With its original manifestation generally dated to c. 150 BC, the Invitation to the Dance is a textbook example of Hellenistic sculpture. But despite much scholarly attention there is still no consensus as to what motif the sculpture group depicts. Inspired by intertextual theory, this study catalogues and re-examines 35 sculptures of the female figure and 34 sculptures of the satyr. The article focuses on preserved sculptures, rather than a reconstructed model image. Variations of the repeated forms are highlighted as significant for the interpretation of the types. The reading of the Invitation to the Dance thus put forward suggests that the group composition displays the moment after the satyr has pulled the female’s garment down from her upper body. It is furthermore emphasized that both satyr and female figure were at times—perhaps even predominately—displayed as solitary figures. The satyr’s foot-clapper is suggested to have been included primarily in instances where the satyr was displayed on his own. Sculptures of the female figure fending off —though not touching—an intrusive companion could have been paired with other Dionysian figures as well, a practice that might be reflected in sculptures that show this female type in other group compositions.

This article aims to study the influencing relationship of self-image of the teacher on learners. It reveals the teacher’s ways of presenting himself to learners inside and outside the classroom, and through parallel activities. These activities create a model image (ideal ethos) that pushes many learners to abandon previous study orientations chosen by themselves, by their parents or by the guidance department in educational institutions. They also make them highly motivated to learn as a result of the positive impact that the teacher creates in a given specialty or subject. The teacher in this context is not only providing lessons, he is also a mentor, a social assistant, and psychotherapist who enhances the sense of the educated self, gives it hope and confidence, and encourages it to achieve its desired goal. Therefore, the learner seeks as a result the prestigious position in society that psychologists define as the highest human goal that makes an individual someone who has integrity and is beneficial to himself and to others. To conclude, the teacher plays an important role in charting the learners’ path towards specific trends as a result of the picture he draws for them, based on his academic or professional career or as a result of the way he works with them in the classroom. Indeed, the innovative and creative ways sets every teacher apart from other teachers. Keywords: Ethos, Teacher, Argumentation, Learner.

A naturalist is someone who studies the patterns of nature identify different kingdom of flora and fauna in the nature. Being able to identify the flora and fauna around us often leads to an interest in protecting wild species, collecting and sharing information about the species we see on our travels is very useful for conserving groups like NCC. Deep-learning based techniques and methods are becoming popular in digital naturalist studies, as their performance is superior in image analysis fields, such as object detection, image classification, and semantic segmentation. Deep-learning techniques have achieved state of-the -art performance for automatic segmentation of digital naturalist through multi-model image sensing. Our task as naturalist has grown widely in the field of natural-historians. It has increased from identification to saviours as well. Not only identifying flora and fauna but also to know about their habits, habitats, living and grouping lead to fetching services for protection as well.

Commercial unmanned aerial vehicles continue to gain popularity and their use for collecting image data and recording new phenomena is becoming more frequent. This study presents an effective method for measuring the concentration of fluorescent dyes (fluorescein and Rhodamine WT) for the purpose of providing a mathematical dispersion model. Image data obtained using a typical visible-light camera was used to measure the concentration of the dye floating on water. The reference measurement was taken using a laboratory fluorometer. The article presents the details of three extensive measurement sessions and presents elements of a newly developed method for measuring fluorescent tracer concentrations. The said method provides tracer concentration maps presented on the example of an orthophoto within a 2 × 2 m discrete grid.

PurposeThe objective of this study was to examine the effects of human model backgrounds (concrete backgrounds vs. solid backgrounds) on consumer responses (attention and attitude) and to determine the mechanism and boundary conditions behind such effects.Design/methodology/approachThe research consisted of one eye-tracking experiment and two experimental studies.FindingsThe results showed that consumers notice faster and pay more attention to the central figure against solid backgrounds. However, concrete backgrounds elicit more favorable attitudes toward products, and mental imagery mediates the effects of image backgrounds on consumers' attitudes. The authors also found that the situation moderates the relationship between image background and attitude.Originality/valueThe study also supplements the literature on the effects of image backgrounds on consumer responses and the literature on online presentation using human models. Last, the study combines questionnaires with an eye-tracking experiment to obtain a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of the results.

The article presents a model for the implementation of the system for the development of the teacher's professional image, which is a system consisting of separate, interconnected elements, which ensures the integrity of the process of developing the teacher's professional image. In the article, an important point of approbation of the model proposed by the author, the introduction of hypothetically predictable pedagogical conditions is presented. The article presents a specially organized empirical study in order to clarify the relevance of the theoretical conclusions.
