Culturally specifi c images and symbols are ethnic semantics carriers. They show historical, national and cultural experience of the nation. The translation studies analysis of similes with a fl ora name, verbalised in the Ukrainian-English language pair, enables tracing the peculiarities of culturally specifi c images and concepts. The article investigates, analyses and gives detailed characteristic of the notion of the culturally specifi c sense as an element of the actual sense of simile, peculiarities of universal and nationally specifi c attributes being the result of the national conceptualisation of a corresponding fl ora object (leaf, tree) in the consciousness of Ukrainian and English speakers. Translation studies analysis is applied aiming at revealing the ways of rendering the culturally specifi c sense in similes with a fl ora name (leaf, tree). Ways of translating simile with the utmost load of cultural information rendering are discussed. Key words: simile, fl ora name, translation, culturally specifi c sense, ways of translation

The intrinsic endpoint effect of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) will lead to serious divergence of the intrinsic mode function (IMF) at the endpoint, which will lead to the distortion of IMF and affect the decomposition accuracy of EMD. In view of this phenomenon, an EMD endpoint effect suppression method based on boundary local feature scale adaptive matching extension was proposed. This method can consider both the change trend of the signal at the endpoint and the change rule of the signal inside. The simulation results showed that the proposed method had better suppression effect on the intrinsic endpoint effect of EMD than the traditional EMD endpoint effect suppression method and achieved high-precision IMF. The endpoint effect suppression method of EMD based on boundary local feature scale adaptive matching extension was used to process the actual blasting seismic signal. The decomposition results showed that the method can effectively suppress the endpoint effect of EMD of blasting seismic signal and are helpful to extract the detailed characteristic parameters of blasting seismic signal.

This article aims to provide a deep analysis of import and export of Russia and German states. The goal is to give a detailed characteristic of main goods and the overview of trade trends in the mentioned period. Methods. The basic methodology for this work is complex comparative analysis of local and foreign statistics sources and classical historical-systematical method. Results. In the study there were identified the main trade goods of export and import: wooden, potash and rye were mostly exported from Russia to German states, silk was the main subject imported from Prussia to Russia. There are also presented the dynamic changes in trade relations during the mentioned period. Discussion and Conclusion. The trade between Russia and German states was stable during the studied period, the creation of German Zollverein positively affected the dynamics of connections development. The results of this research open new perspectives for further investigation of trade connections and relations in German area.

The article presents the characteristics of metal mirrors from the collection of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Gorno-Altai State University. The history of the formation of this small collection, which includes four items from the burials of the Pazyryk culture of the Bike-III and Taldura-II necropolises, is considered. Due to the fact that publications devoted to the introduction into scientific circulation of the results of excavations of the indicated burials did not imply a detailed characteristic of metal mirrors, a description of these objects is given. It has been established that the analyzed finds from the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of GAGU are represented by two types of products. All mirrors are relatively small in size, which is one of the important chronological features of such objects. The lifetime of products with similar characteristics is determined within the wide boundaries of the late 5th -early 3rd centuries BC with the possibility of limiting this period to the framework of the 4th century BC. Prospects for further comprehensive study of metal mirrors from museums in Altai and other regions are obvious. Keywords: metal mirror, altai, museum, archaeological site, Pazyryk culture

The article is devoted to the analysis of various plant motives on Mayan terracotta figurines of the 1st millennium A.D. Two basic types of plant motives are identified, which are represented by plants that are independent subjects of the image, as well as those that are secondary in nature, supplementing the plot composition. A characteristic is given of voluminous, bas-relief and flat forms of the image with a detailed characteristic of their localization, which differ in great variety: costume, hair-style, jewelry, headdress, tattoo, attributive objects, weapons, etc. The Jaina materials provide statistical data on the frequency of occurrence of all the above indicators. Attention is paid to the characteristics of individual plants and their elements, both domesticated and growing near humans, which can be identified and correlated with real prototypes. Quantitative and percentage characteristics of the occurrence of various plants are given, indicating their names in cases when they are definable. Iconographic features in the images of plants are described in detail, consisting both in "photographic" copying of the features of real plants, and in significant artistic stylization of images characteristic rather of images on stelae painted with polychrome ceramics. Conclusions are made about the features of images of plant motives, which are expressed in places of localization, their role in the plot and composition of terracotta, and the semantic load that the visual embodiment of a particular plant or its image carried.

Purpose. Identify the main landscape structures of mining landscapes of Kryvyi Rih landscape technical system. Methods. Historical analysis, cartographical method of spatial analysis, forecasting method. Results. In this regard, the analysis of scientific works has been carried out and the landscape factors that cause the emergence of mining landscapes in Kryvyi Rih landscape and technical system have been considered. Mining landscapes were formed as a result of the interaction of technology and nature. Landscape processes and phenomena play a leading role in the formation and development of mining landscapes. Kryvyi Rih landscape technical system underwent significant changes during the 1880s – 2019s. The biggest changes occurred as a result of iron ore mining and storage of industrial waste. In particular, the northern steppe landscapes, the Saksagan and Ingulets riverbeds were completely destroyed along the iron ore deposits of Kryvyi Rih structure. The structure of mining landscapes has been analyzed, their classification has been developed and the detailed characteristic of each of types of mining landscapes has been given. A map has been developed that reflects the territorial organization of the main landscape complexes of the mining landscapes of Kryvyi Rih landscape technical system. Conclusions. The mining landscapes were formed and are developing, which today are leading in the landscape structure of Kryvbas. Emphasis has been placed on the mining and dumping type of mining landscapes. Recommendations for optimization of landscape structures of mining landscapes of Kryvyi Rih landscape technical system have been substantiated.

The article is focused on the research of actual theoretical, regulatory and practical aspects of the attorney’s professional profile. It has been noted that an important step in choosing an attorney’s profession is to study the attorney’s professional profile as a comprehensive characteristic of advocacy with the description of specific features of this profession. The main scientific approaches to defining the concept of “professional profile” have been analyzed. It has been stated that the term of “professional profile” is understood as a detailed characteristic of the profession consisting of specific requirements for the person, who intends to be engaged in it in the future, necessary for the effective professional activity of an attorney. The emphasis has been placed on the fact that there is currently no universal definition of “professional profile”. Based on the analysis of the legal literature and provisions of the current legislation, the author has comprehensively studied the structural elements of the attorney’s professional profile, enshrined in the current legislation, taking into account the existing national standards of advocacy. The author has emphasized on the lack of legal enshrinement of such qualities of an attorney as justice, depth of thinking (ability to penetrate into the essence of facts) and breadth of mind (ability to cover a wide range of issues), adherence to principles, presence of own opinion and ability to defend it, memory, critical thinking, imagination, strength of will, independence, persistence, determination, categoricalness, persuasiveness, knowledge of the client’s psyche, anticipation of his possible reactions, oratory skills, accuracy, etc. It has been concluded that the compliance with the selected structural elements (standards) of the attorney’s professional profile will create a fundamental basis for sustainable development of the legal profession of Ukraine, to introduce effective conditions for a free and competitive environment at the legal market, and to bring Ukrainian laws closer to European legislation.
