrhaphies, 58% hymenoplasties, 39% HLH, and 19% HLV. The mean age of the patients was 32 years. Of the 227 women who underwent a hymenorrhaphy, no failure was reported, and all the patients who had sexual intercourse within 15 days of the procedure experienced vaginal bleeding. Of the 99 hymenoplasties using vaginal flaps, only one failure was reported. Conclusions The techniques used in our cohort are safer and the complications are minor with general satisfaction of patients.
