There are many people in this world who don’t have the ability to communicate with others due to some unforeseen accident. User’s who are paralyzed and/or suffering from different Motor Neuron Diseases (MND) like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Primary Lateral Sclerosis etc, by making them more independent. Patients suffering from these diseases are not able to move their arms and legs, lose their body balance and the ability to speak. Here we propose an IoT based communication controller using the concept of Morse Code Technology which controls the smartphone of the user. This paper proposes a solution to give the user ability to communicate to other people using machine as an intermediator. The device will require minimal inputs from the user.

This research focuses on a solution to assist elderly and limited-mobility people. It aims to improve the autonomy, and, consequently, the quality of life of this target audience by automating daily tasks conducted at home, such as turning on the lights and manipulating electronic devices. However, it is important to consider the costs and quality attributes (e.g., usability) related to the design of solutions to automate a specific environment, that may include hardware platforms and physical adaptations. In this context, the authors present in this chapter the software requirements discovery and elicitation of a home automation app considering the real needs of the elderly and limited-mobility people. Additionally, we conduct the requirements specification using the unified modeling language (UML) to improve completeness, along with graphical user interface (GUI) prototypes. Finally, we present a mobile app prototype using the Android and Arduino platforms to illustrate a use scenario of the solution.

The last decade has been marked by large-scale and rapid changes in education, taking place on the basis of modern infocommunication and digital technologies, new hardware and software, as well as teaching methods updated in accordance with this. The limited mobility of citizens due to the coronavirus pandemic further intensified these processes, when, even with a low readiness of educational institutions to switch to distance (electronic, remote) technologies, teachers and students had to quickly master these technologies and use them in practice. The resulting experience allows us to identify not only problematic, sometimes even negative, features of distance learning, but also to make sure of the undoubted advantages of these technologies. The article points out the need for a systematic analysis when deciding on the use of e-learning, taking into account both technical and methodological, as well as personnel readiness for the implementation of this technology.The article analyzes these problems using the example of teaching both technical and humanitarian disciplines. The experience of distance work is analyzed on the example of cooperation between the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (Russia) and the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), which in its practical activities purposefully invites foreign professors to deliver lectures, guide undergraduates, etc., including those based on distance technology. The data of an anonymous questionnaire survey of students of these universities are given, allowing to assess the effectiveness of the decisions made, as well as to clarify the existing problems.

An agile supply chain is important in a struggling post-COVID-19 economy to manage costs and to respond to customer demand. And, the ability to react rapidly is the key to satisfying customer demand. Supply chains, their re-organisation as platform-mediated ecosystems, are now primed for their biggest change yet. The Platform refers to a technology that allows open interaction between market players, such as producers and consumers. A digitised supply chain also provides opportunities for completely new revenue models beyond the redesign of processes. Specifically, a whole range of modern business models are able to monitor a product past the handover to the consumer, and on to actual use. The aim of this chapter is to explain the complexities of the supply chain during the age of COVID-19, which contributed to an improvement in social value for consumers, especially in digitizing the process. This paper is inspired by several sources, such as Deloitte Insight released at the end of 2020, which raises the future of mobility after the COVID-19 pandemic (Corwin, Zarif, Berdichevskiy and Pankratz, 2020). Corwin et al (2020) mention the term ecosystem when describing the reality of mobility during a pandemic. Viswanadham and Samvedi (2013), on the other hand, define the supply chain ecosystem as the elements of the supply chain as well as the entities that control the movement of goods, knowledge, and money across the supply chain. Today’s supply chains, as the final frontier, are being re-architected as environments coordinated by central networks. In this chapter, there are a numbers of case study about limited mobility during a pandemic that triggers service providers to search for innovative ways to survive. Second, with regard to numerous parties promoting increasingly large online shopping activities and enabling the home business sector to be easier and easier to enter the community, this is what is known as consumer social value. This case study will be taken from a variety of Asian countries, one of which is Indonesia. Third, the next challenge facing businesses in managing supply chains will raise the social value of consumers, especially when the pandemic ends.

<p class="abstract">A 28 year old woman had a history of knee trauma and presented with unilateral knee acute swelling and pain symptoms with sudden onset, which was there from last 2 years. She had been treated for seronegative rheumatoid patient for 1 year. Recent expansion of the LPVNS (localized pigmented villonodular synovitis) caused the development of a tender palpable soft tissue mass in the anterolateral aspect of the knee and acute reduced mobility. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging of the knee revealed the presence of only the soft tissue mass and mild degenerative changes. Open synovectomy was performed successfully to excise the mass. Intraoperatively, macroscopic features of the bright brown inflamed synovium suggested LPVNS, which was confirmed histopathologically. Postoperatively, the symptoms of limited mobility and pain were appreciably relieved. Recurrence was not observed during the clinical follow up at 1, 6 or 18 months after surgery. Here, we reported the unique case of localized pigmented villonodular synovitis of the knee in a misdiagnosed patient with intra and extraarticular lesion, which might be attributed to the history of knee trauma and the focal defect of the lateral patellar retinaculum. Open synovectomy effectively relieved the symptoms of limited mobility and pain and no recurrence was observed prior to 18 months postoperatively. To reduce misdiagnosis, MRI examinations are recommended for all patients suspected of having PVNS, including those who have a history of hyperuricemia.</p>

The article describes the results of five years of research in the development and creation of computer mathematical models of socio-economic systems using GIS technologies within the framework of two RFBR grants, which were directed by V.V. Slavsky. The first part describes the results of the development and creation of an interactive socially-oriented geographic information system designed to obtain information about social infrastructure facilities aimed at meeting the needs of people with limited mobility and people with disabilities. The second part describes the results of the development and creation of an interactive agent-based dynamic model of socio-economic processes (transport, production, demographic, etc.), using GIS technologies on the example of Khanty-Mansiysk.

Background: Progressive mobility in the ICU has been recommended; however, the definitions of low, moderate, and high mobility in the ICU still diverge between studies. Therefore, our objective was to classify the mobility of the sample from verticalization and active withdrawal from the bed, and from that, to analyze the chances of discharge, death, and readmission to the ICU. Materials and methods: This is an observational and retrospective study that consults the medical records of individuals admitted to the ICU of the University Hospital of Sergipe (HU/SE) between August 2017 and August 2018. Mobility level was classified based on the Intensive Care Unit Mobility Scale (IMS). Results: A total of 121 individuals were included. The mean age was 61.45 ± 16.45, being 53.7% female. Of these, 28 (23.1%) had low mobility, 33 (27.3%) had moderate mobility, and 60 (49.6%) had high mobility. Individuals with low mobility were 45 times more likely to die (OR = 45.3; 95% CI = 3.23–636.3) and 88 times less likely to be discharged from the ICU (OR = 0.22; 95% CI = 0.002–0.30). Conclusion: Those who evolved with low mobility had a higher chance of death and a lower chance of discharge from the ICU. Moderate and high mobility were not associated with the investigated outcomes.
