Objectives: The purpose of this study is to introduce the procedures and methods for mission and vision development at a College of Korean Medicine (CKM), which established its mission and vision using Delphi techniques and big data analysis on various members and stakeholders.Methods: A total of 754 participated in the Delphi survey. A Delphi survey was conducted with professors, students, parents, and alumni stakeholders to establish Daegu Haany University CKM’s mission and vision. The data were analyzed through content analysis and big data analysis of keywords.Results: As a result of the study, the most important keywords to be included in the mission and vision were "professionalism" and "morality." Included in the mission were the concepts of "morality" and "professionalism," which were emphasized by the four groups. All surveyed stakeholders regarded "scientific," and "global" as important themes to be included in the vision.Conclusions: The present study confirmed that there were themes commonly prioritized by all stakeholders for college mission and vision, and a difference in demand for educational goals between professors and students was also affirmed. Therefore, institutions of higher learning should develop their mission and vision by appropriately reflecting the needs of the interest groups.

Abstract Background Despite effectiveness in delaying the spread of the pandemic, frequent and extended disruption to children’s livelihoods have fomented new norms in which learning routines encounter immense change. In particular, increased sedentary e-learning engagement with electronic screens and exposure to stressful circumstances are likely to pose adverse risks for children’s vision development. Methods This present study examines the link between near-sighted refractive error, and sedentary exposure to electronic screens, psychosocial stress level, and outdoor activities. A Rapid Survey Methodology (RSM) design was utilized to collect information on subject’s vision condition, sedentary electronic screen use, and level of psychosocial stress, in addition to detailed socio-demographic background characteristics. Results This study involves 2234 subjects enrolled in 1st to 6th grade in primary schools. Every 1 diopter hour increase in electronic screen use per day is associated with 1.036 OR (95% CI =1.024–1.047, p-value< 0.050), while every 1 h • W m− 2 sr− 1 of illuminance-weighted electronic screen use per day is associated with 2.285 OR (95% CI =1.829–2.855, p-value< 0.050) increased likelihood of near-sighted refractive error. Higher level of psychosocial stress is associated with 2.441 OR (95% CI =1.870–3.187, p-value< 0.050) and 2.403 OR (95% CI =1.839–3.141, p-value< 0.050) increased likelihood of near-sighted refractive error. Frequency of outdoor activity is not significantly associated with increased likelihood of near-sighted refractive error (p-value> 0.050). Conclusions Findings in this study show that many factors, including grade level and prior vision condition, contribute to increased risks of near-sighted refractive error during the COVID-19 pandemic. More strikingly, pandemic-related behavioral modifications such as lengthy sedentary electronic screen use and elevated levels of psychosocial stress are two critical channels affecting children’s eye health.

Abstract The topic of this study is the optical inspection of CPVC fitting elbows concerning the geometric parameters that can be detected in 2 dimensions. Based on the evaluation of the results, fault diagnosis has been set up for the production line by statistical calculations. The optical inspection was carried out in the Vision Development Module software environment produced by National Instruments, and the data were evaluated using Microsoft Excel.

Abstract Purpose Scientific and clinical achievements in radiation, medical, and surgical oncology are changing the landscape of interdisciplinary oncology. The German Society for Radiation Oncology (DEGRO) working group of young clinicians and scientists (yDEGRO) and the DEGRO representation of associate and full professors (AKRO) are aware of the essential role of radiation oncology in multidisciplinary treatment approaches. Together, yDEGRO and AKRO endorsed developing a German radiotherapy & radiation oncology vision 2030 to address future challenges in patient care, research, and education. The vision 2030 aims to identify priorities and goals for the next decade in the field of radiation oncology. Methods The vision development comprised three phases. During the first phase, areas of interest, objectives, and the process of vision development were defined jointly by the yDEGRO, AKRO, and the DEGRO board. In the second phase, a one-day strategy retreat was held to develop AKRO and yDEGRO representatives’ final vision from medicine, biology, and physics. The third phase was dedicated to vision interpretation and program development by yDEGRO representatives. Results The strategy retreat’s development process resulted in conception of the final vision “Innovative radiation oncology Together – Precise, Personalized, Human.” The first term “Innovative radiation oncology” comprises the promotion of preclinical research and clinical trials and highlights the development of a national committee for strategic development in radiation oncology research. The term “together” underpins collaborations within radiation oncology departments as well as with other partners in the clinical and scientific setting. “Precise” mainly covers technological precision in radiotherapy as well as targeted oncologic therapeutics. “Personalized” emphasizes biology-directed individualization of radiation treatment. Finally, “Human” underlines the patient-centered approach and points towards the need for individual longer-term career curricula for clinicians and researchers in the field. Conclusion The vision 2030 balances the ambition of physical, technological, and biological innovation as well as a comprehensive, patient-centered, and collaborative approach towards radiotherapy & radiation oncology in Germany.

Background: Vertical yoked prisms for treatment for binocular, accommodative, refractive, gait, posture, and behavioral conditions has been recommended by various authors. Few clinical trials have assessed the safety and efficacy of this practice. The purpose of this study is to estimate the frequency of vertical yoked prism use in vision therapy and spectacle prescriptions in a sample of College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) membership. Methods: Multiple invitations to participate in a prospective anonymous survey were sent to all COVD members by email in October 2019. Results: One hundred twenty-three COVD members participated. Eighty percent use vertical yoked prisms in vision therapy and 83% prescribe vertical yoked prisms in habitual spectacle prescriptions. Base down and base up across a range of powers are used about equally in therapy. Base down is prescribed more commonly for esophoria and myopia. Base up is prescribed more commonly for exophoria. Base down and base up are prescribed about equally for oculomotility, perceptual conditions, posture and behavioral conditions such as autism. Sixty three percent of respondents plan to wean patients off the prism prescriptions. Conclusions: Vertical yoked prisms are commonly used in vision therapy and prescribed in habitual spectacle prescriptions in this sample of COVD members. Given the high frequency reported, larger controlled studies on safety and efficacy are in order.

<p>Rapid worldwide spread of Corona virus Disease 2019 (COVID 19) has resulted in a global pandemic. In present scenario due to covid-19, the mask has been an important part of our live for our safety as well as for the others safety so there is a need for efficient face mask detection applications in crowded areas like shopping malls, Public transportation etc. To ensure safety of the people in the surroundings. Face Mask Detection using NI LabVIEW. In this project a real-time system is developed to detect whether the person is wearing a mask or not by acquiring a real-time image of him through a Camera. The main challenges in detecting the mask are there are masks with various colors and patterns and secondly the background, light intensity are also the factors that affect the result. So, all these factors should be taken into consideration while developing the system in real-time. This system used for this application consists of vision development module. Vision development module helps to develop applications for machine vision and image processing applications we can use it with LabVIEW for real- time systems. A camera with good pixel quality is used for image acquisition. The captured image is of RGB format, it is difficult to analyze the image in this format, so it undergoes color plane extraction in this only a single plane of the image is considered which separates the mask from surroundings and results in a grey scale image for further processing. The image later is compared to a custom-made template dataset using pattern matching algorithm from vision assistant which helps to detect the mask region. overlaying techniques are used to highlight the mask region which shows that the person is wearing the mask.<strong></strong></p>

INTRODUCTION: The rapid population growth and fast-paced development of urban texture have given rise to unwise decisions which can be only prevented by strategic management of city neighborhoods based on a vision in accordance with the common values of society. The vision development aims at determining the position a neighborhood strives to reach. In the meantime, disaster-stricken areas have a special position, considering reconstruction as a golden opportunity. The present article aimed to develop a vision for Shiroodi and Fooladi neighborhoods in Sarpol-e Zahab after the 1396 earthquake in Kermanshah province. METHODS: The present applied research was conducted based on a descriptive-analytical design. To this end, situation assessment was firstly performed in both strategic and local domains based on urban systems. For each system, the table of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) was prepared. Moreover, combining different layers, a vulnerability map and an integrated SWOT analysis map were obtained. Finally, based on these maps, field observations, interviews with residents, and expert opinions, a vision statement was presented and the necessary policies were formulated. FINDINGS: Based on the obtained results, the strengths, and opportunities, such as quick access to the main artery and the presence of barren lands, have a resilient state in response to disasters. On the other hand, weaknesses, and threats, such as construction on agricultural lands or the narrow passages, are among the factors that highlight the need to select a vision with a resilient approach to future disasters. CONCLUSION: As evidenced by the research of the study, the first stage of visioning must be based on urban systems, such as land use, movement and access, physical form, and landscape urbanism. In this regard, a vision needs to assess resilience at different physical, environmental, social, and economic levels. Furthermore, this vision should lead to the presentation of some instructions, such as the obtainment of a checkered texture, expansion of green spaces, reduction of enclosures, as well as safety in infrastructure and networks, to increase the resilience of the target neighborhood after the earthquake.

A atuação do terapeuta ocupacional no campo da saúde ocular e visual para a promoção do desenvolvimento infantil e prevenção de deficiências, requer conhecimento amplo e sólido sobre a complexidade da fundamentação teórica que norteia e sustenta a prática clínica. Ao mesmo tempo, necessita de um olhar individualizado para as potências, comportamentos e características de cada criança, especialmente nos primeiros anos de vida. O presente editorial busca contextualizar conceitos fundamentais sobre processos de plasticidade e maturação neurológica, desenvolvimento ocular e de funções visuais/visuomotoras, relacionar saberes da saúde e educação com níveis de prevenção com base no conhecimento científico. Objetiva minimizar divergências teóricas e conceituais no campo em questão e oferecer suporte teórico para a clínica de terapeutas ocupacionais no processo de intervenção oportuna e habilitação visual de bebês e crianças com diagnóstico ou em risco para alterações no desenvolvimento da visão, a fim de potencializar experiências para a máxima expressão do desenvolvimento infantil.Palavras-chave: Terapia Ocupacional. This editorial seeks to contextualize fundamental concepts about processes of neurological plasticity and maturation, ocular development and visual/ visomotor functions and to relate health and education knowledge to prevention levels based on scientific knowledge. It aims to minimize theoretical and conceptual divergences in the field in question, and offer theoretical support to the clinic of occupational therapists in the process of timely intervention and visual enabling of babies and children diagnosed or at risk for changes in vision development, in order to enhance experiences for the maximum expression of child development.  Keywords: Occupational Therapy; Eye Health; Disease Prevention.ResumenEl rol del terapeuta ocupacional en el campo de la salud ocular y visual para promover el desarrollo infantil y prevenir discapacidades requiere un conocimiento amplio y sólido sobre la complejidad del fundamento teórico que guía y sustenta la práctica clínica.
