Background: The incidence of low back pain in Indonesia is still relatively high with an injury prevalence of 6.5%. One of the contributor of the high incidence rate is caused by occupational factors such as works that are repetitive in nature, that imposes forced power, and static work. One of the job that poses this risk is batik craftsmen. It is estimated that there are 15.000 batik craftsmen who are actively working in Central Java Province. The aim of  study was to determine association between individual factors and incidence of low back pain in batik craftsman. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with cross-sectional design, conducted in February 2021 in Central Sokaraja Village. Sample collection was carried out with total sampling method with a total sample of 60 respondents. Data analysis technique used in this study was Chi square test Results: The result of Chi square test showed that there is a significant association between work period and low back pain (p=0.001), there is a significant association between sitting duration and low back pain (p=0.028), there is a significant association between work load and low back pain (p=0.002), there is no significant association between gender and low back pain (p=0.081), there is no significant association between age and low back pain (p=0.632), and there is no significant association between body mass index and low back pain (p=0.807). From multivariate analysis, it was found that there is a significant association between work period and low back pain (p=0.026). Conclusion: There is a significant association between work period, sitting duration, and work load with low back pain, while there is no significant association between age, gender and body mass index (BMI) with low back pain.

PG. Poerwodadie is one of the white crystal sugar factories left by the Dutch East Indies. In the production process with a fairly high risk of work accidents, the company provides Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). However, most workers have not complied with the use of PPE in the work area. Therefore, it is necessary to research factors related to non-compliance with the use of PPE. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between age, years of service, education, and attitudes with workers who were not obedient in using PPE. This research uses quantitative with the cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all workers at the PG. Poerwodadie manufacturing station totals 80 people. The study concludes that there was a relationship between the age of workers and non-compliance with the use of PPE with the value of Phi and Cramer's V = 0.337. There was a relationship between the working period and non-compliance with the use of PPE with a value of 0.329. There was a relationship between worker knowledge and non-compliance with the use of PPE with the value = 0.279. There was no relationship between worker attitudes and non-compliance with the use of PPE

The increase in the number of vehicles in Samarinda City occurs significantly every year this has the potential to decrease environmental quality, namely air pollution. People who are at risk of air pollution are street sweepers who work on the streets every day so that it can have an impact on health. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the individual characteristics of lung function among street sweeping officers in Samarinda City. This research is a type of observational analytic study with a cross-sectional research design that has the aim of analyzing the risks to the consequences that are caused together. This research is included in the quantitative description. The research location was carried out along the protocol road in Samarinda City. The study population was street sweeping officers who were taken randomly amounting to 55 people. This study consisted of the dependent variable, namely lung function, and the independent variables were gender and year of service. Data analysis her use fisher’s exact. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews, measuring lung function on street sweeping officers using a spirometer, while interviews were carried out to determine the sex and year of service of the officers while working as a street sweeper in Samarinda City. The results of the bivariate analysis of individual characteristics, namely between gender and lung function obtained <em>p-value</em>=0,674, while the bivariate results between a work period and lung function obtained <em>p-value</em> 0,219. There was no significant relationship between gender, work period, and lung function.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition that affects the hands and fingers. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) can cause symptoms in the form of tingling, pain, burning, or numbness in the fingers and hands. Complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) cause losses due to the work done. Complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) can be caused by several factors including work attitude, length of work and work period. This study aims to identify the factors associated with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) in public transportation drivers in Lubuk Pakam. This study uses an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was public transportation drivers in Lubuk Pakam as many as 32 respondents with purposive sampling method using the chi square test with a 95% confidence level = (0.05). The results showed that there was a relationship between work attitudes (P = 0.042< (0.05), length of work (P = 0.036 < (0.05), work period (P = 0.034< (0.05)) with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).The advice that can be given is that angkot drivers in Lubuk Pakam take regular breaks of 15-20 minutes by stretching the wrist to reduce the risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) complaints.

This study focuses on the installation of a stern tube which is one of the tasks in shafting installation. The traditional way to set up a stern tube needs more labor input in terms of manpower, work schedule and cost. Not only that, during processing, it requires large boring machinery which generates noise which is harmful to workers’ physical and mental conditions. This study first utilizes problem hierarchy analysis in redefining the problem before finding out the solutions using technical contradiction to work out the feasible solutions. Then, after refining and analyzing the feasible solutions, the feasible solutions were carried out and then an “integrated Stern Tube” was created, which decreased 49% of the cost and 71% of the work period in a dock. This means that the new technique makes it possible for a shipyard to enhance its capacity of building vessels as well as lower the noise effectively. As a result, these improvements add up to a friendlier working environment and lead to a win-win situation between workers and management.

Lead (Pb) is a metal used as raw material for color pigments in printing ink. Pb exposure caused by printing ink can cause an increase in Pb levels in the blood and a decrease in hemoglobin levels. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Pb levels of ink on Pb levels in blood, as well as the effect of Pb levels in the blood on hemoglobin levels in book printing employees on Jalan Karah Surabaya. This study included analytic observational research, the research design used was the cross-sectional design, and the multiple linear correlation test was used for analysis. The results showed that the Pb level in ink had an effect on the Pb level in the blood (p = 0.000; OR = 0.762). The employee characteristics, namely work period, had an effect on Pb level in blood (p = 0.000; OR = 0.883). Age, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and personal hygiene do not affect the Pb level in the blood. Pb levels in the blood affect blood hemoglobin levels (p = 0.001; OR = -0.724). Employee characteristics, namely their work period, affect blood hemoglobin levels (p = 0.046; OR = -0.4471). Age and nutritional status did not affect the blood hemoglobin level. The conclusion in this study is that Pb levels in ink increases Pb levels in the blood, and Pb levels in the blood decrease blood hemoglobin levels. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor lead levels in the blood by periodic examination every 6 or 12 months. Book printing personnel should also take supplements containing calcium, iron (Fe), and vitamin C to inhibit lead absorption. Keywords: Pb levels in ink, blood Pb levels, Hb levels, printing employees.
