Background: Endodontic treatment of various forms of pulpitis with variations of root canal system anatomy should be performed with high quality. The use of various antibacterial agents is aimed at maintaining the success of endodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the penetration and fixation of the nano-silver solution on the dentinal surface during endodontic treatment. Materials and methods: the study was carried out on 70 extracted single-rooted teeth, randomly divided into two groups. In the teeth of the first group, the smear layer was removed after canal preparation with 17% EDTA solution; in the second group, the smear layer was not removed. In both groups, for the final treatment of the canal, a colloidal 1% solution of нанo серебра nanosilver was used. Samples were cut and prepared for analysis using micro-CT, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray microanalysis and energy dispersive spectrometry (elemental mapping). Results: in 100% of cases in groups of teeth with a preserved smear layer, the ability of a 1% colloidal solution of nanosilver with particles of 1–2 nm to be fixed on dentin with a removed and preserved smear layer and to leave a film on the dentinal surface was established. In the samples with removed smear layer, silver was found in 73.5% of cases. Conclusion: The nano-silver solution with a particle size of 1–2 nm proved its ability to penetrate the dentinal surfaces and create a final film covering the dentinal surface of the root canal before applying the sealer.

Periodontitis is a chronic oral inflammatory disease that is difficult to treat and is therefore the subject of clinical research seeking new and effective treatment. Nano-silver has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects; however, its application in periodontitis is not well studied. In this study, we show decreases in periodontitis-associated inflammatory cytokines interleukin IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a) (P < 0.05) and in oxidative stress (P < 0.05) under intervention with nano-silver solution. The protein expression of CCL21, heat-shock protein 90 (HSP90), andE-selectin in periodontal tissues decreased (P < 0.05), while bone structure improved (P < 0.05). This work suggests that nano-silver solution can effectively inhibit the inflammatory response and oxidative stress response of periodontitis and improve the periodontal tissue and tooth structure to some extent; it may provide a new periodontitis treatment in the future.

Studied the silver nanoparticles antibacterial action when it coated titanium dental implants. The accumulation of nano-silver on implants surface obtained by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The distribution of nano silver is uneven throughout the entire length of the implant. Nano silver is scattered over the surface of the implant with a particle size of up to 5 nM.

Micron silver particles prepared by the chemical reduction method, urea formaldehyde resin-coated nano-silver solution microcapsules, and nano-silver solution were used as three kinds of antibacterial agents. These were added to a water-based primer on the surface of Tilia europaea in contents of 1.0%, 4.0%, 7.0%, 10.0%, 13.0%, and 16.0%. In order to achieve the best comprehensive performance of the water-based primer, the mechanical, optical, and antibacterial properties of the three antibacterial coatings with different contents of silver antibacterial agents were explored. It was concluded that when the antibacterial agent content was 4.0%, the color difference, impact resistance, adhesion, and gloss of water-based primer on the Tilia europaea surface were better. When the antibacterial agent content added was 16.0%, the antibacterial properties of the three groups of coatings improved to 94.89%, 81.75%, and 83.98%, respectively. The results provide a research idea for the preparation of antibacterial coatings on the surface of wood furniture.

The study of structural transitions in a cysteine-silver solution was carried out depending on the change in the concentration of the salt - the initiator of gelation. The calculations are carried out using a modified mesoscopic model based on the «sticky spheres» model. A state diagram was constructed in the coordinates - salt concentration, the pair interaction energy of silver mercaptide clusters. It is shown that the modified model reproduces well all structural transformations in a cysteine-silver solution: sol-gel transition, the disintegration of the gel network, and precipitation of silver mercaptide.

Using the methods of UV spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in aqueous solutions of L-cysteine and N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) add silver nitrite (AgNO) at different concentration from 0.001 to 0.025 M the processes of self-organization leading to the formation of a hydrogel have studied in various ratios of the initial components. It has found that for solutions based on L-cysteine and AgNO (cysteine-silver solution - CSS) with a concentration of initial components of 0.025 M form stable hydrogels containing silver nanoparticles (SNPs). At the same time, solutions based on NAC and AgNO are unable to form gels and SNPs. The regularities and conditions influencing the process of gel formation have been determined, which made it possible to propose a mechanism of gelation in the CSS.

All stages of a surgical dental extraction are accompanied by risks of various complications. Many ways and methods have been created in order to prevent the development of complications of different genesis. However, this issue still remains relevant since dental surgeons face the challenge of inflammation problems during the post-extraction period. The use of male Wistar rats as a model organism for a surgical extraction of a lower incisor allows us to conduct visual, histological and immunohistochemical evaluations of the wound healing process. The main objective of this study was to compare the effect of ionic silver solution and hydrogen water in high concentration when irrigating the operational field of a surgical dental extraction on the lower jaw. The results obtained showed that the use of water with an increased content of molecular hydrogen during the treatment is able to stimulate the recovery of the EM of the connective periodontal tissue to a greater extent than the ionic silver solution, connected to the participation of MCs and their secretome.
