The article presents data on 11 biological and economical traits of 100 mother vines of the ‘Kokur Belyi’ for the period of 2019-2021. The research was carried out at the production plot of the ‘Kokur Belyi’ grape variety (No. 361, AZOS-1 pruning, planting scheme 3 × 1.25) in the Alushta branch of FSUE PJSC Massandra. According to the average of indicators for three years of research using method of multicriteria optimization, we selected 25 protoclones of the ‘Kokur Belyi’ variety (protoclones of the first vegetative voltine) with the lowest function indicators in the range from φ = 3.330 to φ = 6.103. The choice of the best bush was determined from the conditions of the closest approximation to the ideal, i.e. interval [φ(x); x]→min. Therefore, the smaller the value of the protoclone function φ(x), the better the bush. Target function values for 100 bushes were compared, after that protoclones were separated by the lowest indicators, determining the best bushes. The use of multicriteria optimization method provides an objective approach to the selection of protoclones, excluding the units of measurement of the studied characteristics, converting them into a nondimensional form. For further research, from the selected 25 bushes of grapes of the ‘Kokur Belyi’ variety, vines will be gathered for table grafting, followed by the establishment of a clone-testing plot of the first vegetative voltine of the ‘Kokur Belyi’ variety.

Abstract This article examines the transport sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is noted that transport does not produce tangible products, but, despite this, the production of transport is measured by the transport work performed - cargo turnover and passenger turnover. Accordingly, they are to some extent the units of measurement of this system. The transport system of the state plays a primary role in all its socio-economic spheres.

Abstract The researched truss of the Gothic Church of St. Bartholomew in the village of Mladočov is one of the examples of the use of the historical Czech length units of measurement; in this case, the Gothic and Baroque part of it. At the same time, it analyzes the proportional relationships between the individual elements of the truss. The structural analysis in relation to current standards points to the fact that the original design of the structure based on geometrical and proportional principles satisfy the reliability conditions defined by current European standards for structural design.

This study explored pre-service teachers’ previous knowledge on the measurement of some basic quantities and how they are applied in real life situations. A quantitative descriptive cross-sectional survey research design was adopted and data gathered using a close ended questionnaire. A total of 315(females 105; males 210) pre-service teachers participated in the study. All participants were on the Four-Year B.Ed Primary Education Programme offering General Biology, General Chemistry and General Physics as core courses. Analysis of the data showed that the pre-service teachers had wrong knowledge of SI units of measurement for these basic quantities. They were in particular unable to identify the SI unit symbols for Time, Mass and Length - practically exchanging upper case letters with lower case ones. They were however able to identify and correctly match measuring devices with their corresponding basic quantities. They could also correctly link these measuring devices to real life situations. Thus though their knowledge of the SI units for the basic quantities was limited, their previous knowledge about them and their measuring devices was good. The study laid bare the significance of assessing pre-service teachers’ previous knowledge. Such assessment exposes the teacher to learner needs, strengths and weaknesses. It also guides and equips the teacher on ‘what’ and ‘how’ to plan lessons for new learning concepts to be effectively delivered in a new learning environment. It was therefore recommended that learners’ prior knowledge should always be revised before introducing them to new learning concepts and activities. Keywords: Pre-service teachers’ previous knowledge, Fundamental physical quantities of measurement, SI units of measurement

The second chapter introduces the dataset of the book, defines its units of measurement, and operationalizes its key concepts. We discuss the method of creating our principal tool of analysis, the composite closure index. We reflect in detail on the question of how experiences accumulated through time can be taken into account when measuring stability. Finally, in a validation exercise, we also investigate whether our closure index could have been used to predict which democracies collapsed around the world between the two World Wars. With this exercise we also show that closure is a better proxy for party system institutionalization than the more traditionally used indicator, the electoral volatility index.

<p class="Abstract">In this paper, we illustrate problems related to the application of two methods used for the reconstruction of the parcellation of medieval towns: modular analysis and the cosine quantogram. We propose the usage of the cosine quantogram, which is rarely used to study urban layout, for the identification of units of measurement in regular medieval towns. Based on two examples from the region of Silesia, Poland, Namyslów and Dzierzoniów, we discuss the usefulness of both methods in the reconstruction of the original measuring system and town layout. For the first time, we have applied these two methods to the study of the layout of a regular village. Despite the limitations, such as the level of precision in the construction of a medieval town’s layout at the time of its foundation, later changes to the division of plots and the known inaccuracy of modern maps, it seems that combining both methods allows the determination of the module used for the planning of the original urban layout. The application of the cosine quantogram can be useful for improving the results of modular analysis. Nevertheless, the results of both methods should be verified against archaeological results and historical research.</p>
