Dermatocosmetics plays an important role in psoriasis and is used in various dosage forms, depending on the localization of the process and with various active molecules that provide keratolytic, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects. Pierre Fabre company has developed the Kertyol P. S.O. (shampoo and concentrate for topical use), which provides additional skin care for psoriasis.Material and methods. 28 patients with psoriasis vulgaris with localization of the process on smooth skin and scalp were under observation. In all patients, the process corresponded to mild severity (PASI < 10 points). On smooth skin, patients used calcipotriol (one time per day) and Kertyol P. S.O. The drug was applied twice a day (morning and evening) to psoriatic plaques on the body for 4 weeks. Shampoo Kertyol P. S.O. was used 3 times a week for 4 weeks in conjunction with a local drug (hydrocortisone one time per day). Research results. Against the background of therapy with localization on smooth skin, after one week, there was a positive trend in relation to peeling, infiltration and erythema: the PASI index decreased by 13.0 %, in 4 weeks by 67.2 %. When localized on the scalp after a week, the PASI index decreased by 21.4 %, to the end of the observation period by 80.9 %. After 4 weeks of therapy, with localization on smooth skin, the VAS decreased by 77.2 % points, with localization on the scalp by 73.1 %. In general, for the group, DIKZH improved by 73.7 %. All the patients noted good organoleptic properties of dermatocosmetics, ease of use.Conclusion. Kertyol P. S.O. can be recommended as an adjuvant therapy for psoriasis of smooth skin and scalp.

Nevus Lipomatosus Cutaneous Superficialis (NLCS) is an uncommon hamartomatous lesion of the skin. NLCS is classified into two clinical forms classic and solitary. Some authors consider this lesion as a type of connective tissue nevus. We report a rare case of solitary NLCS in a 69 year old male with a long history of pedunculated swelling in the right gluteal cleft with review of literature. On gross appearance the lesion was a grey brown, exophytic, cerebriform, smooth skin covered soft tissue mass measuring 4.5 cms in the largest dimension with a broad peduncle attached. On histopathological examination the lesion showed superficial and deep dermal infiltration of the adipose tissue with distortion of the dermal collagen.

Objective — to investigate the effectiveness of different methods of microsporia diagnostics in children. Materials and methods. 50 children aged 2 to 16 (24 boys and 26 girls) were under survey. Depending on the clinical course, diagnosis and research results, all patients were divided into two groups: the 1st group included 40 children with microsporia (19 — with smooth skin microsporia, 13 — with scalp microsporia, 8 — with scalp and smooth skin microsporia); and the 2nd group consisted of 10 children in whom microsporia was not detected. The clinical diagnosis of all patients of the 1st group was confirmed by the results of PCR, microscopic, cultural and luminescent studies. The material for the study was scales from the smooth skin and scalp, as well as hair from the scalp of patients. 10 patients of the 2nd group did not have any clinical manifestations of microsporia and the results of the studies were negative. Results and discussion. The study with PCR in children with microsporia had 100 % positive result. Microsporum canis DNA was detected in all 40 patients. The microscopic method of the study was positive in 95 %. Bacteriological research revealed Microsporum canis in 85 %, while in 15 % the result was negative. Luminescent glow of hair in the rays of the Wood lamp in our study was observed in 87.5 % patients, while in 12.5 % it was absent. Conclusions. The study found that the most effective and accurate method is PCR. This is a method of modern accurate specific diagnostics of microsporia which allows the identification of the pathogen of Microsporum canis at the DNA level. Microscopic, cultural and luminescent research methods can also be used to diagnose this disease.

Zooanthroponic trichophytosis caused by Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrofites, var.gypseum belongs to widespread dermatomycosis in the rural areas of the Uzbekistan. Suppurative mycosis forms (Celsus kerion) are often accompanied by suppurative manifestations, intoxication as well as secondary infection with bacterial microflora. Use of a combination drug mupiroban along with systemic and topical therapy promotes accelerated regression of inflammatory process that elevates therapeutic efficacy.Trichophytosis dominates in the pattern of scalp and smooth dermal layer mycosis in the Uzbekistan and poses a pressing medical and social problem. It was noted that morbidity rate was unevenly distributed in diverse regions of the Uzbekistan that depends on local environmental conditions, climate in arid zone being additionally aggravated by action of technogenic factors. In the Uzbekistan, more common is trichophytosis caused by zoophilous fungi, which role increases during mycosis epidemiologic outbreaks. Fungus culturing method detects Tr. Ectothrix megaspores (Tr. faviforme) in around 90% cases that causes acute purulent lesions on the smooth skin, scalp and face as well as sycosis; fungal spores in pathological samples preserve viability for many years in dry premises. Tr. ectothrixmicroides (Tr. mentagrophytesvar. gypseum) hold the second place among fungi seeded from patient samples. Trichophyton gypsum culture is presented as a loose sheath at the base of hair, prone to polymorphic shape causing spontaneous mycosis in various animal species, whereas in human resulting in acute purulent skin and scalp lesions. Tr. mentagrophytes most prominently exerts proteolytic and keratolytic activity. Infiltrative-suppurative form of zooanthroponic trichophytosis may be often complicated by intoxication, lymphadenitis, disturbed patient general condition and display a progredient course after applying standard therapy wioth systemic and topical antimycotic drugs. In most cases, patients are noted to have secondary infection of mycotic foci due to activated skin microflora as well as increased colonization by staphylococci and opportunistic microorganisms of the intestinal group.Over the last years, infiltrative-suppurative form of zooanthroponic trichophytosis (Celsus kerion) with atypical course and suppurative events have been recorded at higher rate. In such cases, dermal lesions are often associated with lymphadenitis, abscess formation, eczematization, potential development of allergic reactions, erythema nodosum, dermatophytic granulomas, finally resulting in cicatricial alopecia.

The results of testing of the improved working classification of superficial mycoses of the skin and its appendages (SMS) in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the period of 2012-2016 are presented. Given the variety of classifications of fungal skin diseases, many years of clinical experience have shown that none of them fully meets the requirements of a practicing physician. The author has developed and improved the classification of mycoses of the skin and its appendages, which will facilitate the diagnosis and the appointment of therapy, since this classification takes into account the tissue and topographic localization of the mycotic process, which greatly facilitates the diagnosis by dermatovenerologists, and will also reveal the true prevalence of mycotic pathology. Based on the traditional form No. 9, among 246 cases of superficial mycoses of the skin and its appendages identified in the city of Baku for the period of 2012-2016, the largest number of patients (79.44±2.6%) were diagnosed with mycoses of the scalp – 32, 52±1.21%, smooth skin mycoses – 30.08%±1.28 multi-colored lichen – 14.80%±1.01, which corresponds to the frequency of occurrence of these forms of SMS at the age of 11-20 years (44.01±3,1%) and 0-10 years (39.08±3.1%), leaders in the age line of groups with SMS in Baku. A reliable statistical difference was revealed in the detection of superficial mycoses of the skin and its appendages in the city of Baku during the study period. Based on the developed working classification, the nosological structure of the incidence of SMS in the city of Baku for the period 2012-2016 is represented by the following – 1919 episodes: mycoses of the scalp – 675 patients (35.17±1.1%); mycoses of smooth skin – 638 patients (33.25±1.1%); multi-colored lichen – 264 patients (13.76±0.8%); combined mycoses of smooth skin and scalp – 134 patients (6.98±0.6%); onychomycoses – 97 patients (5.05±0.5%); purulent-infiltrative form of mycoses – 66 patients (3.44±0.4%); skin candidiasis – 19 patients (0.99±0.2%); feet of the mycoses – 19 patients (0.99±0.2%); inguinal epidermophytosis – 7 patients (0.36±0.1%). The prevalence of nosologies preserved in the largest number of patients (1578 patients – 82.23±0.9%), mycoses of the scalp – 35.17±1.1% (675 patients), smooth skin mycoses – 33.25±1.1% (638 patients), multicolored lichen – 13.76%±0.8 (264 patients). The greatest number of patients with SMS was also detected in the age group of 11-20 years (42.12±3.1%) and 0-10 years (40.32±3.1%). The data of a comparative analysis of the results of the developed and improved classification of superficial mycoses of the skin and its appendages with the data of the traditional reporting form, made it possible to expand the scope of the analyzed nosologies and increase the objectivity of statistical data for assessing the epidemiological situation in the study region.

Two species of cuttlefish: Sepia robsoni (Massy) and Sepia faurei Roeleveld, are redescribed based on sexually mature males and females of both species. They were previously known only from their holotypes: male and female, respectively. They belong to a distinct group of small-sized sepiids, all near-endemics of southern African waters. The knowledge of the systematics and biology of this group is still limited despite the long time since the first description (1875). This is because, inter alia, of their small size: not larger than 4 cm mantle length at maturity. Twenty-one individuals of S. robsoni described here were scattered from Port Nolloth area to the Tsitsikamma coast (bottom depth <37–449 m). Eight known individuals of S. faurei came from the eastern Agulhas Bank (bottom depth 116–184 m). S. robsoni can be identified by extremely thinly calcified cuttlebone (transparent); smooth skin of dorsal mantle and head; tips of first pair of arms thick, finger-like, devoid of suckers. S. faurei can be distinguished by the following combination of characters: thick, heavily calcified cuttlebone but with flat and fused inner cone; skin of dorsal mantle and head very densely covered by characteristic warts; thin, whip-like tips of first pair of arms devoid of suckers. All described specimens of both species are deposited in the South African Institute of Aquatic Biodiversity (SAIAB) and in Iziko, South African Museum (SAMC).

3D medical imaging can help the physicians to understand the patient anatomy, such as 3D ultrasound and 3D CT scan. In the case of 3D ultrasound reconstruction, the pixel nearest neighbour is one of the popular methods used. The hole-filling method in pixel nearest neighbour can fill in the empty voxel data which is not captured by the ultrasound. Thus, this paper studied the various hole-filling methods in the pixel nearest neighbour method to reconstruct the missing voxels. Besides that, an alternative method is also introduced based on the modified butterfly interpolation scheme. The experiment setup is designed to test the efficiency of the hole-filling method for 3D medical data visualisation by using mean absolute error as well as qualitatively compare the visualization of the reconstruction results. The proposed method can extract smooth skin from the reconstruction volume, although it has a high average MAE result.

Eruptive syringoma is a rare clinical presentation of a benign tumor of the eccrine ducts. Its usual presentation is small, smooth, skin coloured papules with flattened or rounded tops on the anterior body surfaces including face. It usually affects adult female. Treatment of this benign condition is cosmetic only. Herein, we report an uncommon presentation in a 30 years old female who presented with multiple, asymptomatic, skin coloured papules over face, neck, chest and thighs. Histopathology showed collection of cystic ducts and epithelial cords with comma like tails in dermis confirming a diagnosis of eruptive syringomas.

This study aims to find the construction of female body shapes in Julia Perez advertisements including Ya Ya Susu Coffee ’and ar Fresh Sari Susu Soda’. Data was collected using a descriptive qualitative approach which was then analyzed using Roland Barthes's semiotic theory. The results obtained revealed that the adverts of Julia Perez's dan Kopi Susu Ya! ’And ar Segar Sari Susu Soda’ contained elements of patriarchal ideology that appeared through scenes and visualization of images. Through this work it was revealed that the ideal image of women in advertising was built on the perspective of men. Therefore, ideal women are women who have smooth skin, thin stomach, large breasts, large buttocks, and long, straight hair. This means that women who do not meet these criteria are considered women who are not ideal or not attractive to men.
