New teachers have to cope with many issues in the initial phase which discourage them and persuade them to abandon their teaching profession. To transition themselves from a student- teacher to a professional-teacher, the initial years is the critical time of survival for the beginning teacher. It is during this initial phase of their career that they require extra support and caring supervision to adapt easily to their newly chosen roles. The current induction programmes utilised are not adequate enough to successfully evolve the transition of a newcomer teacher into the parent institution. This study utilises the theoretical framework of organisational socialisation and its literature to bridge the gap between teacher transformation and teacher retention, especially engaging the OS Practice of Mentoring. By examining the issues inherent in newcomer-teacher adaptation and the various dimensions of knowledge sharing transition process, from senior teachers (especially HOD) to the juniors in a departmental position, mentoring is found to be the most ideal and effective practice to solve burnout to a great extent, and to ensure successful retention of newcomer teachers. Keywords: Organisational Socialisation, Mentoring, Teacher retention, Newcomer adaptation, transition process.

Good management of library collections will make it as sources of information for users. Through the management of research results information in the Institute for Mariculture Research and Fishes Extension (IMRAFE) library, it is hoped that its can provide greater benefits for both the researchers of IMRAFE, IMRAFE as the parent institution and the wider community. One form of research results managed by IMRAFE library is Scientific Paper produced by IMRAFE researchers.Scientific Paper management is done by grouping its base on research commodities, authors and the year of publication and digitization of Scientific Paper that is still in printed form. Scientific Paper managed by IMRAFE library is as many as 1,173 titles that are available in print and digital form. Further Scientific Paper management is done by providing OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) services by utilizing SLIMS (Senayan Library Management System) application. Scientific Paper management in IMRAFE library can provide information related to the amount of Scientific Paper produced per year, the spread of written topics, and can also be used as one of the indicators of theresearcher productivity on scientific writing.

The mission of the special library for government agencies is to provide library material and access to information for the parent institution, while one of its functions is to develop collections that support the performance of the parent institution so that the library plays an important role in research activities at the Center for the Conservation of Plants-Bogor Botanical Gardens (PKT-KRB) LIPI. The natural beauty of Papua attracts researchers both from within and outside the country to conduct research on its biodiversity, including researchers from PKT-KRB LIPI, therefore libraries are supposed to provide a collection of plants in Papua that can be used as a reference for research activities. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the library collections in PKT-KRB LIPI, especially those related to plants in Papua. Through literature study, the author explores the collections in the library to find out what collections are contained in the library which contains information on plants in Papua to be discussed in detail. The results of the study show that the number of collections containing information on plants in Papua in the period of publication from 1985-2019 includes: 17 books, 10 travel reports, and 6 proceedings. Suggestions for further study are to focus on one of the endemic plants in Papua with literature studies not only on collections in the library but extending to the results of research by PKT-KRB LIPI research staff.

The relationship between class attendance and academic performance has been an important area of research, with a positive association being posited between the two. The setting for our study is an International Branch Campus (IBC) of a British university that needs to demonstrate the quality of its service delivery both to the parent institution and to the fee-paying students. We employ a dataset of over 900 students in an undergraduate degree programme and subject it to statistical techniques, namely quantile regression and two-stage quantile regression. Our results show that attendance has a beneficial influence on academic performance and this benefit persists at higher percentile of grades. We propose that IBCs could consider an attendance policy that encourages students to attend classes.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning content that live in public domain and are free to use or reuse. The present study examines the contribution of Library Professionals and Libraries in dealing with OERs in India. A self-designed structured questionnaire was circulated online through blogs, discussion forums, social media groups and personal e-mails among library professionals, faculty and students for random data collection. The findings of the present study reveal that though majority (93 %) of library professionals are aware of the concept of OER but they are unable to guide the OER movement because their parent institution (70 %) have no policy guidelines on design and development of OERs. Library professionals play multiple tasks in dealing with OERs, most prominent being promotion (15.63 %) and Identification (14.02 %) of OERs. The study further reveals that 25.48 per cent library professionals believe that through use of OERs the patrons get benefit of gaining access to high quality learning material. While 21.3 per cent library professionals feels that lack of awareness on the existence of OERs because of rapid technological advancement is the major challenge faced by them. The study recommends that there is an urgent need to sensitise institutions about the benefits of OER.

Advancement in Science and Technology has made a tremendous impact on library and information centers. It has changed the traditional libraries and information centers into digital libraries, and library services are oriented towards ICT. As an outcome, e-resources are becoming more common among the libraries of higher educational institutions. They have gradually replaced the traditional print resources. Unfortunately, most of the libraries in the higher education sector except reputed institutions are facing a financial crunch situation. These institutions due to the limitation in the budget, find it hard to fulfill the information requirements of its users in the electronic environment. The cost of subscription to electronic resources goes beyond the purchasing capacity of the parent institution. Funding agencies at the institutions adopt consortia-based approach rather than individual institutional funding. In this context, open education resources fulfill the information requirements of the higher education institution. This chapter analyzes these open educational resources.
